Steve Carell’s Mother Dies the Day Before Mother’s Day

Steve Carell’s mother dies the day before Mother’s Day.

Steve Carell has announced that his mother died a day before Mother’s Day. The 53-year-old actor has posted on Twitter that his mother Harriet Carell died Saturday at the age of 90, Carell added a simple note, “Love You Mom.” Carell’s publicist confirmed the death. From Chicago Sun Times:

Kathleen Doran Boyle, who’s the director of Acton Funeral Home in Massachusetts, says Harriet Carell died at her Acton home surrounded by family. Aside from Steve, an online obituary says she has three other children and is survived by six grandchildren.

Steve Carell has had a long career in Hollywood. As a veteran improv comedian and alumnus at Second City he is known for such movies as The Big Short and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. 

RIP Harriet Carell.
