Production Title: Atlanta Actors/Dancers Casting Call

Job Description: Casting directors are now casting actors and dancers to work on scenes filming in Atlanta, Dance and Music Academy, on Jul 5th o/a Sept 11. Must be available to work full-time. 

Casting: Actors/Dancers

• Female
• Multi Ethnic
• Age 25-45 years old
  • Some dialogue. Strong skills in different urban dance styles: voguing, contemporary, hip hop, jazz/funk
  • Charismatic, with a strong stage presence and good physical acting
  • She will dance, improvise and interact with the audience
  • No tattoos on arms, back, neck or face
  • Must be 5’5” – 5’8” tall
  • Atlanta-based talent only, or talent that can work as an Atlanta local

Rate: $1500/week

• This is a period piece meaning no fake lashes, nails must be uncolored and natural, no heavy drawn on brows.
• No visible piercing or tattoos.

• No unnatural hair colors.

Production Description:

Based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Color Purple is a Tony Award-winning musical about love, hope, and redemption.
Set in the deep south in the 1930s, Celie Harris is a poor, uneducated black woman who is constantly abused by her father and her husband. She has two children that she never sees and is forced to work as a maid for her husband’s family.

Celie begins to find hope when she meets Sofia, a feisty black woman who stands up for herself and her family. Sofia teaches Celie that she deserves to be respected and loved. Celie also forms a close bond with Shug Avery, an unconventional woman who helps Celie see the beauty in herself.

The Color Purple is a story of strength and resilience in the face of adversity. It is a powerful tale of love, sisterhood, and hope that will stay with you long after the curtain falls.

Job Description: Casting directors are now casting extras to work on scenes filming in Atlanta, Georgia on June 2022 – September 2022

Roles: Core Student Background Actors

•  Ages 9-25 years old
• Any gender, any ethnicity
• Core student extras will work in a variety of middle school scenes.
• We will be casting both minors and adults that can portray students.
• No facial hair will be permitted.

Covid Test: TBA

• Testing is located in Norcross, GA.
  
• No outside tests are accepted.

• While at the test facility and on set, PPE must be worn.
