Ronda Rousey to star in the upcoming ‘Road House‘ reboot.
Ronda Rousey is transitioning into a Hollywood faster than she knocks out opponents in the octagon. According to Variety, Ronda Rousey will star in the upcoming Road House reboot.
MGM is currently will screenwriters to start production in 2016.
Road House originally premiered in 1989 and featured Patrick Swayze. It would be the movie that would help launch Patrick Swayze’s career as an actor. The movie centers around a bounce who is hired to clean up one of the rowdiest, loudest bars in Missouri, The Double Deuce. Patrick Swayze’s character was forced to protect the two from corrupt businessmen. The movie became a major Box Office hit.
Ronda Rousey embraced the chance of starring in a remake, but wanted to be respectful when it came to acking in the projecting. Variety reports taht Rousey reached out to Patrick Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi asking for her blessing, Niemi gave the okay.
This will be Ronda Rousey’s biggest acting project to date. Ronda Rousey has worked on four projects so far and this will be the fourth movie specifically developed for Rousey, following her biopic My Fight/Your Fight, Athena Project and Mile 22.
Filming for Ronda Rousey’s Road House reboot is expected to start filming this February, following Rousey’s next big fight against Holly Holm on November 14th.
Rousey has had a major acting career so far this year, appearing in Furious 7 and the Entourage movie.
