Summary
I Play Rocky is an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature film that tells the behind-the-scenes story of how Sylvester Stallone turned his underdog script into the Oscar-winning classic Rocky. With Anthony Ippolito cast as Stallone and Peter Farrelly directing, the project captures grit, perseverance, and cinematic history. If you’ve ever dreamed of being part of a landmark film, here’s your chance—casting is now open.
About I Play Rocky
Unlike the boxing matches inside the ring, I Play Rocky explores Stallone’s biggest fight: convincing Hollywood to let him play Rocky Balboa. Stallone rejected lucrative offers to sell his script without acting in it, betting everything on himself. That gamble turned into the 1976 blockbuster Rocky, which went on to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
The new feature will authentically recreate 1970s New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. It blends intimate drama with boxing spectacle—making it a unique opportunity for both trained athletes and actors to get cast.
