Job Description
An independent director is seeking a skilled Director of Photography (DP) / Cinematographer for a narrative short film shooting in Atlanta. This project is a 20-minute short with strong festival ambitions and a focused, collaborative production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual storytelling ability and be comfortable contributing creatively to the film’s overall look and feel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead cinematography for a narrative short film
  • Collaborate with the director to develop the visual style and composition
  • Operate and manage camera equipment during production
  • Work efficiently within a structured shoot schedule
  • Ensure high-quality footage suitable for festival submissions

Requirements

  • Experience as a DP or cinematographer on narrative projects
  • Strong eye for storytelling, framing, and composition
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute creatively
  • Comfortable working on a lean, fast-paced production
  • Experience with Sony FX3 or FX30 preferred
  • Additional gear (lenses, tripod, etc.) is a plus
  • Professional attitude focused on the work (team-oriented mindset)

Compensation

  • $500 flat rate
  • Meals and gas covered
  • Footage provided for demo reel
