Fans Say ‘Bachelorette’ Slut-Shamed their Own Bachelorette Contestant

0

Producers of the ‘Bachelorette’ are accused of “slut-shaming” one of the ‘Bachelorette’ contestants, Kaitlyn Bristowe.

‘The Bachelorette’ recently announced their new ‘Bachelorette’ following the show’s two-part premiere on Tuesday, but more shocking than Bristowe’s win against Britt Nilsson was what viewers called ‘Bachelorette’s 4-minute long “slut shaming” trailer for the upcoming season.

The dramatic season premiere shows Kaitlyn Bristowe crying after she slept with one of the guys. “I don’t understand; it just happened,” she says in the clip. “I don’t think I’m a bad person, I’m not ashamed of myself, but I do have other relationships, and one of those relationships went too far, too fast. … I made a huge mistake.”

One of the show’s 25 contestants tells Bristowe, “I don’t question his intentions; I question your intentions. I feel like you’re here to make out with a bunch of dudes on TV.”

Viewers went on Twitter to call out ABC’s portrayal of Kaitlyn Bristowe, accusing the producers of “slut-shaming”.

Here are some of the reactions:

’19 Kids & Counting’ Reality Star Allegedly Sexually Abused a Child

’19 Kids & Counting’ Reality Star Josh Duggar Allegedly Sexually Abused a Child

The Duggar family may not be as “wholesome” as they portray themselves to be on television. According to reports, Josh Duggar, the eldest of the ’19 Kids & Counting’ is an alleged sexual offender. Josh Duggar war reportedly brought to the police after his father saw him leaving an underage girl’s bedroom and learned “something inappropriate” had happened. But, the case was never closed, according to In Touch Magazine, due to a series of “bizzare” events.

The state trooper who originally took the report about Josh shortly before 2005 never followed up. That state trooper was later convicted on child pornography charges and is serving a 56-year prison sentence.

When the state trooper ran into trouble, someone from the Arkansas State Police alerted the Child Abuse Hotline about the Duggar situation that had been sitting inactive. That’s when the Crimes Against Children Division and Springdale Police Department got involved. By then the three-year statute of limitations had passed and it would not have been possible to pursue prosecution of Josh if the allegations warranted, so the investigation was discontinued.

Sgt. Darrel Hignite, who is believed to have led the investigation into Duggar’s alleged sexual abuse case, would not comment on the case. Neither Duggar nor his family have commented on the allegations.

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ Casting Call in Toronto, Canada.

12 years after the original was released, it has become one of the biggest independent films in movie history.

Now, My Big Fat Greek Wedding is being made into a feature film sequel. Nia Vardalos, who wrote the first production, has written the sequel and it will star John Corbett, her groom in the original romantic comedy. Also, expect the Portokalos family to return as well.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding centered around a young Greek-American woman’s trials and tribulations when she falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept her fiance while she herself comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.

Did Disney World Just Ban People from Taking Selfies?

0

Disney World Bans Selfies? Disney makes selfie sticks agains the rules on Disney rides.

Did Disney just ban selfies? Well, kind of. A month after music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza banned selfie sticks, Disney World has followed in their footsteps.

The theme part has posted a “No Selfie Sticks” sign at Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Disney spokesperson has revealed that guests are welcome to bring a selfie sticks with them to the park, but they must remain stored during the ride.

Apparently, people thought it would be cool to shoot a selfie while traveling 30+ miles an hour down a water ride.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

The policy was enforced after the ride had to be stopped on multiple occasions due to guests hazardously pulling out the 3-foot long stick while the ride was operating.

Signs prohibiting selfie stick use have also recently cropped up at Disneyland in California at popular attractions such as Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.

But think about the children! How can little Susie tell her Instagram followers that she was riding on the Teacups without her selfie stick? I guess it’s better than losing a finger on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Los Angeles Extras Now Earn Twice As Much as an Atlanta Background Extras

0

Non-union Los Angeles background actors now make nearly twice as much as a Atlanta background extra.

Los Angeles has just passed a landmark bill that will increase minimum wage to $15/hour. The wage increase was approved 14-1 by the Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday.

Los Angeles is now the largest city to add the $15 dollar-an-hour minimum, a $6 increase on the previous minimum wage.

State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon spoke with THR about the new minimum wage level.

“It’s a great day for workers in the City of Los Angeles who toiled for wages well below their worth, and for the L.A .City Council which recognized that the workers struggling with poverty deserved a pay raise and better protection. It’s a great victory for working families who love the city of L.A., who want to work in the city of L.A., but who need more money to survive with their children.”

Los Angeles Hollywood Minimum Wage
Konstantin Sutyagin / Shutterstock.com

But, it begs the question, will more producers leave Los Angeles and move to Georgia where background extras are cheaper? This is what Kevin de Leon had to say about “runaway productions”.

“People who work in production in Los Angles are not at minimum wage, but slightly higher. But as I negotiated the Hollywood tax credit last year, our goal was always to make sure that these jobs didn’t flee to other states.”

“That mind set flies in opposition to all the hard work we did in negotiating the most comprehensive film tax credit in the history of the state of California,” he counters. “If because of the minimum wage they decide to move to another state … don’t come back.”

Union background extras in Los Angeles currently earn $152/day which is about $19/hour due to a collective bargaining agreement. However, non-union extras will be able to make at least $15/hour that is about $120/8. While a non-union background extra working on a minimum wage paying set in Atlanta earns $58/8.

Fans to Boycott ‘Game of Thrones’ After Brutal Rape Scene

0

Last Sunday’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ rape scene has stirred up a ton of controversy and has put HBO on the defensive.

According to reports, critics are calling out the “Game of Thrones” for the brutal rape scene in Sunday’s episode.

One critic is Sen. Claire McCaskill (D.-Mo.), who tweeted on Tuesday that she was “done” with the show because of the “gratuitous rape scene” that was “disgusting and unacceptable.”

The Game of Thrones episode“Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” was written by Bryan Cogman and directed Jeremy Podeswa. ‘Game of Thrones’ is based on the fantasy book series, “Song of Ice and Fire,” by George R.R. Martin. But the scene is nowhere in the book and according to Martin HBO’s treatment of the scene deviated from what happens in the book.

In the TV version, one of the central characters, Sansa Stark played by Sophie Turner, was raped on her wedding night by her new husband, played by Iwan Rheon. In the book, her new husband actually rapes another character and not Sansa Stark. However, a rape still occurs.

This is not the first time HBO pushed the envelop. Last season, Jaime raped his sister, Cersei Lannister, on top of her dead son.

HBO responded to the criticism by saying the following:

“the choices our creative teams make are based on the motivations and sensibilities that they believe define their characters. We fully support the vision and artistry of Dan and David’s exceptional work and we feel this work speaks for itself.”

On the bright side for HBO last Sunday’s episode was the most pirated episode ever with other 3.4 million downloads in a matter of a few minutes – which means people love the show and the show is not going anywhere.

Paul Walker Death Hoax? 3 Reasons Why Fans Think He is Still Alive

0

Many people believe that Paul Walker is still alive and his death is a conspiracy.

There are people who truly believe that his death was a hoax.

On November 30, 2013, Fast & Furious star Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died when his Porsche Carrera GT they were driving crashed into a tree. However, there is an entire Facebook group dedicated to the notion that Paul Walker’s death was staged and fake.

Despite the fact that it seems extremely unlikely that Paul Walker’s death was a hoax, here is the “evidence” presented by the group who call themselves “Paul Walker Still Alive?”

Paul Walker’s autopsy results were placed on “Security Hold”

According to the US Weekly on December 3, 2013, Lieutenant Fred Corral said: “The case has been placed on security hold. No information is to be released on either decedent at this time.” There’s no other information about what this random statement actually means. But, the group argues that it’s because Paul Walker never died.

Paul Walker’s car had two different license plates

This is probably the most compelling piece of evidence. According to the group, the number plate found in the wreckage of Paul Walker’s car crash was different to the one on the car pictured with Paul. However, the group does not provide a source to the pictures so we cannot be certain.

Paul Walker’s car before the accident is orange but after the accident the car is red

According to the Paul Walker Still Alive group, the car on the left with Paul Walker is orange, and the wreckage shows a red paint job. However, I think this is probably due to filter effects and poor camera quality.

There are many people that still claim that Paul Walker’s death was a hoax. But, maybe we are all wrong and Paul Walker is hanging out with Elvis, and Tupac in the Bahamas.
