Job Description:
Casting non-union actors for a historical documentary project filming in Philadelphia. This production will bring to life real stories of remarkable women during the Revolutionary War era. Roles include strong, confident, and intellectually driven women who reflect the diverse history and spirit of early America.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray historically inspired characters authentically and accurately

  • Follow direction from the production team to capture the tone and style of the period

  • Collaborate with fellow actors to bring historical narratives to life

  • Maintain professionalism on set and be fully available for assigned shoot dates

Requirements:

  • Non-Union talent only

  • Must be available for filming on specific dates depending on the role

  • Must be able to work locally in Philadelphia (no travel or lodging provided)

  • Strong understanding of historical storytelling preferred

Character Breakdowns:

  • DINAH (Black woman, 25–55): Strong, active, and astute. Formerly enslaved servant later manumitted. Confident, dignified, and historically remembered for saving Stenton during the Revolutionary War.

  • MARY “POLLY” NORRIS DICKINSON (White woman, 25–45): Refined Quaker woman and intellectual heiress with natural elegance and modest charm. Married to revolutionary leader John Dickinson.

  • HANNAH SHARP BREINTNALL (White woman, 30–60): Practical, warm, and social. A Philadelphia businesswoman managing her family’s eyewear shop. Strong presence with modest Quaker style.

Compensation:

  • $400/day (for lead roles)

Job Description

A production is seeking six actors to portray “Fake Rebels” in a social experiment-style project. Selected performers will participate in an interactive panel format where contestants share convincing fictional stories about being imprisoned on extremist-related charges. The panel will attempt to identify the one real rebel among a group of participants.

This role requires strong improvisational and storytelling abilities, as performers must convincingly present a fabricated backstory while engaging with panelists and other participants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray a believable “Fake Rebel” character during filming.
  • Develop and deliver a convincing fictional story as directed by production.
  • Participate in panel discussions and interactive questioning.
  • Remain in character throughout the filming session.
  • Follow production instructions and maintain professionalism on set.

Requirements

  • Seeking 6 actors of all ethnicities.
  • Open to performers of any age.
  • Strong improvisation, acting, and storytelling skills preferred.
  • Ability to confidently portray a fictional character in a social experiment setting.
  • Must submit a recent photo, contact information, and requested application materials.
  • Comfortable participating in discussions involving fictional criminal and extremist-related scenarios for entertainment purposes.

Compensation Details

  • Rate: $150 flat rate.
  • Filming duration: Approximately 4 hours.
