Job Description: Kahleen Crawford Casting is seeking a Scottish boy to play the role of Lyle, a young, working-class character from Priesthill in Glasgow, in the upcoming musical Wild Rose at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh. This is a paid role requiring acting, singing, and some dancing/movement skills. Lyle is the youngest of Rose-Lyne’s kids and is a bright, funny, and kind-hearted 9-year-old with a strong Glasgow accent.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform the role of Lyle with authenticity, bringing out his humor, brightness, and innocence.
- Act, sing, and participate in dance or movement sequences as directed.
- Work collaboratively with the cast, crew, and creative team during rehearsals and performances.
- Be prepared for a structured rehearsal schedule and maintain a professional attitude in line with child performance regulations.
Requirements:
- Scottish boys aged 9-12 with a Glasgow accent.
- Must be 9 years or older by January 2025 due to licensing and working restrictions.
- Based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or surrounding areas with the ability to commute for rehearsals and performances.
- Comfortable with acting, singing, and some dance or movement.
- Parent or guardian consent is required for applicants under 16.
- Availability for scheduled rehearsals and performance run.
