Lionsgate announces new Tyler Perry movies are coming soon.
Following the success of Tyler Perry’s Madea Halloween, Lionsgate says they are releasing two more Tyler Perry movies, according to Deadline.
Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween earned $56.4M after only two weeks in the box office, beating A-list actors, Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks, in the box office. Now, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced that the study will be producing two more Tyler Perry movies and one of those will continue the Madea franchise.
From Deadline:
“While the quarter included two films that we hoped would do better, we were very pleased with Madea’s Halloween,” said Feltheimer to analysts after releasing their earnings today, saying that they believe in the Perry brand. The last film, given the holiday (release date), the comedy was clearly crossing over to other demos.
This means more acting jobs and film opportunities for Georgia’s already booming film industry. In fact, Tyler Perry is now filming and casting for the second season of his hit TLC series Too Close to Home.
