Producer

As Producer, the individual selected for this role will research, develop, write and produce short-form pieces and segments for KET mission-based productions.
Our ideal Candidate will:
Oversee all content elements and coordinate and execute all aspects of assigned productions including researching, developing, and writing production proposals, and conducting pre-production meetings with content experts.
Direct crew and talent on studio and field productions; initiate the scheduling of travel and accommodations for crew and talent. Operate professional cameras as needed.
Create professional rough edits in a timely and efficient manner. Oversee online edit sessions and all aspects of post-production including graphics creation, color correction, and audio post. Accurately log and categorize all program and raw footage files for digital archiving.
Be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of records necessary for production, broadcast, and digital use including facilities requests, budgets, rights, contracts, music cue sheets, releases, copyright information, operational records, and reports.
Contribute to content distribution across multiple platforms, strengthening digital capacity, defining digital responsibilities for staff, and integrating digital production into the daily workflow.
Contribute to and execute the creative and editorial vision of KET productions.
Effectively collaborate with team members on equipment by sharing skills, knowledge, and production processes.
Produce promotional spots for assigned productions; provide accurate and timely information to the Managing Producer for the Marketing and Traffic Departments. Oversee and package program deliverables according to established formats required by KET, NETA, APT, or PBS.
Be dedicated to diversity in content, recruiting, and approaches.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of two (2) years of television production experience. Practical experience in television may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience With Professional Video Cameras Is Required.
Editing experience and directing finishing edit sessions is required.
Must have strong computer, writing, oral communications, and interpersonal skills.
Must be available on a flexible schedule and for weekend and overnight travel.
Must be able to occasionally move/lift/carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
