There are 100 ‘Bill Nye The Science Guy’ episodes, which means 30% of the TV series is currently streaming on Netflix. But, Netflix will probably add more episodes of ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy’, if enough people watch it.
Many fans of the show including teachers, see ‘Billy Nye the Science Guy’ as an amazing educational series and congratulate Netflix for adding ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy’ to the streaming network.
“I am a middle-school science teacher and I still use the episodes, or small sections of them during class when I don’t have the time to set up a complicated demo,” a redditor wrote. “I fill in the updated information that is different from what he may have shown. According to reports, Tom Cruise is going to reprise his role from the 2012 action-thriller ‘Jack Reacher’. Paramount made over $200 million worldwide when ‘Jack Reacher’ hit theaters. The sequel will be based on Lee Child’s novel, ‘Never Go Back,’ in which Jack Reacher travels from South Dakota to Virginia to find his commanding officer has been arrested.

Dwayne Johnson: “I was willing to take the risk and then I became myself — it sounds funny to say that.”
Dwayne Johnson’s new movie ‘San Andreas’ hits theaters in the next few weeks and the former wrestler recently sat down with Variety to discuss his acting career – it is inspiring.
Dwayne Johnson’s last movie ‘Furious 7‘ was a box office hit. His new TV show for HBO ‘Ballers‘ hits TV screens on June 21st and his new movie ‘San Andreas‘ will be another huge movie to add to his IMDB profile. But, the point of all these movies and TV shows is to show the world how versatile Dwayne Johnson is.
The idea behind all of these projects, says Johnson’s WME talent agent Brad Slater, is to demonstrate different sides of Johnson through both scripted and unscripted TV and film projects, including his TNT reality program, “Wake Up Call.”
“As long as you can give your fans something great, they’re going to be there,” Slater says. “With that, we always talk about not being scared to take risks. A lot of the things he’s chosen to go into were just a little bit outside of the box from what he’d traditionally been (doing) in the earlier part of his career. If he keeps doing great work, all of these avenues are going to continue to be there for him.”
It ultimately comes down to taking risks. Johnson points out that when he first ventured into acting in Hollywood there wasn’t a blueprint for an actor like himself. Instead, he took risks on movies, TV shows, and other productions in order to land himself as one of the top earning actors in our generation.
“There wasn’t a blueprint of the half-black, half-Samoan former football player-wrestler, who then made his way to Hollywood,” says Johnson, who made a well-documented move from CAA to WME during the transition. “I was willing to take the risk and then I became myself — it sounds funny to say that.”

Netflix ‘The Get Down’ extras casting call in New York City.
According to reports, Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of the Baz Luhrman music drama “The Get Down”. Baz has been working on the show for at least 10 years and it will be the latest project from the “Moulin Rogue” and “Great Gatsby” director.
“The Get Down” centers around the emerging music scene in the 1970’s. The 70’s featured the birth of punk rock and hip hop. The show will be set in New York City which is also the home of an excssive crime rate and corruption. According to Variety, “The Get Down” will focus on a group of teens living in the South Bronx as music develops and explodes in the borough around them.
1970s New York City – broken down, beaten up, violent, cash strapped, dying. Told through the lives and music of a ragtag crew of South Bronx teens – from Bronx tenements, to the SoHo art scene, CBGBs, Studio 54, and even the glass towers of the just-built World Trade Center – The Get Down is a sweeping saga of loyalty, love and betrayal, and the transformation of New York City.
‘The Get Down’ show will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2016. Casting directors are looking for extras to work on the new TV series as it films in New York City this Spring and Summer. Facebook is planning on adding games to Facebook Messenger.
According to reports, Facebook is looking to add several games to the Messenger app. The social networking behemoth is having talks with game developers to integrate their mobile games with messenger.
Facebook officially announced support for third-party app integration into Messenger at its F8 developer platform in March. Since then, the company has partnered with a small number of third-party app developers, allowing users to add photos, animations and short video clips with these other third-party apps directly to their conversations.
But, Facebook is looking to add games to that list. However, it’s still unclear whether games will run directly within Messenger, or whether users will merely send invitations to play in a third party app.
Messenger could make Facebook a ton of money. Certain apps make millions of dollars off of in-game purchases. This could be the next frontier for the Facebook company.

Leaked casting call for ‘The Walking Dead‘ Season 6 is looking for a psychologist.
It looks as though ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 is going to add a psychologist. According to a casting call reported on Wetpaint, ‘The Walking Dead’ is looking for someone to fill the role of Allison, a psychologist.
Allison, as the casting call points out, is on her late 20s to early 40s. She is described as a “smart, artful, and charming psychologist who quickly turns awkward and messy when it comes to her personal life. She’d much rather stay safely inside her comfort zone, but the true test of her mettle comes when the comfort’s gone and the stakes are life and death. She’s not cynical and really cares about people.”
The actor chosen one for the role on ‘The Walking Dead’ will be a recurring guest who will appear in multiple episodes of the series. Allison will debut in episode 2 of “The Walking Dead” season 6 and will also put in an appearance in episode 5. But just what business will she have in Rick’s walker-overrun world?

In other Walking Dead casting news, TVLine also announced the the arrival of another new character call Delvin — another potential name cover — a “twentysomething African-American cynic [who] is left so dumbfounded by displays of stupidity that it’s nearly impossible for him to admit that he thinks, down deep, people are — or at least can be — decent. Fewer people are watching reality TV shows and streaming networks are removing all of their reality shows.
Nearly 20 years ago reality TV was everywhere in America. Many people said reality TV was going to ruin television as we know it. The reasons for this were pretty simple. Reality shows are very cheap to produce and very profitable. Why pay for a professional writer when you can get some one to improv their life story for a fraction of the price? Ultimately, this forced scripted TV show writers and executive producers to step up their game – which is a good thing.
According to reports, reality television is dying and it’s because of shows like ‘House of Cards,’ ‘Game of Thrones‘ and ‘Orange is the New Black‘. Why? Because, more cord cutters love to watch these type of shows more than reality TV shows.
“The kind of disposable nature of reality, basically doesn’t have much of a long shelf life,” Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix said at an investor conference this week. “It hasn’t been a great category for us.”
According to Bloomberg Business, Amazon.com Inc.’s subscription video service will end several Viacom Inc. shows, including “Teen Mom” and “Mob Wives” illustrating the decrease in demand for reality TV shows and reality stars.
Amazon Prime Instant Video will spend more on original programming and buy shows from other suppliers, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing the matter. Viacom’s more popular shows, such as “Dora the Explorer,” will stay on the $99-a-year service, they said.
This is bad news for the Viacom network and TV networks that depend upon reality shows. So it looks like cord cutters are much happier with scripted TV shows with actual actors, rather than reality TV shows.

Becoming an actor is tough. But, you should never feel guilty about working on your dream.
After years of dreaming, and months of planning, you’re minutes away from exploring new, better career opportunities as a professional actor. You have even mustered up the courage to tell all of your friends, family, and coworkers about your dream as an actor. And just at that moment, you should feel amazing but, you start to feel guilty.
It happens. You begin to question the decision. You feel sorry for risking your future on a dream. You wonder if you can compete with hundreds of other actors in your area.

Stop that. Yes, of course, feeling guilty is natural that many people think when starting something new, especially if it is risky. But, assuming you have planned your acting career out carefully, you should not feel guilty and here is why.
1. Actors are expected to take risks
Your friends and family members are not like you. You aspire to be in front of the big screen, showcasing your acting abilities and telling the world who you are. But, it is a significant risk, and the best actors have been acting for years. Don’t feel guilty but understand that you are starting a journey and not a race.
2. Actors are emotional people
The job of an actor is to display emotions ranging from anger to crying. The better an actor can express their feeling the more likely the actor can land a role in a movie or TV show. Therefore, use your current feelings of guilt and worry and apply it to your acting craft. Trust me; there are hundreds of other people feeling just like you but, you have to use that energy to land bigger and better opportunities.
3. Guilt will destroy your future career chances
Even when you’re incredibly excited about becoming an actor, actually starting your acting career can be emotionally tough. Emotions are human nature. Just don’t let guilt sneak in and steal your happiness away. You have lines to memorize.

Last weekend, The Walking Dead companion series filmed in Downtown Los Angeles and rumors are circling around the Internet about what the new ‘Walking Dead’ TV series is going to about.
In a recent interview with ‘Fear the Walking Dead’s showrunner, Dave Erickson, the producer revealed that the show is more of a “parallel story than a prequel”. So, if it isn’t a prequel, then what is it? Here’s what he had to say:
We are loosely covering the period of time that [The Walking Dead’s] Rick (Andrew Lincoln) was in his coma in season one. We’re able to watch and experience the things that he missed. It’s more of a parallel story than a prequel; imagine the opening where Rick gets shot and goes in his coma — that day was probably very close to our day one. We’re playing out the idea of what was going on in the country and the world until he woke up, stepped outside and it’s welcome to the apocalypse. That’s why a “companion piece” has been the phrase used at the network. It’s not a prequel in the sense of Better Call Saulwhere we’re jumping back six, seven years. It does tie very specifically into the pilot of the original. “Prequel” is not the right word; it’s kind of its own strange, hybrid thing. I wish I had a better word.
The interview goes on to highlight how the zombie apocalypse affected the people but not the politicians and individuals trying to control the disease.
Robert very poignantly said that he likes to avoid the CDC perspective, the FEMAperspective, at least moving forward.It’s something I agree with; we’ll never tell the story from the perspective of the bureaucrats, politicians and generals who are all trying to contain it. It will always be from the ground level looking up. There’s something far more overwhelming and beautiful about your next-door neighbor and people you know trying to understand the apocalypse. It’s really quite daunting.

Dwayne Johnson says Hobbs will be back for ‘Furious 8’
‘Furious 8‘ is ramping up production even if we like it or not. Ludacris and Vin Diesel have been teasing details about the next movie for the past few weeks, and rumors are circulating around the Internet that Eva Mendes may rejoin the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise. But, what about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?
According to a recent press conference, when Dwayne Johnson was asked about whether or not his character would make an appearance in ‘Furious 8’, he answered, “Of course. It can’t go on without Hobbs.”In addition, there are details suggesting that a Hobbs solo movie is currently in development. When asked for more details at the press conference, Johnson said the following:
We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input.
So ‘Furious 8’ is coming soon to theaters and a possible spin-off movie for Dwayne Johnson’s character. There are no details if Paul Walker’s character will be replaced by his younger brother. But, with today’s technology and the talent of Hollywood’s reboot writers, I will not be surprised.

The best part of being an extra is to see legendary actors work. Watching Academy Award winning actors do their 9 to 5 is inspiring and motivating. But, it begs the question, how can an extra move from “moving furniture” to a speaking role? Most recently, HBO’s new series ‘Vice Principals‘ just upgraded three background actors to speaking roles. A few weeks before that, Tyler Perry upgraded several actors to speaking roles for his TV series ‘The Haves and The Have Nots‘. But, again how can an extra land a speaking role?
In our first part to our six part series of ‘The Background Extra’ we asked Jamie Lynn Catrett, the casting director behind ‘The Hunger Games’ and Heather Taylor, the casting director of USA’s ‘Satisfaction’, how important are background extras to Georgia’s growing film industry and their responses are motivating, honest, and ultimately inspiring.
In part two of the ‘The Background Extra’ we asked Jamie Lynn Catrett and Heather Taylor, two top Atlanta casting directors, how can an extra land a speaking role or job on set of a TV show or movie.

2. What do you believe a background extra can do to either land a speaking role or a job on a film set in Atlanta?
Jamie Lynn Catrett: Oh man – this is such a loaded question! 🙂 Sometimes, it’s just being in the right place at the right time. On rare occasions someone can be pulled from background to say a one-liner. Doing background work is great because it allows you to see how a set is run from the inside, and it also allows you to be paid to watch and learn from some great working, actors. Most of the time though, it’s a matter of the actor studying and booking roles with principal casting directors.
Landing a gig as a crew member is a little different. I’ve seen background actors connect on set with various departments and change their careers. Some people start out as background actors because they want to be on-screen, but end up in the wardrobe or the props department a few years later because they realize they are better suited or more passionate about another area of the industry. The best policy is to get on set, watch everything that is going on and figure out what YOU are naturally drawn to and go from there.
Heather Taylor: –Thats an easier one than you think. Readiness, Meets Preparedness, Meets Opportunity. I have had the privilege of helping cast several principal roles, 2 roles actually just worked yesterday. If you are aware of your surroundings, are always on time & show up, you start to stand apart from all the others. If you also perfect your craft by taking acting classes, working on small student films or independent films, having a 1 minute monologue filmed, and a slate of yourself filmed on hand (meaning saved on dropbox or your cell phone) – you would be surprised how much those things will work to your advantage when that moment of opportunity comes knocking. But with that being said, being a background performer is vitally important to this process. I see so many people get jaded and tend to turn their nose up at being an “extra”. Some people feel that they are an “actor” and therefor they will not work as BG, but working as a BG one day on set is how you make it to the next level – it is all about exposure. *Here is a short Personal Story* I started out as an extra that knew nothing about anything in film (with only a background in theater). A few days after working on that set I became a stand in. How you may ask? Because the ADs saw me on set when I was booked as an “extra” and felt I looked similar to their actress – they also liked my willingness to learn and my ability to catch on very quickly. Truth is every day I was on set I payed attention to my surroundings and observed everyone’s jobs, including Stand Ins. So many times I see people come to set and don’t take it seriously, they goof off, talk loud, and expect they will be an actor in no time – when you are quiet and observant it goes a long way. From Stand In work I then was asked to do Photodouble work and Makeup tests for that and other actresses. I did well on camera and followed direction given. From their I got the opportunity to audition for a speaking role– and I got it! From there on out I was able to meet people on the production side. My 6 years of previous business background in NYC, and my life long dream to work in the film industry came fill circle back to my favorite expression, that was taught to me by other Casting Directors in Florida…. “my Readiness, met Preparedness, which met the perfect Opportunities. Netflix is Going to Live Stream Sports? Netflix executives argue that they are interested in airing live games.
It is common knowledge at this point that TV networks depend on live sports to survive the growing rise of streaming services like Hulu and Netflix. That’s why people pay millions of dollars to sports leagues for broadcast rights.
Now, a recent Business Insider article has raised questions about the future of live sports on network television. Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos’ said “never say never.” Speaking at a media research conference, Ted Sarandos revealed the future of live sports and Netflix and it looks pretty bright.
“I will never say never, but I would say that where we sit today I don’t think the on-demandness to sports is enough of an addition to the value proposition to change,” Sarandos said, according to a webcast of the event. “I think the leagues have tremendous leverage in those deals, so it’s not like we’re going to get in and de-leverage the leagues.” [Business Insider]
Netflix has branded itself to the consumer that loves to binge-watch TV shows and movie series. However, live sports puts Netflix in a new arena. In addition, by purchasing broadcast rights it is unsure if Netflix can actually make a profit off of live games.
There’s a reason why ESPN ignores hockey in favor of basketball in its coverage, it’s because ESPN does not have broadcast rights, so instead of paying NBC for their coverage to use in highlights, ESPN rarely ever discusses the number of goals scored last night.
It may be a few years before the Super Bowl is live streamed on Netflix. But, Netflix is seriously thinking about which should scare TV networks everywhere.

‘The Conjuring 2’ nationwide talent search for kid and teen actors.
‘The Conjuring 2’ is now casting a child lead role and 3 other supporting roles for kid and teen actors. ‘The Conjuring 2’ is having a nationwide talent search for kid and teen actors to play a new set of siblings haunted by evil spirits.
The sequel to ‘The Conjuring’ is currently in pre-production and producers have plans to film the sequel in both Los Angeles, California and in England.
‘The Conjuring 2’ is expected to start filming this summer and any kid or teen actors interested in a role in the movie do not need any previous acting experience or a talent agent to represent them.
‘The Conjuring 2’ will be directed by James Wan (Furious 7, Saw, Insidious). The first Conjuring movie was made on a small budget of only $20 million but, went on to make over $300 million in the box-office worldwide.
‘The Conjuring 2’ centers around a family living in London, England in the 1970s who are haunted by a group of evil spirits and ghosts. ‘The Conjuring 2’ will hit theaters on June 10th, 2016.
According to reports, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles in the upcoming Conjuring sequel. In the original movie, Wilson and Farmiga played a couple of paranormal investigators whose reports inspired the Amityville Horror. They then come to the assistance of a Rhode Island family who report seeing and experiencing paranormal activity in their home.
