Lifetime’s Devious Maids is now casting extras for a bar scene in Atlanta.

Lifetime’s Devious Maids is looking for bar and restaurant patrons as well as waitstaff to work on an episode filming on Wednesday, April 6th in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Casting directors are booking for two different restaurant scenes. Producers are looking for men and women of all ages and ethnicities. Filming will take place in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

About Devious Maids:

Devious Maids centers on four Latina maids working in the homes of Beverly Hills’ wealthiest and most powerful families, and a newcomer who made it personal after a maid was murdered and determined to uncover the truth behind her demise, and in the process become an ally in their lives. NBC TV Pilot Cruel Intentions is now casting extras in Los Angeles, California.

Central Casting is now casting men and women in the Los Angeles area to play very upscale, wealthy types for a scene filming on Friday, April 1st. Talents that are selected must attend a fitting on Tuesday, March 29th in West LA.

‘Revenant’ Actor Shot in the Throat on TV Set

Brendan Fletcher was shot in the throat on set of Cardinal.

Working on set can be extremely dangerous…Just ask the parents of Sarah Jones who was tragically killed on set of Midnight Rider or actor Dylan O’Brien who was ran over on set of Maze Runner just last week.

But, another actor has joined the growing list of Hollywood celebrities who have been injured on set of a movie or TV show. Canadian actor Brendan Fletcher was hospitalized after suffering throat lacerations on set of the CTV drama Cardinal, which is now shooting in Sudbury, Ontario. From THR:

Actor Brendan Fletcher was hospitalized after sustaining an injury during a scene involving a firearm on the set of the Canadian drama Cardinal.

“Production was interrupted for one day and has since resumed,” the broadcaster said.

…the actor took a discharge to his throat from a firearm not fully emptied of blanks, and suffered a serious flesh wound.

Fletcher most recently starred in the Academy Award winning movie, The Revenant alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Fletcher plays Eric Fraser in the six-part drama, which also stars Billy Campbell (The Killing) and Karine Vanasse (Revenge, Pan Am). Cardinal is based on John Cardinal Mysteries, a crime novel series written by author Giles Blunt. The series starts with a missing 13-year-old whose body is found in an abandoned mine. The show focuses on John Cardinal as he tries to find out what happened to the little girl, while coming under investigation by his own partner.

According to reports, The Ontario Ministry of Labor is investigating Cardinal.

Gov. Nathan Deal Saves Georgia’s Film Industry

Gov. Nathan Deal vetoes controversial “anti-gay” bill.

Gov. Nathan Deal had a lot a pressure over the weekend as Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros. and Netflix all threatened to boycott Georgia’s film industry. But, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Gov. Nathan Deal on Monday vetoed the controversial Religious Freedom bill, saying it “contains language that causes me concern.”

“I do not think we have to discriminate against anyone to protect the faith-based community in Georgia of which I and my family have been part of all of our lives,” Deal said. “…Georgia is a welcoming state. It is full of loving, kind and generous people. And that is what we should want.”

The bill, which is called the Free Exercise Protection Act, says no faith-based organization “Shall be required to provide social, educational or charitable services that violate such faith-based organizations sincerely held religious belief.” In addition, organizations cannot be forced to “hire or retain as an employee any person whose religious beliefs or practices or lack of either are not in accord with the faith-based organizations sincerely held religious belief.”

Georgia currently has the third-largest film industry in America. 800 movies and TV shows, 30,000-plus workers, and an economic impact of close to $5.1 billion in 2014. This will have a major impact on the Governor’s decision.

Hugh Jackman Saved Two Kids From Drowning [Video]

Hugh Jackman saved two kids from drowning like a real life superhero.

Hugh Jackman might just be about done playing Wolverine, but he’s not done being a superhero in real life situations. The X-Men star was swimming in New South Wales, Australia, when a ferocious rip-tide picked up in the ocean and threatened to pull some unaware swimmers out to sea.

Jackman, who was there with his son, jumped in the water to save the day just like a real superhero.

The actor helped a young girl’s father save her from being pulled under, before going back to save his own son Oscar as well.

Video footage from an Australian news network shows the actor in action.

It looks like all those hours in the gym paid off, even if he’s not doing any more movies as Wolverine. Most telling in the video is that Jackman starts helping before the Lifeguards noticed what was happening.

Pilot Season 2016: 5 Things Every Actor Needs to Know

Pilot season is here and casting directors are revealing the dirty secrets behind this year’s biggest auditions.

Hollywood is changing. Apparently, casting directors are holding fewer auditions, casting actors based on their Twitter profiles, and using robots to find talent on Instagram. The latest report by The Hollywood Reporter, clearly shows things are changing in the entertainment industry.

THR spoke to several of Hollywood’s biggest casting directors including Grace Wu, Tess Shanchez, Sharon Kelin, and Dawn Steinberg — about casting the 87 pilots that are in development and the challenges and changes they have seen this pilot season.

Here are some of the crazy things that are happening this pilot season.

Casting directors are holding fewer auditions

According to Klein, one major change is that she is seeing less actors having to audition. “Rather than the normal casting and testing process, a lot of actors are getting test offers converted to straight offers. So we’re skipping the audition process altogether.”

Actors are using their social media and popularity to book roles. Not acting talent.

Sanchez noticed that popular actors are using their clout to land major acting roles and choosing where TV shows would be filmed. “Actors asking for [shorter deals] and specific locations. They’ll call and say, ‘I won’t work in Vancouver,’ so we’ll shoot the pilot there but the series in L.A. People also ask for shorter episode orders and fewer years than a standard seven-year contract. We’ve been trying to hold strong.”

Diversity is at an all time high in the audition room

Steinberg has noticed that casting has been more diverse than ever. She says, “There used to be a time when it had to be written that way to look for an actor with a specific ethnicity. Now it’s just who is the best actor for the role.”

There are not enough popular actors to go around.

Some things never change for casting directors. There are only so many popular actors in Hollywood to go around every year. Steinberg argues, “Everybody vying for the same actors at the same time.” The casting directors name Idris Elba, Alison Brie, Rose Byrne, Craig Robinson, Andre Holland, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. as in-demand actors this season.”

Casting directors are struggling to cast the leading male actors

When it comes to the most difficult roles to cast, Klein and Steinberg assert that it’s a leading male actor. Klein says “A comedic, diverse leading man,” while Steinberg says, “That 30- to 35- year-old leading man. For a lot of those guys, we started to go to London and England. And a lot of actors don’t want to do 22 [episodes] anymore; they want to do cable shows. That’s a problem. We need good actors; it’s not going to be the models who didn’t train.”

Wu, says she has the most difficulty casting 30-something comedic actors. “The funny, leading lady or leading man in his 30s. All those people are working; and if they’re not in TV, they’re in features.”

What’s a good career that could help you become actor?

Want to become an actor but, you can’t afford acting classes? Well, one great way to prepare for your next big movie role is to find careers that can help you become a better actor. So, what’s a good career that could help you be a better actor later in life?

Essentially, anything with a lot scheduling flexibility, or the earning potential to build a large savings that you can live on later on in life is a good idea. For example, becoming an actor is expensive, there are acting classes, auditions, head shots and workshops, which are all expensive and demand a lot of time. If you do not have a job that allows you to take time off at a moments notice, then your acting career will be negatively affected.

Sales jobs are great for aspiring actors.

In order to become a successful salesperson it requires good conversation, charisma, energy and improv skills. These are the same skills producers look for in actors. Hollywood’s top producers are constantly seeking talent that can sell movies to reporters, fans, and movie critics. By having experience doing sales, actors are getting paid acting classes.

Did you know Johnny Depp was a telemarketer before he became famous? He sold pens and recalls: “I was selling pens..You’re calling people who don’t want you to call them. You put on your best fake voice and try and sell them a gross or two of ballpoint pens with their name printed on them. First you say, ‘Congratulations. you have just become eligible to win a grandfather clock’ – or a trip to Greece or a Jacuzzi or whatever.’ ”

Other than sales, actors can try working inside the film and entertainment industry. For example, HBO’s Vinyl star, Olivia Wilde, started out as an assistant at a casting agency. Should would see hundreds of auditions and listened to what casting directors would say after every audition. She learned how to do it from the inside and went from there.

Basically, if you want to act, you are going to have to commit to acting at some stage and the earlier the better.

How to Get A Casting Director Interested in You

Why working actors create their own content to break into Hollywood.

Director Gary Ross, who directed the first “Hunger Games” film, was present for Jennifer Lawrence’s audition, and was shocked to see Lawrence’s acting performance.

“I got choked up,” Ross told Variety. “You only see that kind of talent once in a generation — that kind of intensity and emotional power. If you don’t find the right performer, you don’t have the movie. So I felt like, ‘Now I can make the movie.'”

But, nowadays, it’s a lot harder to break into the film industry with the invention of YouTube, Vine, Instagram, and Facebook – Producers are looking for more than a pretty face and acting chops, Hollywood is seeking marketability.

In order to become marketable, one piece of common advice is for actors to “create their own content.” It is believed that by producing your own content, it allows for casting directors, producers and talent agents to see your acting abilities, comedic timing and marketing factors. For example, if you develop a web-series and the series has several thousand subscribers on YouTube, talent agencies and producers see this as a marketing factor, which has become extremely popular in Hollywood nowadays.

But, how can you create your own content in order to succeed in Hollywood? Well one former Hollywood talent agent recently opened up on Reddit about headshots and what you should do if you want to land more roles.

Here’s what he had to say:

If you are going into comedy, I want to see a great comedy sketch that is going to make me laugh. If you are going a different way, a web series that gets a lot of views is marketable to me. Where I used to work, if we got a comedian that came in and hit all his comedic beats, did a scene in different way and made us laugh, they were in. We have taken people just by youtube videos they submitted because they were just so good. If we laughed, chances are casting directors will too.

The same piece of acting advice works for dramatic actors.

On the other hand, dramatic actors can’t always do sitcom work well so it took a little bit more to empress through a dramatic youtube video. I would suggest creating something that is a little bit of both. Every agency is different so that’s the best advice I can give.

But, there’s more than just putting yourself in front of the camera and raking in a million views per upload.. Actors should be able to write. For example, this talent agent suggests for actors to write an episode for a TV show.

I don’t think that view count is a major factor although it can’t hurt. An actor’s ability to write is a huge bonus as with my old agency we also had a literary department. Along with pitching an actor for a show, we could also pitch their episode. Even if the actor didn’t get the role, they got on the network radar.

Did Kris Jenner leak Kim Kardashian‘s sex tape?

Kim Kardashian may have earned a $1 million a minute after releasing an emoji app but, before she was a reality star, entrepreneur and Kanye’s wife, Kardashian was a F-list celebrity in Hollywood…Until, her Kris Jenner “deliberately leaked” Kim Kardashian’s sex tape.

According to Page Six, Kris Jenner “deliberately leaked” Kim’s sex tape. From Page Six:

He quotes a source in the “adult film industry” who said, “A mutual friend of Kim andParis [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go . . . Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand.”

“Kardashian Dynasty” author, Ian Halperin claims that Kim signed a contract with Vivid Entertainment in 2007 to leak the sex tape she made with Ray J in 2003. In addition, Halperin claims that a former friend of Kim had told him, He quotes a source in the “adult film industry” who said, “A mutual friend of Kim andParis [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go . . . Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand.”

So how did Kim Kardashian’s sex tape hit the Internet. Well, according to Page Six’s sources:

“I can tell you right now. Kim Kardashian’s movie came out in ’07, and she’s made millions.”

“A third party brought it to Vivid . . . [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family.” She said they usually explain that it is likely a tape would leak anyway, and the celebrity wouldn’t get paid, “So why not work for us, and we’ll make sure that it will not only get out, but that it will be distributed the way you want.” The rep supposedly continued, “You’ll get a nice payment for it,” adding, “I can tell you right now. Kim Kardashian’s movie came out in ’07, and she’s made millions.” Kim threatened to sue Vivid and was paid a reported $5 million settlement, but the tape was still released.

Halperin argues, “It is clear that Vivid would not have announced plans to distribute Kim’s tape without a clear indication from the family that they would give the go-ahead once they had come to terms on a price.”

About Shots Fired:

Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan (The Perfect Guy) as an expert investigator who digs into the cases, alongside a special prosecutor (Stephan James of Race, Selma) sent to the town by the Department of Justice. The pair must navigate the media attention, public debate and the social unrest that comes with such volatile cases, as they seek justice before the divided town erupts. NBC’s new Chicago Justice TV pilot is now casting extras for a MAJOR scene.

NBC Chicago Justice TV pilot is looking for extras to play family members and community members at a press conference for a boy who was shot. This is a 2-day booking for anyone booked with their cars. Other folks may also be asked back on April 4th.
