What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for a multimedia Production Designer to join the marketing and brand team. At Group14, designers are makers and storytellers that use design to bring ideas to life. They lead project designs into uncharted creative territories without blinking, extending visual language, while always being mindful of how it looks and how it works within the context of the brand and the needs of the team.

Your job will be to creatively support and art direct, depending on need: email, website, wayfinding, social content, presentation/event decks, video, and more. You’ll support marketing and brand leadership to visually communicate the future of breakthrough advanced battery materials through visual storytelling about Group14 as an innovative leader. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong understanding of storytelling across visual mediums, has deep customer empathy, and understands how to work collaboratively across disciplines with a willingness to roll-up their sleeves and get into the weeds as well as an enthusiasm to contribute creative perspectives and invention.

As a Production Designer, you believe in the power of design as language. You’re energized by solving complex communication challenges with beautiful, on brand, visual solutions. You advocate for the company relentlessly and wield the power of design thinking in everything you do.

At Group14, you’ll work closely with the marketing team and an Art Director to successfully go from brand/communications initiatives to launch and amplification. You’ll bring consistency to and elevate the experience by crafting beautiful designs and imagery to correspond with messaging, narratives, office, and apparel to help us communicate about our company in the most effective way possible across channels.

Who you are

You are a creative designer who can crank out assets and design needs for digital, social, presentation decks, and physical mediums (signage and apparel). You’re responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment.

You demonstrate strong visual design skills and design thinking prowess and will assist and lead the creation of online visual design, typography, visual concept, logos, icons, and other interactive platforms.

You know how to create design boards and identify how to extend a visual language for any given project and can utilize as well as create assets to design all sorts of digital and physical deliverables.

You effectively communicate and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure designs are on brand and in-line with company expectations.

You’re comfortable with ambiguity and have experience navigating it, but you’re also not afraid to ask questions and embrace a growth mindset with compassionate curiosity and ownership.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience designing across media
  • Formal design training
  • Previous experience collaborating with creative and/or brand leads
  • Proficiency in Mac OS, Figma (or similar) Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), Google Suite, Microsoft Office

  • Collaborate well with others and understands how to influence with compassion
  • Effective collaboration in cross-functional design and product teams
  • Management of multiple projects in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

Other qualities we’d love for you to have:

  • Film shooting and editing experience
  • B2B or B2C clean tech, sustainability, manufacturing, or nanotech experience
