Job Description
A paid Story Assistant Producer opportunity is now available through the SBS Talent Escalator Program in partnership with ITV Studios Australia. This 12-week placement is designed for emerging production professionals from underrepresented backgrounds who are ready to advance into story producing. Working under the mentorship of an experienced Story Producer, you’ll gain hands-on experience in narrative development, story structure, post-production workflows, and editorial processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Story Producers with narrative development and story tracking.
- Mark up timelines and organize footage using Avid.
- Summarize raw footage into clear story notes for field and post-production teams.
- Review and analyze production footage to identify key narrative arcs.
- Participate in story meetings and contribute to editorial discussions.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be at least 18 years old and not a current student.
- Previous production experience is required.
- Must identify with one or more underrepresented groups.
- Strong interest in story producing, post-production, and television development.
- Must be able to work in Pyrmont, Sydney during the placement.
