Showtime just announced their plans for a Jim Carrey TV series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Carrey is currently working on a TV series.
According to reports, Jim Carrey’s new TV series, ‘I’m Dying Up Here’ is an hourlong drama set in the 1970s L.A. comedy scene and will be written and executive produced by stand up comedian Dave Flebotte from Will & Grace. The dark comedy pilot will go into the world of stand-up comedy and what makes people laugh.
Jim Carrey, the Canadian-American actor, is typically known for his slapstick comedy and in the 90s he became one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood. Getting his start with sketch comedy ‘In Living Color’. Since then he has worked on dozens of movies including ‘The Truman Show’, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguin’s.
Most notably, in 2013, he appeared in ‘Kick-Ass 2’ as Colonel Stars and Stripes. Following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary the actor bashed the movie. He issued a statement via his Twitter account that, in light of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary, “[N]ow in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence.”
Most recently, he played Lloyd Christmas in ‘Dumb and Dumber To‘ which received negative reviews but making well over $170 million in the box office.
