Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
TelemundoChicago.com is looking for an exceptional, driven Spanish-language writer with experience covering Chicago-area news and politics for a news website. Our candidate must be an extremely effective multitasker with top-notch local news judgment, a proven track-record of both breaking news and in-depth writing, and incredible attention to detail. This person works equally well solo as in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
Job Duties
- Cover Chicago-area news across platforms for TelemundoChicago.com: web, app, social media and push alerts
- Report stories from the digital desk, competitively in breaking news. Candidate must feel comfortable gathering news by making phone calls, verifying content on social media and working with reporters in the field.
- Send push alerts and post to social media in breaking news events
- Produce breaking news events across multiple platforms by collaborating with assignment desk, reporters, news staff and independent sources
- Quickly learn a website’s audience and write and distribute content based on this audience.
- Create multimedia content to enhance daily news coverage (i.e. video, live streams, slideshows)
- Edit videos for all digital platforms with accuracy and creativity
- Execute all publishing workflows for video, images and text
- Enforce editorial style guides, standards and practices
- Identify relevant stories of the day and engage our local audience across multiple platforms
- Solicit user-generated content to enhance both on-air and online news coverage
- Coordinate with news producers to cross-promote on-air and online content
- Create and write Spanish language content from English language sources
- Ensure the integrity, voice, tone and mix of content fits with the overall editorial strategy created by the Telemundo Stations Group Digital Unit.
- Collaborate with content centers in other local markets to share stories and resources across all Telemundo’s and NBC’s city/stations’ websites
- Abide by the ethical standards of the Telemundo Station Group when creating and producing content for all platforms.

Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to write for digital
- Must have experience in a newsroom
- Must be a skilled writer with outstanding communication skills.
- Must be fluent in writing and speaking Spanish and English
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President – Americas Marketing & DTC, this role will lead the Weber Creative Team to develop and execute a wide range of creative strategies and executions for the Global and US businesses, inclusive of new product assets for all launches, support for marketing channels with special focus on owned channels, packaging, digital content experiences and more. Proven experience working with internal and external teams and agencies to contribute to and deliver against an insightful, well-coordinated integrated marketing plan is essential to being successful in this role. The person in this role should be prepared to flex both their creative and analytical muscles in the following areas.
Primary responsibilities:
- Report directly to VP of US Marketing & DTC
- Serve as an active member on Weber’s Brand Council, a group designed to develop global brand fundamentals, short and long-term brand building strategies and clear guidelines that drive consistency across Weber’s brand efforts.
- Support Brand Council’s vision for Weber’s brand creative expression with particular attention to the definition of Weber’s brand voice, look and feel. Strongly influence the messaging strategy and creative expression of brand, product and content marketing campaigns.
- Drive exploration and strategy during the entire creative process, from concept through completion.
- Develop original, breakthrough creative ideas for a variety of marketing and brand experience touchpoints (brand foundation, video, campaign, packaging, social media, CRM, point of sale, owned retail, etc.).
- Work across functions, balancing the needs of partners and break down complex narratives into simple, compelling ideas.
- Empower and energize an outstanding creative team through developing programs and forums for mentorship and skill growth.
- Act as a promoter for the Weber Creative Studio. Be an active participant in the creative community within and outside of Weber.
- Has an ability to guide team through high demands, complex processes and a matrixed organization, ultimately leading to high productivity and streamlined workflows.
- Manage and grow a team of designers, production artists and copy writers.
- Fluent in different types of campaigns including awareness, lead-gen, and engagement.
- Thinks through end-to-end campaign experiences and engages with marketing teams to connect campaigns to content and site experiences.
- Ability to work on a range of digital experiences from landing pages to comprehensive sites – and to propose full Consumer Experience optimizations, in addition to copy and content.

OVERVIEW
The Records and Digital Archiving Assistant is responsible for assisting in all daily Records and Digital Archiving Department functions. This position provides internal and external customer service relating to all records program services and initiatives. Creating new files, fulfilling file requests, and assisting with the maintenance of the Records Management System are key functions of the role.
This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Associate Director of Records and Digital Archiving. The work schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with additional hours as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Intermediate level computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior experience in maintaining a records management system, LegalKey and FileTrail preferred
