When Daniel Radcliffe was only five years old, he made one of the biggest decisions of his entire life. Radcliffe signed on to play Harry Potter in the new film franchise.
When the production started in 2000 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Radcliffe earned “$145,000. By the second movie, he had already increased to $3 million for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This was then doubled to around $6 million in exchange for starring in the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire raised him to $11 million. By the fifth film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix , Radcliffe’s contract went up to a hefty $14 million. The final novel of the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (2007), was divided into a two-part movie adaptation released in 2010 and 2011, coming out to around $20 million each for Radcliffe.
Currently, Daniel Radcliffe is worth around $110 million dollars. However, since the major motion picture, Radcliffe has stepped out of the limelight and has worked on smaller productions.
At the end of the day it goes to show you that one decision can have a major impact on the rest of your life and while there are thousands of struggling actors, a single acting job can take you from sleeping on the roof of your friend’s apartment to living in the most expensive homes in California.

2016 was a huge year for television. The Walking Deadshocked and awed audiences with an insane season finale, Daredevil returned to Netflix with a bang, and then Game of Thrones rewrote history with new and interesting storylines. On top of all of that The CW renewed nearly all of their shoes, while CBS canceled nearly all of theirs.

The weather in Atlanta has consistently been around 90 degrees all summer and Atlanta is about to get even hotter as, Channing Tatum is headed to the ATL to film his new movie.
According to reports, Channing Tatum is teaming up with James Bond’s Daniel Craig and legendary director Steven Soderbergh for Logan Lucky.

According to Variety, Soderbergh, who has just finished working on TV shows like The Knick and The Girlfriend Experience, fell in love with the movie’s script and personally chose to work with Tatum after casting him in the hit thriller Side Effects, the stripper comedy Magic Mike and Haywire.
Soderbergh, who won the best director Oscar for “Traffic” in 2000, will most likely return to TV after working on this feature film in Atlanta, Georgia as he prepares to move forward with a third season of The Knick as well as his HBO TV pilot Mosaic starring Sharon Stone.

Michael Shannon pushes for actors not to work for free on independent movies
Michael Shannon is sick and tired of seeing actors who make indie feature films not getting paid enough to survive. The Midnight Special actor talked about the issue at a recent screening for a new movie called Complete Unknown, starring Rachel Weisz, Kathy Bates and Danny Glover, which is, indeed, an indie, and pointed out that a lot of the time, actors who appear in such small feature films are pressured to work for free.

“It tends to be the model these days,” Shannon answered when asked if too many great actors willing to work for almost nothing if offered a great script, according to Variety.
“I think as a group actors need to stop enabling this behavior. There’s no reason it should be that way. If somebody’s got a good script and you want to put good actors in it then everybody should be taken care of. We’re not asking for millions and millions of dollars. It’s gone too far in the other direction really. If it was just me I wouldn’t care. I probably would do it for free. But I have a family.”
Shannon, who earned himself an Oscar nomination for 2008’s Revolutionary Road, seems to understand what it’s like to work as a struggling actor. His biggest role was in Man of Steel but, if you look at his IMDB resume, you can see a long list of independent projects illustrating his knowledge and experience of being a struggling actor.

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. 30 years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. This summer, they’re here to save the world.
However, Ghostbusters reboot is hitting theaters with a loud cloud of controversy. While the cast and crew might not be afraid of no ghosts, it seems the fans of the show are really not interested in the Ghostbusters movie.
A user on Twitter (via flyckering myth) posted a pic of a Ghostbusters reboot action figure at a retail store already on clearance, and the movie hasn’t even come out.
Ghostbusters hits theaters next week and we will have to wait and see how other critics and fans treat the new movie.
“Ghostbusters” is directed by Paul Feig starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Charles Dance and Michael Kenneth Williams.
The X-men spinoff film starring Channing Tatum was supposed to start filming earlier this year but, after casting controversies and rumors that the movie’s director wanted to fire Channing Tatum, filming will not start until 2017.
According to producer Simon Kindberg, the movie, which will feature Channing Tatum as a superhero, is still in pre-production.
“We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning of spring of next year,” Kindberg told The Hashtag Show in a short interview.
As for the real reason why production was delayed for almost an entire year? According to Comic Book Resources, the reason for the delay was the script, which Kindberg felt wasn’t ready for filming. Back in May, he said that, “there was a moment where we were going to shoot the movie at the beginning of this year, and then we felt it just wasn’t ready.”
We will have to wait and see if Gambit will actually work out to becoming a great movie, especially with Channing Tatum, who hasn’t had a hit movie outside of 22 Jump Street and Magic Mike.

Los Angeles TV production increases thanks to film tax credits.
According to FilmL.A., the non-profit organization that serves as the film office for Los Angeles, reported on Tuesday that it issued permits for nearly 10,000 shooting days during the second quarter of the year. According to the details of the report, TV production, which accounted for the most activity, increase dramatically. Meanwhile, feature film production, which filmed for 1,309 shooting days, posted a larger percentage increase over the second quarter. From THR:
Film production was boosted by four projects, generating 108 shooting days, that have received tax incentives from the California Film & Television Tax Credit Program. They were Battle of the Sexes, in which Emma Stone plays Billie Jean King; How to Be a Latin Lover, starring Rob Lowe and Kristen Bell; Please Stand By, starring Dakota Fanning; and Why Him?, starring James Franco and Bryan Cranston.
“We’re delighted to report a second straight quarter of feature growth for Los Angeles, as we’d hoped for and predicted,” said FilmL.A. president Paul Audley. “We expect these production increases to continue until the state’s incentive reaches full utilization.”

1.4% TV production increase
TV reality production dropped 8.6%
TV comedy production dropped 16.8%
TV drama production increased 3.8%
TV pilot production increased 89.1%
Web-Based TV production increased 20.6%
The increase in film production in Los Angeles is directly linked to their film tax credits. Approximately 38% of all productions were paid by state incentives.
Earlier this year it was announced that Apple was planning to launch their very own original TV series about the “app economy.” Now, Apple has posted an open casting call for the unscripted reality series, which is now known called Planet of the Apps.

The show is being produced by Propagate, a newly launched production company co-owned by Ben Silverman, who is best known for The Biggest Loser, and Howard T. Owens of MasterChef Junior. Will.i.am will also be involved in producing the Apple reality TV series.
The casting call is currently seeking app creators who have a vision to “shape the future, solve real problems, and inspire change within our daily lives.” “We can really tell their stories as we explore how apps are developed and created and incubated,” Silverman says.

Apple and the producers say the program is more than just a reality show, however, as developers featured in the show will receive mentorship from “the world’s best experts in tech and entertainment.” In addition, developers who make it to the final round will receive up to $10 million into their investment, though Apple says developers are not required to take the money or give up any equity in their apps. Finally, apps featured in the show will also receive prime placement in the App Store.
It is unclear when the show will air, but shooting is expected to start later on this year and run through the beginning of 2017 in Los Angeles. Interested developers must have a functioning beta version by October 21st.

Open casting calls will be held in partnership with Product Hunt in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and New York in the next coming months. Propagate says these events will “be an opportunity to meet other tech entrepreneurs and hear from the team behind the series.”

Propagate Opens Casting Call for Unscripted Series About App Creation
LOS ANGELES, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Propagate has announced a casting call for Planet of the Apps, a new unscripted series about the world of apps and the developers who create them, co-produced by Propagate and Apple. Every new report of what filming Suicide Squad was actually like makes me excited to see the final product. While we know that Jared Leto terrorized his cast mates with his method acting. David Ayer also used unconventional methods proved to be invaluable and emotionally draining for his actors. The director didn’t just put the Suicide Squad cast them in intensive pre-production therapy sessions.
“It was a pretty vulnerable place to go,” Margot Robbie told EW. “He wants to know about your personal history and your relationships and your childhood, things like that that you don’t really want to tell a stranger. And then you have to share that with the rest of your squad as well. I really didn’t like that.”
Like it or not, it was all part of David Ayer’s master plan to get the most out of his actors. “What we didn’t realize was what he does in the process is he learns our buttons,” Smith said. “We are really bonding but David is grabbing all of your deepest emotional issues so he can throw them back in your face on set.”
