Former star of Power Rangers Samurai was arrested for ‘murdering roommate with a sword’.
Ricardo Medina Jr, 37, allegedly stabbed his roomate in the stomach on Saturday. The actor played the Red Ranger on TV but was arrested today after killing Joshua Sutter. Sheriffs say that the two engaged in an argument and Medina pulled out a sharp weapon stabbing his roommate in the stomach.
Ricardo Medina Jr, was arrested in Palmdale, California, Saturday and charged with killing Joshua Sutter by stabbing him in the abdomen with the sharp weapon. Medina, who reportedly called 911 himself, was taken into custody by the LA County Sherriff’s Department, according to a report on TMZ.
Sutter was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. According to local station ABC7, the fight took place around 3:50pm.
Ricardo Medina who played the Red Ranger in 2002’s Power Rangers Wild Force series before appearing in the Samurai movie, had been fleeing Sutter when the stabbing took place.
He allegedly ran into his girlfriend’s room after an argument broke out between the men.
When Sutter forced his way in, the report says, Medina lashed out fatally with his sword.
His bail has been set at one million dollars.
