The Real Housewives of New Jersey Star Started Her Prison Sentence Today

0

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice officially starts her Prison sentence.

She and herhusband pleaded guilty last year to hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting fake loan applications.

Teresa Giudice entered the facility which is about 90 miles north of New York City, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Giudice pleaded guilty last year to a federal incitment and is serving a 15th month sentence for bankruptcy fraud.

Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice, will start his 41 month sentence on similar charges when Teresa Giudice is released.

Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty to failing to pay taxes totaling more than $200,000.

Russell Crowe: Actresses Should “Quit Arguing, Just Play the Role!”

0

Hollywood movie actor, Russell Crowe, is pissed off with female actors in the entertainment industry.

Russell Crowe recently spoke with Woman’s Weekly about actresses and how they should act their age.

The best thing about the industry I’m in – movies – is that there are roles for people in all different stages of life,” Russell says, in an interview with The Weekly. “To be honest, I think you’ll find that the woman who is saying that (the roles have dried up) is the woman who at 40, 45, 48, still wants to play the ingénue, and can’t understand why she’s not being cast as the 21 year old.

“Meryl Streep will give you 10,000 examples and arguments as to why that’s bullshit, so will Helen Mirren, or whoever it happens to be. If you are willing to live in your own skin, you can work as an actor. If you are trying to pretend that you’re still the young buck when you’re my age, it just doesn’t work.”

Speaking animatedly now, Russell continues: “I have heard of an actress, part of her fee negotiation was getting the number of children she was supposed to have lessened. Can you believe this? This (character) was a woman with four children, and there were reasons why she had to have four children – mainly, she lived in a cold climate and there was nothing to do but fornicate all day – so quit arguing, just play the role! [via]

In an industry where actors defend people like Jared Leto for playing a transexual character or white actors cast as non-white characters just because it is considered acting beyond physical barriers it is difficult to understand why women should not be allowed to step outside of their actual ages.

From Jezebel:

It’s good to know that he is only bothered by the idea that women dare to expect the same treatment by studios as their “sexy” older male counterparts. How wonderful that Crowe is thrilled that Streep plays “her age.” I wonder if he is as irked that people like Richard Gere, Jack Nicholson, Kevin Costner, Sean Connery and Eastwood have basically laughed off the entire concept of playing their age, too? Thanks Crowe for reminding us, yet again, that women are always held in contempt for doing anything remotely similar to what their male counterparts do without reproach.

Kristen Stewart Tells Fan to “Get The F*CK Out of My Face” [Video]

0

Kristen Stewart was recently filmed telling a Twilight fan to  “get the f*ck out of my face.”

After landing at LAX Airport on Friday night, the Twilight star was greeted by photographers and one particular fan wouldn’t leave her alone. He walks with Stewart out the door and continues to follow her, while one woman asks, “Are you still in love with [ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson]?” and another person screems, “Fuck with me.” Eventually, she has enough of a guy holding a photo of her with Pattinson and tells him to F*ck off.

No wonder Stewart always looks so upset. I’d be too if I had to deal with those obsessed fans.

Netflix is Pulling the Plug on Cheaters

0

If destroying the movie theater industry is not enough, Netflix is rolling up their sleeves and preparing for global dominance.

According to The Verge, Netflix is starting to crack down on subscribers in other countries who use tools to gain access to Netflix in America, which offers a different catalogue of shows than other countries.

Many users rely on VPNs — virtual private networks — or custom DNS settings to stealthily access Netflix as though they were in other regions. But Netflix may have started closing some of those loopholes. Torrent Freak reports that, in the past few weeks, popular VPN services like TorGuard have started seeing a spike in errors when users try to access Netflix.

If you are worried about “borrowing” Netflix passwords from friends and family members you don’t need to worry…so far. But, it is important to note that it is illegal to share passwords for Netflix or any other streaming service in Tennessee.

WGN’s ‘Salem’ Season 2 is Now Hiring Crew Members in Louisiana

0

Producers are now hiring crew members for WGN’s ‘Salem’ Season 2.

Salem centers around the infamous Salem witch trials, which were not the last, in the 17th century in colonial Massachusetts, when the government was dominated by Puritan leaders. It questions whether the Puritans were right in their actions, whether the people punished were innocent, and centers on the “real witches” who were a part of day-to-day life, but were not who or what they seemed to be. John (Shane West) and Mary (Janet Montgomery) find themselves in the middle of an epic romance, even as Puritan witch hunts engulf the town in hysteria, horror, and despair.

Salem scored 50 out of 100 based on 16 critic reviews on Metacritic. More popular with fans than critics, Salem averaged 6.8 out of 10 on Metacritic and 7.2 out of 10 on the Internet Movie Data Base. On Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 54% with an average rating of 5.5 out of 10 based on 26 critic reviews

Production is to start in January for season 2 and producers are now accepting resumes to join the crew for the upcoming hit TV series. To apply for a crew position on Salem, check out the crew call details below:

‘Selma’ Faces Criticism for Being Having “Significant Errors”

0

A history professor is criticizing the Selma movie for being historically inaccurate.

According to Gary May, who published an essay on The Daily Beastthe movie features numerous historical inaccuracies in the film. Selma centers around Martin Luther King’s 1965 march from Salem to Montgomery, Alabama, has already been criticized by Lyndon B. Johnson about how the president is represented.

May writes in his essay that Ava DuVernay‘s “greatest failure” is “not fulfilling her stated purpose of highlighting Selma’s civil rights movement. Except for a few scenes, we see little of the bravery Selma’s citizens displayed.”

Other “significant errors” May argues is that Bloody Sunday, in which state and local police attacked protestors, was not immediately shown on TV, as the movie illustrates. “Americans had to wait several hours until film of the event reached New York for it to be broadcast,” he writes. May also argues that the movie downplayed the involvement of Selma’s teachers in the protests.

Ultimately, all of the criticism May presents seem really superficial when you really examine the movie and it looks as a marketing stunt for the history professor to promote his 2013 book, Bending Toward Justice: The Voting Rights Act and the Transformation of American Democracy.

Oprah Winfrey recently argued that leaders need to step up following the Ferguson and Eric Garner unrest. From TheWrap:

Oprah Winfrey is ready for African-American leadership to step up to the plate in the wake of recent social unrest following the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the choking death of Eric Garner in New York. The media mogul, who also produced and costarred in “Selma,” thinks the ongoing marches and protests are “wonderful,” but she’s searching for more.

“I think what can be gleaned from our film ‘Selma’ is to really take note of the strategic intention required when you want real change. Strategic, peaceful intention when you want real change,” she told People during an interview which also featured her co-star David Oyelowo.

Either way, the new Selma movie is facing more controversy than the historically inaccurate and now banned movie, Exodus: Gods and Kings.

The CIA Approves Every Script for One of the Biggest Shows on TV

0

FX ‘The Americans’ have to have every script approved by the CIA before anyone starts acting out a scene.

In case you missed it, the CIA is keeping a close eye on what happens on FX’s The Americans. It isn’t because of the cast and crew or anything like that, but because the creator Joe Weisberg is a former CIA officer and he knows things.

From :

Joe Weisberg worked for the CIA in the early ‘90s, just as the Cold War was ending. He came from a very liberal family, so joining the CIA was a bit of a rebellion. But after some time inside the organization, he started to doubt it. “It was all kind of BS,” he tells Kurt Andersen. “The intelligence they were providing wasn’t worth anything to the U.S. government. But what you did to collect that intelligence was ask people to really risk their lives — for a lot of nothing…

One advantage of making a spy show in the 1980s: no cell phones. “Philip can’t pick up a phone and call Elizabeth and say, get out of there!” Weisberg says. He’s also proud to show off what agents could do in the analog era, when they had to rely more on brains, guile, and sometimes their bodies. But the CIA keeps a close eye on Weisberg’s scripts to make sure that he doesn’t give away tradecraft he learned with the Agency.

Some of the “tradecraft” details are currently reviewed by the CIA becuase they are still in use today. As it is not uncommon for government agencies to provide assistance to TV shows and movies in order to aid in the naturalism and facts. The FBI even provides a guide on how to go about seeking their help and the CIA has their own department to check out scripts.
