Facebook is looking to add Uber-like features to their social network.
It seems as if Facebook is looking to upgrade their events page functions by helping people actually get to the event.
A patent was filed on January 28th details how Facebook plans on incorporating a ride-sharing service.
Basically, instead of only clicking yes or no to RSVP to the event, you will have the option to choose whether you will need a ride or if you’re willing to pick people up.
You will then be linked with people who will be carpooling to the event.
According to the patents, Facebook will try to minimize the chance that the ride is a completely awkward experience. It will utilize personal information to match you up with people Facebook thinks you will get a long with.
Isn’t it surprising that Facebook is looking to improve their events feature? The company did point out that over 500 million people used its events function to create over 120 million events.
What do you think of the possible development?
