Jomboy Media is a New York-based multimedia sports and entertainment company founded by Jimmy “Jomboy” O’Brien in 2017. In the years since, Jimmy and partner Jake Storiale have built Jomboy Media into one of the most sought-after multimedia sports brands, focusing on the creation and distribution of original content for podcasts, digital series, television shows and new IP.
We are currently looking for a Director of People.
Responsibilities:
- Build out various People programs including but not limited to Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Benefits Management (including health, welfare & retirement), DE&I, Performance Management, Compensation, L&D, Culture building.
- Design and execute how the business staff onboards, develops, motivates, retains, and organizes work.
- Manage talent acquisition process and ensure recruiting resources are effectively deployed across hiring managers.
- Foster a culture that is transparent, collaborative and action oriented.
- Oversee sensitive employee relations issues and consult with Legal to manage people issues timely, confidentially, thoughtfully and within compliance.
- Complete ad-hoc projects such as creating manuals, developing competencies, drafting role profiles, policy revisions, etc.
- Use both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify trends, support retention/engagement and identify strategic opportunities to provide an experience that enhances our culture, experience and work environment.
- Partner on Diversity & Inclusion efforts, working closely with teams to ensure we have in place the protocols, guidelines, toolkits and programs that demonstrate our commitment to being an inclusive workplace where the full spectrum of talent can thrive.
- Create the employee performance and compensation management processes.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree
- 5-7 years of experience as an HRBP with start-up experience preferred.
- Experience in the tech/media space preferred.
- Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze quantitative data and understand the key metrics (demographics, attrition/retention rate, pipeline, mobility) in order to communicate insights, ideas, tell stories, drive decisions and measure impact.
- Self-motivated and directed, consistently demonstrating initiative and drive for results.
- Excellent organizational skills and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech savvy and familiar with various HR/ATS software, tools, systems.
