You may hate the Robertson family but they are not going anywhere anytime soon. The Duck Dynasty family has stirred up a ton of controversy following racist and homophobic remarks. But, now the family plans on expanding their brand beyond TV and onto Broadway.
According to reports, The Duck Dynasty family is currently producing a Duck Dynasty musical. The family will be turning Willie Robertson’s 2012 book, The Duck Commander Family, into a Las Vegas musical.
“The show will end up challenging the views and assumptions of people across the political spectrum, more than most theater does,” said Michael David, the Broadway producer who is developing the show and has mounted Broadway hits like “Jersey Boys” and flops like “Good Vibrations.”
“The Robertsons are so unusual, their story so juicy, and theater shouldn’t be limited to telling stories about people you resemble or revere,” added Mr. David, whose long gray beard could make him an honorary Robertson. (Via the New York Times)

1. Improve Acting Skills
To even get the chance to perform in front of people, an actor must first understand how to act. That means taking acting workshops, improv classes, voice actor lessons, or hiring a personal acting coach. An actor must be able to improve their acting abilities and skills consistently so that their acting always appears realistic and entertaining even though it may be forced and rehearsed. 2. Market yourself as an actor
Developing the best acting skills is useless if nobody knows that you are trying to become an actor. So the next task an actor must complete is figuring out how to market themselves in the entertainment industry. This involves attending open casting calls, performing in network showcases, contacting talent agents, and promoting yourself on social media. Vin Diesel landed a role on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy not because of his acting abilities but because he had a huge social media following. By showing producers that you have a fan and talent base, you are more likely to land a role because producers are interested in making money. 3. Learn how to audition
Auditioning in front of casting directors is a difficult process and even though you may not hear about this but, actors have to audition for roles over and over again until finally landing a role. Furthermore, each casting director is different and requires and demands different things. It is important to understand what that particular casting director wants and learning how to transform your acting abilities to fit that particular role.
4. Build a reputation for being consistent and reliable
After an actor lands a role, the job of the actor is to show up on time, perform and take directions. As an actor, you take the ideas the producers and writers have and bring them to life and your dialogue is the most important part to creating a story that people want to watch. Outside of acting abilities here are 5 things producers, directors and movie studios look for in an actor.
An actor that is always on time
An actor knows their lines
An actor that is reliable and consistent
An actor that is easy to work with
An actor that will go above and beyond to make the scene come to life.
After your acting gig is over your job starts all over again. But, if you do not know how to act or never learn how to improve your acting skills, you may never make it past the audition process. However, learning how to market yourself is just as important as becoming a better actor.
Overall acting requires professionalism and dedication
Becoming an actor is not like going to medical school. There is no set pathway or guidebook that will get you to the big screen. But, you have to be dedicated to learning and committed to being professional. Professionalism can go a long way in the entertainment industry.

TNT cancels Franklin & Bash after four seasons. The buddy legal drama has finally hit the end of the road. TNT has pulled the plug on Franklin & Bash after several years of bad ratings.
TNT has opted not to order a fifth season of the legal buddy dramedy Franklin & Bash starring Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. This happens to be the first major programming decision since Turner Broadcasting last week brought in Kevin Reilly to oversee TNT and TBS. Franklin & Bash got off to a solid start in 2011 but has been slipping in the past couple of years. Its most recent fourth season started with 1.25 million viewers, down -60% from the Season 3 opener. The season and now series finale drew 975,000 viewers. [Deadline]
TNT is currently changing their future line up and getting rid of shows that were no longer successful. According to Turner Broadcasting President David Levy, “It’s an evolution, a bridge-type process that will take place as opposed to a turnaround. You are going to see shows like Legends and Public Morals that are going to bring us on a path to a more edgier type of shows; this is a path we are taking.”
Franklin & Bosh centered around Lawyers and lifelong friends Jared Franklin and Peter Bash are recruited by a large firm’s major partner after winning a high-profile case.
The pilot was filmed in Atlanta in late March and early April. In May 2010, the show was moved from TBS to sister station TNT, where network executives believed it was a better fit. The network green-lit production in mid-May with a ten episode order, with production moving to Los Angeles.
The show was never really popular with critics. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the show holds a 41% rating with people calling it “Slick, playful, and occasionally witty, Franklin & Bash unfortunately sticks too close to the courtroom drama formula”.

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart team up for Central Intelligence. New Line Cinema’s Central Intelligence movie will feature The Rock and Kevin hart in a new action comedy.
Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are teaming up for the new movie Central Intelligence. According to Variety, following the success of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s ‘Jump Street’ series, New Line Cinema plans on creating their own buddy action comedy franchise.
Central Intelligence story starts with a class reunion approaching, as a former high school sports star turned accountant ( Kevin Hart) is contacted by a classmate (Johnson) who was bullied and humiliated back in the day. The “loser” that the accountant remembers is now a CIA contract killer who ropes him into helping foil a plot to sell classified military secrets.
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have Hollywood on fire. Johnson has several projects lined up including San Andreas, two more Journey to the Center of the Earth sequels, and a new HBO TV series Ballers. Kevin Hart has just finished working with Ice Cube on Ride Along 2 and Will Ferrell for Get Hard.

New York City Casting Calls – HBO Show Me a Hero casting call for a funeral scene filming in NYC.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tells No Tales is currently filming in Queensland, Australia and is now casting speaking roles and hiring crew members to work on the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 features Johnny Depp,Orlando Bloom, and Javier Bardem and will center around Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) as he under goes another thrilling adventure with the help of his pirate crew. The Walking Dead Spoilers Alert : If you have not watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 5, share this article with someone who has!
Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead gave us an inside look at the back story of Abraham, played by actor Michael Cudlitz. Hours before the episode premiered Cudlitz revealed to his Twitter followers that this episode almost never made it to the air.
The idea that the episode was almost banned seems pretty ridiculous. The Walking Dead airs at a late hour, and with modern technology parents now have the ability to block certain channels and programs. In addition, the violence depicted in the episode was typical for any other Walking Dead episode. Hopefully, The Walking Dead will continue to express their creative freedom because, it is this freedom that allows for The Walking Dead to be the most watched show on television.
However, the episode featured several scenes that could have possible upset viewers, and most importantly the censors. Details as to why the episode was almost banned were never revealed. But, here are our best guesses as to why the episode was nearly banned from television.
3 Reasons Why The Walking Dead Episode Was Nearly Censored
#1. The Sex Scene
For the first time in several seasons, The Walking Dead featured a sex scene. It was probably the most explicit sex scene aired in the history of The Walking Dead.
#2. Showing a child getting ripped apart by zombies
In the episode we learned a lot about Abraham’s past including how he lost his family and seeing his kids eaten by zombies. It is possible that censors thought this scene was too realistic and morbid for television.
#3. Abraham beating someone with a can.
The most horrific scene came at the beginning of the episode when Abraham is seen beating four men to death using a can of beans. Censors could have been upset with how well Michael Cudlitz acted in the scene.
Overall, it is currently a mystery and we may never know why the censors nearly banned the episode. However, it begs the question, should The Walking Dead be censored? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!
Daniel Radcliffe drank antifreeze on the set of the movie ‘Horns’.
Daniel Radcliffe recently revealed how he nearly died on Conan O’Brien. According to Harry Potter, Horns was filmed in Canada, so water on set had to be routinely mixed with anti-freeze to prevent pipes from freezing. Unfortunately for the actor, Radcliffe accident drank “full cup of non-potable water, which I guess was half anti-freeze.” He was sick for three days. But, that’s not the end of the story. After he was able to get back on set he accidentally drank another cup of Antifreeze. His hair and make-up people told him. “Don’t do that! That’s crazy, you can’t drink that water!”
Antifreeze is a toxic, colorless, odorless, almost nonvolatile liquid with a sweet taste that is sometimes accidentally consumed by children and animals due to its sweetness. Following ingestion the symptoms of poisoning progress from signs similar to intoxication and vomiting; to hyperventilation, metabolic acidosis, and cardiovascular dysfunction; and finally acute kidney failure.
The movie Daniel Radcliffe was working on was Horns, a feature film based on the novel by Joe Hill. Horns centers around Ig Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) as the number one suspect the for the rape and murder of his girlfriend. Hungover from the night of drinking, Ig wakes up to find horns growing from his own head and soon realizes he has the power to make people confess their sins. Ultimately he uses his powers to find out who killed his girlfriend.
The movie sounds amazing but, critics have gave the movie horrible reviews.
“It seems to have been made by people who couldn’t decide if their film was a horror flick, a whodunit, or a Hellboy knockoff.”
“Although the film is relatively faithful to the plot of the book … missteps in casting, tone, structure and editing leave Horns a barely functional mess of a film.”
Rotten Tomatoes currently gives Horns a 43% rating score. Perhaps, Daniel Radcliffe was trying to figure out a way to get out of finishing the movie.
