Job Description: CNA Casting is seeking confident te reo Māori speakers for an exciting new production with Whakaata Māori. We are looking for individuals who can embody the roles naturally and bring authenticity to the screen. No previous acting experience is necessary, but confidence in your ability to deliver lines and take direction is key.

This is a fantastic opportunity for young Māori actors to gain experience in a professional production setting while promoting te reo Māori through storytelling.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform in scripted scenes for a Māori-language production.
  • Deliver lines confidently in te reo Māori.
  • Work closely with the director and follow instructions on set.
  • Collaborate with other cast members to ensure a cohesive and compelling performance.
  • Commit to rehearsals and filming schedules as required.

Requirements:

  • Wahine toa: Screen age 18 – 20 years, must be confident in te reo Māori.
  • Tane toa: Screen age 20 – 22 years, must be fluent in te reo Māori (E Matatau i te reo).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take direction.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive attitude.
  • Prior acting experience is not required, but applicants should be enthusiastic and confident on camera.

Compensation Details:

  • Compensation will be provided; specific details will be discussed with successful applicants.
  • Opportunities for ongoing work in future productions with CNA Casting and Whakaata Māori may be available.

Casting Call: Girl (9-12 Years Old) for International TV Series

Job Description:

Catch Casting is seeking a talented young actress, aged 9-12, to join the cast of an exciting international TV series shooting in Auckland, New Zealand. The role requires a natural performer who can deliver lines in an American accent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray a character who is American, with strong emotional range and authenticity.
  • Work closely with the director and cast to bring the character to life.
  • Attend rehearsals and follow direction to meet the production’s vision.

Requirements:

  • Age: 9-12 years old
  • Physical Characteristics: Blonde to brown hair with brown eyes, matching an existing cast member.
  • Ethnicity: Pākehā (of European descent)
  • No previous acting experience required, but the ability to confidently deliver lines in an American accent is essential.
  • Open to applicants based anywhere in New Zealand.
  • Must be available for a few days of shooting between January – February 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed).

Compensation:

  • This is a paid role, with flights and accommodations provided for those outside Auckland.
