Directed by Susanne Bier and written by Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), Practical Magic 2 will continue the magical legacy of the Owens family. The sequel was first announced by Warner Bros. Pictures in June 2024, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman confirmed to reprise their iconic roles while also serving as producers alongside Denise Di Novi.
By January 2025, Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier was in talks to helm the project, officially confirmed in May 2025. Filming kicked off on July 18, 2025, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England, with cinematographer Simon Duggan (The Great Gatsby) behind the camera.
