About the Role

The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and validating assets according to service specifications and the distribution (delivery) of content to broadcasters and digital service providers.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring efficient, secure, and complete intake and delivery of all digital assets, into our platforms, as detailed and agreed upon in the Delivery List.
  • Working with various cross-functional teams to ensure the flow of production media assets through the Company is efficient, secure, and optimized, with a key focus on developing and executing best practices.
  • Evaluating received metadata reports and partnering with internal and external teams to resolve basic issues.
  • Assisting various initiatives focused on improving and developing the intake, review, sharing, and distribution of production media assets.
  • Monitor and parse a high volume and time sensitive order queue
  • Ensure source assets are restored and conformed as required
  • Validate metadata, image, video, audio and timed text media assets against a variety of client and internal specifications
  • Package source assets and metadata as per servicing profile specifications
  • Communicate and document internal rejections to the appropriate teams
  • Verify integrity of deliverables and delivery package prior to servicing
  • Maintain servicing action logs as needed
  • Other tasks as needed to meet project deadlines

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of various media formats such as video, audio, image and timed text.
  • Understanding of industry format standards such as PAL, NTSC, timecode, framerate, codec, audio settings/configurations, metadata (title and technical – html, xml)
  • Understand media encoding, transcoding, and file transfer protocol
  • Understanding of Broadcast Deliverable Specifications
  • Knowledge of Media Transfer Mechanisms (Aspera, Signiant, etc)
  • Understanding if Media Content Protection
  • Understanding of SOP Security Protocols
  • Proficient skills working effectively in a fast-paced team environment managing high volumes of orders without error.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and is self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and communication skills
  • Ability and interest to work in a geographically diverse environment

Preferred Skills:

  • General Editing/Studio/TV/Film/Pre or Post-production experience
  • Experience in UHD, HDR, 4k, 6k (Dolby Vision/HDR10)
  • Experience with metadata formats, including but not limited to XML, CSV, XLS, and HTML/CSS
  • Experience with workflows in multiple locations across multiple time zones
  • Ability to learn and process information quickly is a plus.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience in working at an Entertainment or Media company.

  • This position is based in Stamford, CT 06902 and is an in-office-based position.

**This position may be required to work 106 am-2:30 pm or 3:30 pm-12 am, plus overtime depending on business needs.

Job Description

The Producer will be responsible for developing and producing news packages needed for different newscasts.

Job Duties

  • Research, write and produce strong editorial copy and packages with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Produce live segments, including writing sharp questions and identifying the most robust possible elements when booking guests
  • Pitch the most relevant, timely, and compelling ideas for day-of and future segments
  • Quality checks all video content and keeps Executive Producer and Line Producer up to date with daily news development of assigned stories
  • Secure elements such as sound bites and video to support segments and packages
  • Generate original guest ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources for ideas
  • Support correspondents with interviews, coordination, and script revision as well as supervise the editing
  • Field producer on locations when needed
  • Work with the local NBC Production Support team when additional technical support is needed such as extra audio personnel and gear
  • Be responsible for finding locations for live shots, preparing permits, location releases, and needed Insurance paperwork for those locations
  • Will work directly with other teams in all aspects including when large show remotes happen throughout the year
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Job Description

The Production Engineer I is responsible for the smooth operation of daily tasks and troubleshooting. This individual will be responsible for day to day activity in the Postproduction, graphic and studio areas. The position is responsible for experienced level troubleshooting and support as well as participating in short and long-term strategic planning of all broadcast technology.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the smooth operation of Graphics and Post-Production for the facility acting as a front-line support, that can trouble shoot and diagnosis technical errors
  • Responsible for confirming that equipment used in the Graphics and postproduction process works properly.
  • Works with external providers to resolve technical and workflow issues with provided equipment and systems.
  • Implementation of a routine preventative maintenance program, that includes software and hardware updates.
  • Installing Video, Audio and Graphic equipment
  • Regulates, documents and implements procedures
  • Responsible for the support of both Live and Post-Production operations within the facility.
  • Passionate about the Graphics process, excited by new technologies and opportunities and ready to help develop and improve the existing process and infrastructure.
  • Proficient at communicating both problems and solutions to technical and non-technical personnel alike and will help develop new processes, technologies, and techniques, which will help to improve the running of the facility.
  • Desire to be proactive and enhance the department needs

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the technical support of Graphics and Post-Production Facility or operation.
  • BS degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge and experience with Mac systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe CS Production Bundle & C4D, render solutions,
  • Knowledge and experience with Avid Media Composer, Interplay, and Nexis preferred

  • Experience and understanding of network production is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of MAC OS and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Working knowledge of data transfer acceleration systems such as File Catalyst, Aspera, Signiant and SFTP.
  • Experience and understanding of anti-piracy measures and the relationship with IT security in a Graphics and Post-Production environment.
  • Good understanding of modern Graphics and Post-Production workflows and media management.
  • Ability and desire to learn new production technologies.
  • Experience with VM platforms a plus.
