Job Description
An independent director is seeking a skilled Director of Photography (DP) / Cinematographer for a narrative short film shooting in Atlanta. This project is a 20-minute short with strong festival ambitions and a focused, collaborative production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual storytelling ability and be comfortable contributing creatively to the film’s overall look and feel.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead cinematography for a narrative short film
- Collaborate with the director to develop the visual style and composition
- Operate and manage camera equipment during production
- Work efficiently within a structured shoot schedule
- Ensure high-quality footage suitable for festival submissions
Requirements
- Experience as a DP or cinematographer on narrative projects
- Strong eye for storytelling, framing, and composition
- Ability to collaborate and contribute creatively
- Comfortable working on a lean, fast-paced production
- Experience with Sony FX3 or FX30 preferred
- Additional gear (lenses, tripod, etc.) is a plus
- Professional attitude focused on the work (team-oriented mindset)
Compensation
- $500 flat rate
- Meals and gas covered
- Footage provided for demo reel
- Opportunity for festival exposure (Sundance, Tribeca, and more)
