Tavis Tate theater casting call for Asian actors in New York City.

Casting directors are now casting actors to work on scenes filmed in New York City on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Producers are looking for the following talent: 

Roles:

  • SAHIL-30s, POC, preferably of East Asian descent, too cool for school but also for everyone else, stubborn but essentially has deep desires that he wants to fulfill.
  • URIEL -30s, Non-binary (they/them), POC, preferably Black, an ethereal, calming presence that enchanted and charms his followers, they would wear flow-y clothing, guru-like energy, maybe very tall commanding presence as well.
  • DARREN – 30s, POC, practical, Type A, Capricorn, eats lots of vegetables everyday, probably has a savings account and/or a Roth IRA.

Acting Tips in Theater

When it comes to performing on stage, posture is essential. Good posture can help you look more confident and make your movements appear more natural. Stand up straight and keep your arms relaxed at your sides. Make sure that your feet are shoulder-width apart for balance and solid footing. Remember the audience’s perspective when you’re onstage – remember to open yourself up so they can see your gestures.

To project a strong character, it’s essential to use voice correctly while acting. When you speak, maintain reasonable breath control and strive for a full range of volume and pitch during dialogue delivery and monologues. Pay attention to the other actors’ cues, and be sure to protect your lines in an audible and clear way.

It takes practice to perfect acting skills, so rehearse often. When preparing for a show, take the time to deeply explore the character you are portraying and their motivations for each scene. Try out different approaches and experiment with pacing, volume, and other performance elements until it feels natural on stage.

Finally, stay focused when performing – don’t get sidetracked by thoughts or distractions during a production. Take some deep breaths before a scene starts and focus on connecting with the other actors while being mindful of what is happening onstage. Put yourself entirely into your performance and immerse
