Things got pretty intense on set of Suicide Squad. There are tons of stories about Jared Leto, the movie’s director, David Ayer, and the fist fights between cast members during rehearsals. But not everyone was okay with the on set antics at first.
Australian actor Jai Courtney admitted he “cringed” when he was offered a character named “Captain Boomerang” in the movie, but he quickly embraced working on the movie after working with David Ayer. Courtney explained that he was committed fully to the role just like the rest of the cast, so much so that he reportedly said he took mushrooms and burned himself with a cigarette while on a Skype call with David Ayer.
The news came in a print interview with Empire, but now Courtney says he was misquoted. Not about doing mushrooms. But, he spoke with Coming Soon to clarify he just so happened to be on mushrooms while researching his character, and David Ayer had nothing to do with it.
“The thing is, why would I take magic mushrooms and get on a phone call with David Ayer? Obviously that’s not the case. All I was saying is that I happened at one point to have taken mushrooms, and I was doing a little thinking about my character, and just investigating stuff a little further.”

According to reports, Channing Tatum is teaming up with James Bond’s Daniel Craig and legendary director Steven Soderbergh for Logan Lucky.
The film’s plot revolves around a heist at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina during a NASCAR Sprint Cup race. Think of it as something of a cross between Days of Thunder and Ocean’s Eleven.
According to Variety, Soderbergh, who has just finished working on TV shows like The Knick and The Girlfriend Experience, fell in love with the movie’s script and personally chose to work with Tatum after casting him in the hit thriller Side Effects, the stripper comedy Magic Mike and Haywire.

HBO’s Vice Principals is currently in hot water after many people accused the show for being racist. HBO’s Vince Principals centers around two rival principals, played by Danny McBride and Walton Goggins, who join forces when they are both passed over for the head job by, Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Herbert Gregory), a black woman.
Only two episodes have been released so far, and already there are accusations and questions about racism because of the show’s script, storyline and depiction of two white men trying to destroy an African American woman’s career.
However, during TCA, the Television Critics Association, Gregory told reports, “I just feel really strongly that we have to look at what it is; it’s about power and it’s not about race and it not’s necessarily about gender. … I think if Melissa McCarthy played the role, they would do the same.”
McBride, who created the show and co-wrote the series with writing partner Jody Hill, said they were “well aware of what the optics of that look like” from the beginning.
However, Gregory argued that she would not have signed up for the show if the show was actually racist. “That’s not the choice that I would make if it was about that. We have to be open. I want to be in a space where I can fight two white men,” she said. “And I want us as an industry, I want us as people who are auditors of the work, to get past [it] and be open and really reach for that idea of equality … because these questions almost keep me from working most of the time.”
Goggins also dismissed the accusations. “I see that criticism and I’m like, ‘Wow, OK, you’re just seeing something at first glance,'” he said. “It’s really about so much more.”
While the cast and crew defended the show. Many people voiced their frustrations with Vice Principals on Twitter.

Suicide Squadwill apparently feature a major end credits scene.
Suicide Squad is one of the most anticipated movies this summer. But, will Suicide Squad feature a post-credits sequence? Post-credit sequences have done an amazing job to sit through credits to see an extra 5 to 10 minutes of footage.
According to reports that you can expect a mid-credits sequence from Suicide Squad. An essential one at that. The website claims the bonus scene is “pivotal and important” which makes the end-credits scene extremely important.
No details were revealed on the content of the sequence, so it can be anything from a new Will Smith soundtrack to Jared Leto’s crazy antics. We will have to have to wait and see what happens after the credits roll.
Did you know? James Franco worked at McDonalds when he was an aspiring actor. A few years ago, the Washington Post published an interesting op-ed by writer/director/filmmaker James Franco. The article centered around Franco’s experience while working at McDonald’s.
He writes, “McDonald’s was there for me. When no one else was.” Franco says his late-night job at McDonald’s was the first job he’d ever had where he didn’t read at work, but he was able to train as an actor. “In high school, I was fired from a coffee shop for reading behind the counter and from a golf course for reading while driving the cart on the driving range…I refrained from reading on the job, but soon started putting on fake accents with the customers to practice for my scenes in acting class.”
But, not everyone is as lucky and as fortunate as James Franco. In fact, acting is not easy and it is not cheap. You have headshots, auditions, and acting classes. So, how does an aspiring actor afford all of these necessities and keep a job? Well, on Reddit, several actors shared their best tips on how to juggle a job and work as an actor.
Priorities
You have a few choices really, but it all comes down to priorities.
If what you want to do with your life is pursue acting as a life long career, then you need to accept that other parts of your life are going to be taking a back seat. What I mean by this is doing things like taking night time or weekends jobs to keep you open for day time auditions. It also means having the resilience, fortitude and saved resources available for that inevitable time when your boss says “us or them” and walking away from a guaranteed paycheck and financial stability for the chance to audition for a gig that you probably won’t get if you do audition, but definitely won’t if you don’t, so you go.
I encourage every young actor to really sit down and imagine their future. If you think that you’d be at the end of your life, looking back and thinking “I should have left that crap job and just DID it”, then look at jobs as temporary money while you work to create your REAL career. If, on the other hand, you think you’d look back and think, “damn, I should have started working more and dreaming less much earlier…” well, there’s your answer.
Now as far as the options, there’s a reason bartenders, waiters and barista’s are the stereotypical jobs for actors. Their hours are usually nights, they’re flexible and worst case scenario, easy to get another one once you’ve had to quit because they didn’t let you have time off to pursue your actual goals. (Even though they ALL say they will, when it comes time, they’re always shocked you need a day off) Also consider things like Uber/Gett or whatever driving service sort of job that you can make your own hours. You could also start your own business and be your own boss, but believe me, that’s just another set of issues, and rewards.
Point being, there ARE options, but none of them are simple and nothing about the decision to make Acting your life’s goal is easy. It’s a constant struggle to book work, but with time you’ll become a pro at juggling multiple jobs and time management. The weight stays the same, it just gets easier to lift once you’ve built up the muscles. – welwood
Focus on acting
If you want the acting to work, any other job has to take a backseat. Your agent will not be okay with you missing auditions, ever.
Any job you have other than acting has to be completely flexible to the acting. Sometimes you get auditions the day of or the night before. Freelancing is the best option, finding a job that is cool with you taking time off at any point during the week/day is the dream job. – calbobbball

TBS is developing a TV series based on Notorious B.I.G lyrics.
TBS is working on a new scripted comedy series that is based around the lyrics of the late Brooklyn rapper, Notorious B.I.G.
The new TV series is currently titled Think B.I.G. and will focus on the life of an inner-city teen who works hard for his family.
The show was initially created by Mass Appeal but, he has joined forces with Notorious B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace and Wayne Barrow of Bystorm Films.
TBS has not yet announced the lyrics that will drive the storyline for the B.I.G inspired series. Nor have they released the show’s cast.
This news should not be that surprising as the success of Fox’s Empire has lead to a new generation of hip hop TV shows and movies. Stay tuned for casting calls, news, and breakdowns surrounding the new TV series.

When it was revealed that Matt Damon only had 25 lines for the movie Jason Bourne, everyone was pretty shocked. But, when it was revealed how much Matt Damon was paid to appear in the movie, it really changes everything.
This news comes after an interview in The Guardian where it was revealed producers thought Matt Damon’s character has evolved into a person who does little talking. Here’s Damon himself on the decision make the character a man of very few words:
Well, I’ve done it three times. In the first movie, the Marie Kreutz character is still alive, so Bourne has a sounding board and he’s more confused about who he is and a lot more chatty. Once she dies in the first act of the second movie, it’s really a very lonely character. And we talked about that mostly on the second one. I remember [screenwriter]Tony [Gilroy] writing me an email saying, ‘You do realize what this means? You do realize you’re not going to talk in this movie.’ I said, ‘No, I love that.’”
According to reports, Matt Damon earned $26 million dollars for Jason Bourne. That’s more than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold Schwarzenegger was paid $15 million to star in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a movie where he only speaks 700 worlds in 137 minutes. That’s roughly $21,429 per word.

Steven Spielberg says Idris Elba should become the next James Bond.f
The legendary director, Steven Spielberg, has voiced his approval for Idris Elba to become the next actor to play James Bond. He told reporters during a recent interview with the UK’s Express, where he declared himself a major fan of the 007 franchise. He also revealed that he’s very eager to see a black James Bond one day, preferably in the next movie. “I think Idris would be my first choice of Bond if Daniel decides not to come back,” Spielberg told The Express.
According to The Express, James Bond producers are very eager to work out a deal with Daniel Craig, and have reportedly pushed the next movie’s release to 2018 to give him more time to make a decision.

Based on Daniel Craig’s comments so far, it seems very unlikely that he will be making a return. But then again, money speaks louder than words. If he does decide to leave, though, the door appears to be wide open for Elba.
It’s pretty amazing that a major Hollywood actor like Steven Spielberg wants to see Idris Elba play James Bond, a character that has traditionally gone to white British actors. Sadly, audiences may not always approve. In fact, when he was announced to play Roland in The Dark Tower, fans bashed him. But, at the end of the day Idris Elba didn’t let that bother him.
Here’s hoping that casting directors decide to cast Idris Elba for the next James Bond movie.

Oprah Winfrey’s The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is now casting photo doubles, stand-ins and featured roles in Atlanta, Georgia. Casting TaylorMade is looking for Caucasian, Asian and kid actors to work to work on the upcoming scenes filming on August 8th.
