Our editorial team is looking for eager writers to contribute Movie/TV news content under the leadership of the Movie/TV News Lead Editor in the position of Entertainment Writer: Movie/TV News. The selected candidates will help source, brainstorm, produce, self-edit and publish original new content for our knowledgeable audience and have the opportunity for tremendous career growth within the organization. Please note that this role does not involve video production or script writing.
Candidates should be passionate for the field of Movies/TV and preferably have an in-depth understanding of the latest, most breaking and biggest news trends. We want researchers whose fingers are firmly on the pulse of the Movie/TV world and its culture, and who know exactly where to look for its most interesting developments.
At the same time, we want seasoned content creators with proven experience writing clean, informative copy to tight deadlines and exacting editorial standards.

Expectations
- Researching, writing, self-editing and posting 3-5 articles per week in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training and peer mentorship period)
- This will include fact checking, formatting, linking and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
- Pitch story ideas when none are readily available
- Exploring relevant news and social media feeds, including Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok and more, and tuning in to popular podcasts, streams and YouTube shows to enhance coverage.
- Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
- Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects. This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills. They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
- Color grading at intermediate level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
- Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
- Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
- Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
- Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
- Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
- Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
- Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
- Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
- Strong video resume required. This resume should demonstrate samples from all of the areas mentioned above.
