Casting Call for “Rutka: A New Musical”

About the Musical:
“Rutka: A New Musical” is an evocative indie-rock musical set to make its world premiere. Set in 1943 Poland within a Jewish Ghetto, the story revolves around Rutka, a teenager whose diaries document her everyday experiences—ranging from adolescent dilemmas to the harrowing realities of war. Based on the true-life reflections in Rutka Laskier’s notebook, the musical explores themes of hope, resilience, and resistance amid the backdrop of one of history’s darkest times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the director, musical director, and fellow cast members to develop a cohesive and compelling portrayal of the character.
  • Perform in all scheduled rehearsals and live performances, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and dedication.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to bring the character to life authentically, respecting the historical and emotional weight of the role.
  • Participate in promotional activities, including media appearances, interviews, and other publicity efforts as required by the production team.
