Kate Winslet Reveals Why She Keeps Her Oscar in the Bathroom

Date:

Kate Winslet explains why she keeps her Oscar in her bathroom.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal magazine, the Steve Jobs star explains why she chose a weird place to keep her Oscar and also talks about her failed marriages.

While many prefer to display their trophies in the living room or in an office, Kate Winslet chose a weird place to keep her Oscar. The Titanic actress reveals in a new interview with WSJ magazine that she keeps the gong, which she won for her role in The Reader, in her bathroom.

The 39-year-old English actress has a good reason for it. “The whole point is for everybody to pick it up and go, ‘I’d like to thank my son and my dad’-and you can always tell when someone has, because they’re in there a little bit longer after they flushed,” she says. “They’ll come out looking slightly pink-cheeked. It’s hysterical.”

In addition, Kate Winslet also talks about her failed marriages to Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes. “No one really knows what has happened in my life,” says the actress who will appear in “Steve Jobs“. “No one really knows why my first marriage didn’t last; no one knows why my second didn’t. And I’m proud of those silences.”

“I know lots of people who are not in the public eye who have gone through several marriages, I really do, and it’s just those are the cards that life dealt me. I didn’t plan on it being that way. And f**k me, it hasn’t been easy, you know,” she admits.

The mother of three is now happily married to Ned Rocknroll. “Thank God for Ned – really,” she sings praise for her third husband. “He’s just so incredibly supportive, and he’s so much fun. He’s absolutely everything to me. And to all of us.”
