Edgar Wright,”Ant-Man” Director, Quits Filming

The director of Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man”, Edgar Wright, has dropped out of the production after having creative differences.

According to recent reports, Marvel is looking into finding a new filmmaker for “Ant Man”. When Wright announced his departure from the multi-million dollar production, Marvel announced that “a new director will be announced shortly.” But, according to Variety, Marvel is not in negotiations with anyone yet.

Edgar Wright was attached to “Ant-Man” since 2006, prior to the first “Iron Man” movies. He would go to San Diego Comic Con to announce production updates, and how the development of “Ant Man” is going. In 2012, he ben showed test footage of the new Ant-Man movie.

According to the announcement Edgar Wright and Marvel separated “due to differences in their vision of the film,” the company and director said in a statement.

If you are wondering, according to reports, the impact on the new release date of July 17, 2015 will not be affected.

Marvel is looking into developing “Ant-Man” as a new franchise series and use it to eventually lead into the “Guardians of the Galaxy”.

Marvel’s Ant-Man is the alter-ego of biochemist Hank Pym, who uses a formula to change an object’s size and when tests go wrong, Pym realizes that he can also talk and control insects.

Edgar Wright is from Poole, Dorset, England. He is a director and writer, known for Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007) and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010).
