About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Brand to support the development and growth of the Keys Soulcare brand. This is a highly visible leadership role within the organization and externally with a global icon and her management team.

The Senior Director, Brand will be our biggest brand advocate and steward, and act as key leader on the marketing team who will shape and execute the strategic direction of the brand, drive marketing calendars, sharpen brand communication, and lead the complete 360 go-to-market strategies leveraging insights and analytics to support our brand vision, values, and business objectives. This individual will be able to command teams to meet goals with clear, strategic direction and monthly priorities while working closely with our brand partners and cross-functional teams to drive trial and brand discovery through compelling storytelling to build broader awareness.

Responsibilities include Brand Marketing, Social Media, PR, Influencer Marketing, and Trade support. The Senior Director, Brand will also act as a key contributor to innovation planning meetings to shape portfolio health and ensure focused product innovation in key strategic and competitive categories, as well as partner with Sales and Ecommerce to help drive our channels (keyssoulcare.com, Ulta, Douglas, Sephora Canada).

The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategic and creative marketer, with excellent communication and relationship management skills and experience managing multiple partners and stakeholders. S/he will need to possess superior organizational skills and critical thinking to drive storytelling, strategy, and results. This role requires a forward thinker that readily embraces new challenges and can drive impact with momentum. This role requires strong collaboration across all cross-functional teams including Creative, eCommerce and Digital, Visual Merchandising, Product Marketing, and Finance, as well as external partners, to create a strong, seamless brand execution and experience across all touchpoints along the consumer decision journey.

This role is based in our New York, NY office which is open in a hybrid model of three days in the office and two days at home.

Detailed Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the brand strategy development, positioning and messaging across all touchpoints including digital, social, in-store merchandising, packaging, and events within NA & globally.
  • Be the brand steward and biggest champion of the brand within the organization.
  • Ensure brand messaging resonates with our target audience and effectively communicates our brand’s unique value proposition in a compelling way.
  • Effectively balance the business strategy with the vision of our Global icon and Creative Director
  • Drive marketing calendars and complete 360 go-to-market strategies leveraging insights and analytics to achieve our brand and business goals, with a focus on increasing Brand Awareness
  • Command teams to meet goals with clear, strategic direction and monthly priorities.
  • Work closely with brand partners and cross-functional teams to drive trial and brand discovery, compelling storytelling & campaigns to build sustained broader awareness.
  • Oversee briefs and drive statuses with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, best-in-class execution, and adherence to deliverables.
  • Identify partnerships and manage integrated marketing campaigns that effectively drive brand awareness and engage our target audience.
  • Deliver end-to-end campaign plans across all channels (.com, retailers/ visual merchandising, social, etc.)
  • Manage internal and external brand, social media, PR, influencer marketing teams/agencies, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Lead the overall Brand Communications and PR strategy.
  • Oversee the Keys Soulcare social strategy, content, and community management to effectively communicate, educate and engage audiences in the story of our brand and product offerings.
  • Grow and drive our Lightworker (influencer) community to amplify the brand story, accelerate awareness and incite new audiences to discover and engage with the brand.
  • Act as a key contributor to innovation planning meetings to shape portfolio health and ensure focused product innovation in key strategic and competitive categories.
  • Leverage consumer and market insights unique to each brand to tap new opportunities to deepen penetration with focused audience targets.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to focus efforts to boost productivity and sell thru at retail.
  • Lead the development and implementation of retailer presentations, as well as launch playbooks that consolidate product details, message hierarchy, marketing concept, visual assets, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data to inform future marketing strategies.
  • Prepare regular business reports for management and stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  • BA or BS required
  • 10+ years of brand marketing experience within prestige beauty preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management with the ability to influence and work with and through cross-functional partners to advance the needs of the business
  • Must be flexible and be able to operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter, able to manage through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience developing multifaceted, innovative brand campaigns and product launch strategies, with the goal of raising brand awareness and driving new customer acquisition.
  • Experience with agency management and ownership of marketing budgets.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving sales and brand awareness.
  • Bias towards bold action and ability to execute with quality and speed.
  • Ability to think creatively, build compelling, fresh ideas with a discerning brand eye.
  • Must be team-oriented, responsive, comfortable collaborating and driving integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to bring strategic thinking and advanced design to presentation decks using Keynote and PowerPoint.
  • Thorough knowledge of market and consumer trends and a strong pulse on new launches, industry trends, as well as social and cultural conversations.

About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Corporate Communications professional to join our dynamic, high-growth company. This position is based in our New York office which is currently open in a hybrid model and reports to the Sr. Director, Corporate Communications.

The Manager, Corporate Communications will help develop and deliver a multi-pronged communications strategy to support internal communications, employee engagement, media relations and corporate-led digital communications. The Manager will create a steady flow of compelling stories for internal and external channels, including but not limited to LinkedIn and elfbeauty.com to drive awareness internally and externally while also planning, writing, and editing strategic updates, organizational announcements, and other communications. Additionally, the role will help with executive thought-leadership and purpose-led initiatives to further elevate e.l.f. Beauty.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 7+ years communications experience along with strong written and verbal communication skills – including storytelling skills – as well as strong interpersonal skills. We need someone who is a natural creative writer able to write clear, compelling narratives customized for various stakeholders across the organization frequently with and for senior executives. Strong social media experience is preferred with LinkedIn being necessary as is the strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Finally, if you have a passion for beauty, that is a definite plus!

Detailed Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Help lead employee engagement, culture & purpose activations and internal & external communications (e.g. monthly newsletter, launch of employee advocacy program, purpose-driven campaigns and events, etc).
  • Create a steady flow of compelling stories for internal and external channels, including but not limited to LinkedIn, elfbeauty.com, and company-wide emails to drive awareness internally and externally.
  • Plan, write, edit and/or proofread strategic updates, organizational announcements, and other communications, as well as supporting strategic communications plans.
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing Communications and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on communications campaigns and foster integrated approaches to internal and digital communications in addition to employee engagement.
  • Measure effectiveness of communications, looking for ways to continually modify, innovate and improve to deliver maximum value for the intended audience.
  • Help oversee corporate communications agencies, building strong partnerships that delivering against objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA, Majors in Journalism, Communications or English preferred.
  • A minimum of 7+ years communications experience.

e.l.f. Cosmetics is looking for a creative and collaborative Digital Art Director to join our dynamic, fast-paced team with a focus on the largest brand in the e.l.f. Beauty portfolio of brands – e.l.f. Cosmetics. This will be an ongoing freelance role with the opportunity for full-time conversion in the future.

As the Art Director, you will be responsible for supporting the Associate Creative Director in the conception, art direction, design, and execution of digital visual materials for ELF Cosmetics. Along with a small team, you will handle multiple projects and deliverables, translating project concepts into compelling visual stories based on marketing and business objectives. In this role, you will deliver solutions for a diverse range of marketing needs and participate in all activities related to the development of projects and storytelling across all of ELF’s digital platforms. You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of taking projects from creative concept to final delivery. A passion for beauty is a plus!

SUMMARY & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Associate Creative Director in concept & idea generation of digital collateral, including seasonal campaigns, emails, paid media, eCommerce, and social assets
  • Manage, nurture and grow a small team; coaching them to consider the customer journey throughout their designs
  • Help lead digital storytelling across all customer touchpoints, ensuring brand and message consistency throughout the consumer experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure images and design come together to create the best representation of our brand
  • Present creative concepts to internal management; addressing feedback with solution-based creative thinking
  • Design in a digital/mobile-first mindset
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with eCommerce, marketing, social and other departments whose activities intersect with creative
  • Create low-fi in-house content across photography and video to support social initiatives
  • Art Direct on set across campaigns, video, social and eCommerce shoots

SKILLS:

  • Aware of trends and new ideas within beauty and social, with the ability to interpret those into high-performing brand-right creative
  • Passion for clean/cruelty-free beauty and engaged in the social communities that support the beauty enthusiast
  • A strong eye for typography and design through a digital lens
  • Ability to lead and direct a team on set including photographers and stylists
  • Ability to balance business goals with creative vision
  • Understanding of technical constraints and digital-first design
  • Communicate information effectively with relevant members of the team throughout the creative lifecycle
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, quickly managing changing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of digital best practices and channel formats (i.e.: Instagram stories vs. display banners).
  • Ability to anticipate workload and communicate proactively with team members
  • Superior organizational and communications skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in a high volume, deadline-driven environment: fashion and technology industry experience.
  • 2+ years of direct digital design and art direction experience on set in beauty
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, deadline-driven.
  • Experience working in an in-house environment and/or E-Commerce.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative manner and a highly creative out-of-the-box thinker
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Experience collaborating with talent on set
  • Understanding of current fashion, beauty, design and digital trends
  • Experience working with eCommerce personalization and UX/UI a plus
