Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in all rehearsals and performances for the Spring mid-scale tour.
• Collaborate closely with the artistic director and company artists in research and development workshops.
• Uphold the high standards of performance and professionalism associated with Phoenix Dance Theatre.
• Engage in community and outreach programs as part of the company’s initiatives.
• Contribute creatively to the choreographic and artistic process.

• Male-identifying contemporary dancer with a strong classical foundation.
• Proven performance experience in contemporary dance.

Community Lead – Creative Dance Workshops Casting Call

Are you passionate about dance and community engagement? We’re excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Community Lead. This role involves developing and coordinating dance workshops and projects within the Leeds community and touring areas across the UK.

Job Details:

• Salary: £23,000 (pro rata), progressing to a maximum of £27,000 based on experience and performance.
• Hours: 28 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging and innovative dance workshops tailored for diverse community groups.

This project aims to capture the passion, creativity, and cultural significance of food through the lens of characters deeply connected to the world of professional cooking.

Job Responsibilities: The selected individuals will play pivotal roles as South Asian men with a background in professional cooking, specifically in kitchens or restaurants. The characters are integral to the narrative, and the actors/non-actors will be responsible for bringing authenticity and depth to their roles. The film will delve into the challenges, triumphs, and personal stories of individuals immersed in the culinary world, offering a unique perspective on the South Asian culinary scene in London.

Requirements:

• South Asian men in their 20s or 30s.
• Demonstrated experience in cooking professionally within kitchens or restaurants.
• Genuine passion for and knowledge of South Asian cuisine.
• Availability for filming in mid-December 2023.
• Must be located in or able to travel to London for the shoot.

Project: (Don’t) Say My Name – Short Dance Film

Location: UK (with potential international travel)

Job Details: We are seeking a talented and dynamic female contemporary dancer for our upcoming short dance film project, “(Don’t) Say My Name.” The film will be shot in various locations in the UK and potentially abroad.

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute complex choreography with precision and emotion.
• Collaborate with the choreographer and fellow dancers to develop and refine movement sequences.
• Embody and portray a specific character within the narrative of the film.
• Engage in partner work, demonstrating strength and trust with other performers.
• Adapt to potentially challenging outdoor shooting environments.

Requirements:
