Principal Organist / Music Director Position Available
FULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS
Most Holy Trinity – St. Mary is a historic, multi-lingual urban parish in Williamsburg, with a deep
commitment to serving the poor. We are seeking a Principal Organist / Music Director who can
embrace the down-to-earth spirituality of the Franciscans and the inclusive and participative
vision of Liturgy proposed by the Church.
Requirements
• Degree in Music (Organ Preferred)
• Familiarity with the Roman Catholic Liturgy
Ministry Description
• Plan the music for all liturgies in conformity with liturgical norms and in consultation
with the Pastor
• Play:
English Sunday Liturgies at 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM English
Wednesdays at 7:00 PM Holy Hour & Benediction (might move to 6:30 PM)
Supervise musicians for 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM Liturgies
Arrange music for additional musicians
• Participate in planning and leading the music for Holy Week, Easter, Holy Days of
Obligation and special Franciscan celebrations such as the Feast of Saint Francis,
Saint Anthony, Live Nativity and a few others
• Recruit/ hire and manage cantors and other musicians as needed
• Fulfill the copyright and licensing obligations for liturgy and video streaming
• Right of first refusal for weddings and funerals
• Work to develop choirs where possible.
Salary
• $45,000 – $55,000 Depending on experience and training
Instruments
• Allen electronic organ and Steinway Piano (small upright)
