The independent short film Paradiso is seeking a Sound Recordist to join its volunteer production crew in Los Angeles, California. The self-funded, low-budget short film is a modern noir inspired by Hollywood’s golden age. It follows an aspiring actor named Xavier as a promising career opportunity draws him into the darker side of the entertainment industry. The production will use a run-and-gun indie filmmaking approach while shooting at various classic Hollywood locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as Sound Recordist during production
- Capture production audio throughout filming
- Coordinate with the director and other crew members
- Support filming at multiple Los Angeles and Hollywood locations
- Adapt to a fast-moving, independent filmmaking environment
- Maintain professional and collaborative conduct throughout production
Requirements
- Sound recording experience or relevant production knowledge
- Comfortable working within an independent filmmaking environment
- Interest in low-budget and portfolio-building film projects
- Interest in noir and atmospheric filmmaking is a plus
