Since the debut of Netflix’s documentary series Making a Murderer, thousands have contributed signatures to online petitions calling for the pardon of Steven Avery. In fact, well over 150,000 people have signed a Change.org petition asking to set Avery free, while 18,000 have signed a government petition asking the Obama Administration to grant full presidential pardon to both Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey.
According to Time, if the White House petition collects 100,000 signatures by January 16, the administration has to publicly respond. The petition says, “Based on the evidence in the Netflix documentary series “Making a Murderer”, the justice system embarrassingly failed both men, completely ruining their entire lives. There is clear evidence that the Manitowoc County sheriff’s department used improper methods to convict both Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey. This is a black mark on the justice system as a whole, and should be recognized as such, while also giving these men the ability to live as normal a life as possible.”

In late 2015, Netflix released teh series, which follows the life of Steven Avery of Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, who was exonerated in 2003 by DNA evidence after serving 18 years in prison for rape. However, two years later, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Teresa Halbach. Steven Avery argues that he is innocent. Meanwhile, Avery’s nephew, Brendan Dassey, was also convicted for being a party to first-degree intentional homicide, second-degree sexual assault and mutilating a corpse.
The prosecutor in the murder trial, Ken Kratz, recently told Vocativ that the show made him look like a villain and an even man. He describes Making a Murderer as “not a documentary at all, but rather a defense-generated advocacy piece.” Kratz, also told People magazine evidence that was not shared in the documentary including allegations that Avery “targeted” Teresa Halbach and rumors of Avery building a “torture chamber” to rape and kill women.
However, since the show’s release people have organized and rallied for Steven Avery’s defense. In fact, Kratz’s private law firm has been targeted by viewers on Yelp. “The people who have vilified me have not taken the time to find out the evidence they weren’t spoon fed,” he said.

Will Smith was hurt when he found out his character died on Independence Day 2.
Independence Day: Resurgence is ramping up their promoting efforts especially after the first trailer hit the Internet. Folks noticed which characters are coming back, what new actors are joining the franchise, and the fact that Will Smith will not be returning.
The loss of Will Smith’s character hit audiences pretty hard. Will Smith chose not to return as Col. Steven Hiller, and the sequel’s trailer doesn’t explain why. This seemed like a huge mistake until we soon learned of Hiller’s fate, which was almost as upset than not knowing. Apparently, Hiller died in a fiery plan crash while testing an alien plane.
Smith addressed his character’s absence in an interview with Yahoo! Movies while promoting Concussion. Will Smith seemed upset by Steven Hiller’s tragic death.
“I was working on Suicide Squad during that time. Roland [Emmerich] and I had talked about it. The trailer looks really cool. I’m going to be sitting around with tears in my eyes when that one comes out … It was terrible when I found out my character died.”

It’s pretty straight forward as to why Hiller had to die. That is the only way the studio could explain why he couldn’t appear in the next movie. Still, there’s not too much closure in realizing how Will Smith will never appear in the Independence Day: Resurgence movie.
Also strange? Hiller’s character never rose above the Colonel ranking, but we’ve heard no explanation there.

This new XXX sequel is looking like it will be better than expected. While still in pre-production stages, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage has begun casting the lead roles in the movie.
Outside of Samuel L. Jackson and Vin Diesel, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage has just picked up another major action star.

It has just been announced that actor and martial arts star Jet Li will be joining the cast of XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. This seems like an amazing choice for the XXX franchise as there was a lot of focus major action scenes and extreme stunts in the previous two movies.
In addition, martial artist Tony Jaa will be joining the cast as well, according to reports. Tony Jaa was last seen in the hight Fast & The Furious movie, Furious 7. Apparently, Vin Diesel enjoyed working alongside Jaa and has since offered him a major role in Return of Xander Cage.
The final cast member announced is Indian movie star Deepika Padukone. While Padukone is new to American audiences, she is one of the most popular stars in the Indian film industry and she will be making her Hollywood debut in the new XXX.
The original XXX was released in 2002 and was a box off hit. The movie featured Vin Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme athlete with a bad attitude who is recruited by the NSA and becomes a spy. While this might seem crazy, the movie drew big numbers 14 years ago.

A sequel was later made, although Vin Diesel’s film schedule made him unable to star in the sequel, making it seem like a completely different movie altogether with Ice Cube as the new lead character. It ended up being a box office bomb and was hated by critics. So, the news of a new XXX movie is a surprise.
The new Return of Xander Cage movie seems pretty straight forward after how big a failure the first sequel was. However, with Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson returning to their 2002 roles, there is some hope. Vin Diesel has been doing rather well as a producer, and has announced his plans for expanding the Riddick franchise. With Riddick having an upcoming TV show and movie coming soon.
We are in a new generation of filmmaking where spinoffs, sequels, and reboots reign surpreme. After the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Netflix reviving previously finished series like Full House and Gilmore Girls, it looks like Vin Diesel is trying to cash in on this trend.

Netflix’s new series ‘Making a Murderer‘ is causing the Internet and the world to go wild. But, what really happened to Steven Avery and Teresa Halbach?
Making a Murder is a TV series that first aired on Netflix in mid-December 2015. The first season recounts the story of Steven Avery, a man who was first imprisoned for sexual assault and attempted murder, and was later exonerated, only to be accused again for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
The series was filmed over the course of ten years, with the creators moving back and forth from Wisconsin to New York during filming.

The first episode was first released on YouTube and gained millions of views within a matter of days. That is something that Netflix had not previously done for any other original programming in history. It would be the second documentary produced by Netflix following Chef’s Table, which was released in early 2015.
Since Making a Murdererhas been released it has gained a ton of positive reviews. Many people are comparing it to the HBO series The Jinx and the hit podcast Serial. However, the documentary series has generated a ton of controversy in Maintowoc County, Wisconsin where the documentary is set.
What is Making a Murderer About?
Making a Murderer surrounds the life of Steven Avery, a poor Wisconsin man who served 18 years in prison after being convicted of rape and other charges associated with a fight with his cousin. However, DNA analysis later linked the sexual assault to another man guilty of several other crimes in Maintowoc County. Following the DNA analysis, Avery was then released. Following his release Avery filed a $36 million dollar lawsuit, $2 million dollars for every year he was locked in prison. But, only a few weeks into the lawsuit, Avery was accused of the murder of Teresa Halbach, a photographer who was last seen on the Avery family property to photograph a minivan.
Through the course of 10 episodes, and nearly 10 hours of documentarian footage, Making a Murderer illustrates the actions that the Manitowoc County sherriff’s department did that put Avery in jail and ultimately locked in prison for murder. Brendan Dassey, Avery’s nephew, who was allegedly tricked into a confession, was also accused in the murder investigation. Dassey’s murder investigation is also depicted in the documentary.

Who created Making of a Murderer?
The series was filmed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, who met while in film school in 2005. The two aspiring filmmakers learned about the Avery case after reading an article in the New York Times. It was at this point that the two Columbia University graduate students were interested in making a documentary. However, before meeting with Netflix and landing a major deal with the streaming network, the two met with executives at PBS and HBO, but neither network was interested in picking up the project. In fact, Netflix enjoyed the documentary so much they expanded the original order of episodes from 8 to 10.
What do people think of Steven Avery and Making of a Murderer?
The series was extremely popular with critics who praised how well the documentary went into detail with the Steven Avery case. On Rotten Tomatoes, the review aggregator website, currently lists the documentary with a 96% approval rating with the consensus saying: “Making a Murderer is a spellbinding slow burn that effectively utilizes the documentary format to tell a twisty mystery.”
But, not everyone enjoyed watching the program. In fact, in an interview with the Manitowoc Herald Times Sheriff Robert Hermann criticized the series for being biased and “Skewed.” Hermann later said that he had not watched the series. Ken Kratz, the former Calumet County district attorney who prosecuted Avery, stated that he had not been able to give his side of the story. The creators would later deny this claim arguing they gave prosecutors an opportunity to answer questions, and that they provided information relating to the state’s key evidence. Kratz would later argue that Demos and Ricciardi, in 2013, denied him the chance to get interviewed for the production. In addition, Kratz has issued statements aruing what the Netflix documentary left out key pieces of evidence against Steven Avery.

However, the former reality star and basketball player is still recovering from the incident. Since then the Kardashians have become the unofficial spokespersons for Lamar Odom with Khloe Kardashian saying, “He’s definitely doing better, which is awesome. Every day is better, he’s off of all machines … he is alive on his own, and no machines are helping him, which is great.”
However, Khloe pointed out that he still “has a lot of physical and cognitive therapy to go through, so it’s a long road for him.”

Every original Netflix show and movie coming in 2016
Netflix is going to have a big 2016. We fully expect the list of new content, especially content created by third parties, to continue to shrink each month. Content owners are getting stinger and stinger as they hope to create their own streaming distribution channels.
But, Netflix is prepared. They are creating their own original shows. As the list of shows continues to grow, 2016 will be a huge year for original content. With plans to double the number of original titles released in one year, Netflix is on pace to give network television show orders a run for their money.
How are they going to do it? By keeping Netflix subscribers happy enough to remain subscribers as well as create enough “must watch” television to encourage new subscribers, and not just in the US, but around the world.
Here is the full list of original titles for 2016. We also would not be surprised to see at least another dozen or so titles in the second half of 2016 as Netflix ramps up production.
Mark Salling is in hot water as the evidence shows he had photos and images of child pornography on his computer.
The Los Angeles Police Department offered some horrifying details today about the arrest of the former Glee actor Mark Salling on child pornography charges. According to reports, special agents from the Department of Homeland Security worked the investigation along with the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children’s unit and obtained “images and video of child pornography were recovered on Salling’s electronic media devices.”
“Our sources say some of the images involve girls under 10 engaging in sexual activities.”
According to TMZ, Mark Salling had girls under the age of 10 in sexual acts.

As we reported, the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force seized more than a thousand images from the “Glee” star’s desktop computer, and they still have to go through his cellphone, tablet and laptop.
Our sources say some of the images involve girls under 10 engaging in sexual activities.
We’re told the cops were “100%” they would find what they were looking for based on an interview with a former girlfriend of Salling’s as well as other evidence.
The actor’s bail was set to $20,000.
