Utility Technician – Live Sports Broadcast Job in Arlington, TX

Be part of the high-energy broadcast crew for a live sports event as a Utility Technician. In this role, you’ll support technical operations from start to finish, assisting with the setup, execution, and teardown of broadcast equipment. Tasks include cable layout and coiling, loading and unloading heavy cases, and assisting camera and lighting teams. This role offers real experience in live television and requires both physical readiness and strong attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities

  • Load and unload broadcast equipment and cases from production trucks

  • Layout, pull, and coil cables for camera and audio use

  • Carry camera batteries and assist operators as needed

  • Support lighting and scenic departments, including working at heights

  • Assist with setup on scaffolding and rooftops when required

Requirements

  • Must live within 65 miles of the venue

  • Must be 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Minimum of 7 live remote shows as a regional utility crew member

  • Familiarity with broadcast TV gear, including cameras, monitors, and cables

  • Skilled in organizing, wrapping, and maintaining clean cable setups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Firsthand experience working at the venue or similar production environments
