ABC Talent Search 2016 is Looking for YOU

ABC’s annual talent search is currently underway and the network has started accepting submission for their 2016 ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition.

Actors 18 and older can apply by submitting a video audition on ABCDiscovers.com of them performing one of the comedy or drama monologues posted on the ABC website. The performers are then judged by quality of performance, potential star power and technical skill. The prize this year is a $25,000 talent deal with ABC. The top 10 finalists will then be posted on their website Jul 22nd and the winner will be announced on July 26.

This year’s competition features two videos focusing on actors and the process of working with them. The first video focuses on Wendi McLendon-Covey from The Goldbergs, Randall Park from the hit show Fresh Off the Boat, and Ken Jeong from The Hangover franchise and Dr. Ken. The acotrs discuss their journey as an actor and how they made it in the film industry.

The second video features the executive producers from the hit shows black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat and Secrets and Lies giving a behind-the-scenes look at the process of working with actors in a TV series.

The Digital Talent Competition is part of ABC Discovers, an initiative that includes New York and Los Angeles Talent showcases,Actor Audition Workshop Week, Latino/Hispanic Outreach, Asian/Pacific Islander Outreach and Global Talent Outreach. The 2015 Digital Competition winner was Cornelius Smith Jr. and now has a recurring role on ABC’s hit TV show Scandal.
