Responsibilities

Job Description

• Facilitate remote (@Home) productions between a Stamford-based Control Room and at remote truck on-site for multiple events across the country, working with both Stamford-based and remote Engineering and Operations staff.
• Keep up to date with all relevant production technologies and be prepared to make recommendations for improving workflows.
• Provide front line engineering and technical support across five (5) studios and nine (9) control rooms.
• Perform system level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including, but not limited to, control rooms, studio equipment, audio equipment, and computer systems associated with those areas
• Perform preventative maintenance on studio & control room equipment
• Assist Studio Operations with control room and studio technical setup.
• Interface with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions to meet production initiatives
• Perform equipment and systems software installation and updates.
• Repair/troubleshoot equipment to module level utilizing industry standard test equipment

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience in remote/mobile unit operations/engineering
• 5+ years of total experience in a television broadcast environment or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Experience with robotic camera systems
• College degree in engineering or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
• Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms.
• Proficient with broadcast production systems and software including Audio Consoles, Intercom Systems, Video Switchers, Wireless audio, server-based playout, and communications systems.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networks and other PC networking technologies.
• Understanding of digital TV (HDSDI) as well as core technical/plant facilities.
• Proficient in software-driven broadcast video equipment.
• Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities.
• In-depth understanding of wireless audio and communication technologies
• Position requires excellent interpersonal skills. The position requires a cool, levelheaded individual who works well under the pressures of “live” television
• Hands-on, problem-solving skills with broadcast-related equipment and systems.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the digital evolution of the NBC News Group, specifically in the support of our Direct to Consumer products for NBC News Digital, such as CNBC Pro and Jim Cramer’s Investor Club.

• As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will partner with the Product, Operations, Design, and Editorial teams to bring NBC News Digital content to life. Role Purpose:

Provide front line broadcast engineering and technical support across five studios and eight control rooms. The main duties of this position are supporting all broadcast systems and technology within the Stamford Sports facility for day of air live programs, troubleshooting of broadcast hardware and systems, complying with computer security protocols as well as handling a project load including system design, integration and system commissioning. This job entails a broad combination of Maintenance and Project Management/System Engineering. The support needs span 7 days a week and at many points in the year are part of a 24×7 schedule.

NBC News Digital – inclusive of NBC News and TODAY Digital – is seeking a Commerce Partnerships Coordinator to support the management of merchant relationships, partnerships-driven editorial content executions, and the Shop TODAY Deals program.

In this role, you will be the communication nexus between the TODAY and NBC News editorial teams, the merchant, and TODAY producers. You will serve as an internal advocate in helping the TODAY Digital and NBC News teams bring our merchant partnerships to life through commerce-driven digital content and experiences.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and be able to coordinate with many different departments at one time. This role will work closely with the TODAY and Select editorial teams, the Custom Productions team, and the VP of Commerce. They will report into the Director of Partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Operate as the lead coordinator for the NBC News Commerce Partnerships team and support in the management of key strategic commerce accounts and relationships
• Own execution of paid editorial campaigns, collecting required creative assets, product samples, and brand guidelines to prepare content for launch
• File and track all products through the vetting process for Steals and Deals, other TODAY Deals initiatives
• Shepard the products in a timely manner from info center to legal/standards and then to the appropriate producer
• Prepare decks and presentations for marketing proposals, post-campaign reporting, and internal performance reporting

Qualifications

Experience: 1+ years in ad sales, marketing, or ecommerce a plus

• Work with both internal company departments and the Olympic Committee to review, submit, and manage all NBC credential materials (2,000+, including the Client Program)
• Assist in any on-site distribution of credentials at the NBC Office in the Main Accreditation Center (MAC) and International Broadcast Center (IBC)
