‘The Walking Dead’ Star Christian Serratos Shares First Pic of Her Newborn Baby

Looks like there’s a new member of the Walking Dead family. Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita Espinosa in the hit TV series, has given birth to her first child. The 26-year-old actress broke the news over the weekend in an Instagram post with the newborn baby, whom she calls “little W.”  She wished everyone a happy Mother’s Day, which will probably be a memorable one for her.

Happy Mothers Day from little W and me! ?

A post shared by Christian Serratos (@kishserratos) on

Serratos, who is considerably private about her life, revealed that she hand boyfriend, New Politics singer David Boyd, were expecting a baby in March. By then, Season 7 of The Walking Dead had finished filming, so it did not affect her role, even when she had one of the biggest storylines of the year.

Don’t expect the new little one to reduce her role in the upcoming season. The Walking Dead never holds back on featuring heroic female characters, and much of that comes down to the acting skills of the actresses playing those roles.

Serratos joins fellow cast members Alanna Masterson and Sonequa Martin-Green, who both recently had babies while working on the show. In fact, the two actresses continued working well into their pregnancies. This includes working in harsh weather conditions and performing intense stunts. The women deserve a ton of credit for their dedication to the TV series, their fans, and the network.

‘The Purge’ TV Series is Officially Coming Soon – Here’s What We Know

0

The Purge is one of the biggest American franchises at the moment. With a unique plot that centers around the one night a year when all law enforcement is suspended and everything is legal including murder, the franchise has been able to expand with multiple sequels. Now with a TV series and development, it turns out that the show will not discuss The Purge but will center around the fallout that occurs during the other 364 days a year.

The show is being run by the series’ creator James De Monaco, who will be writing and directing the series as well. The show, which will also feature a purge episode, will center around why Americans are so intent on killing each other in an America that is run by a dictator. It will also air simultaneously on two different networks including USA and Syfy. Ultimately, the TV series will lead into the fourth purge movie, which will hit theaters in 2018.

The show will most likely fill in potholes the movies necessarily walk over, like how you started in the first place. As long as they keep those creepy masks, I assume the show will be hit.

‘Straight Outta Compton’ Actor Arrested for Assault

Straight Outta Compton actor Richard Marcus Taylor, who played Suge Knight in the hip hop drama, was arrested for assault. According to reports, Taylor beat up a security guard at a Sunny Isles Beach resort. The 40-year-old actor was charged with misdemeanor battery and is currently being held at a Miami-Dade jail.

The Miami-Dade Police Department said the incident occurred when the security guard asked Taylor to take his feet off a table in the lobby. Taylor reportedly told the guard to leave him alone in the guard told the front desk to call the police. A few minutes later the actor then walked over to the guard and pushed him in the chest. The two had to be physically separated once the police officers arrived on the scene. Taylor, who had a small but significant role in the hit 2015 movie, played the notorious cofounder of Death Row Records.

It is important to note that according to Taylor’s IMDb page is nickname is “kick you in the head”. Since appearing in Straight Outta Compton the actor has had rules on Netflix’s Luke Cage, Gotham, Baby Driver and Sons of Anarchy.

Georgia May Have Just Lost Another MAJOR TV Production

0

Georgia’s  film industry may have lost another TV show. While there are currently over 30 TV shows and movies now shooting in Atlanta the summer, it appears as though another TV series may not be headed back to the ATL.

According to reports, Fox has decided to pull the plug on their reboot of 24. 24: Legacy, which filmed in Atlanta for several months will not be returning for the 2017-2018 season. Why is the show not coming back? Deadline reports that the leading actor, Corey Hawkins, is headed to Broadway to star in Six Degrees of Separation. However, it is important to note that after a strong post-Super Bowl debut, the ratings were not as strong as the network probably would have liked. That said, Fox executives explained that they were happy with the creative direction of the show and they believe Hawkins did an excellent job.

Fox executives explained that they planned to sit down with the executive producer Howard Gordon to see where the franchise can go next.

Ultimately, there still is a chance that the show will return but it may take a while.

This news comes after The CW canceled the hit TV series The Vampire Diaries after the show filmed for nearly a decade in the ATL.

DAMN – Val Kilmer Just Gave the Best Piece of Acting Advice EVER!

0

There are very few actors in Hollywood that know the ups and downs of working in the film industry like Val Kilmer. Kilmer built his career with an impressive resume 1980s and early 1990s. One of his biggest roles was playing Batman in the 1995 hit movie Batman Forever. However, Kilmer failed to capitalize on his success. The role was later recast with George Clooney playing Batman in the next Batman movie. Moreover, he has since struggled to find other strong rules ever since.

Kilmer is now promoting his one-man show about Mark Twain. During a recent ask me anything on Reddit, Kilmer shared advice about breaking into the film industry. In the process, Kilmer shared a tip you would only get from someone that has seen not only the bright side of fame with the dark horrors of it as well.

“Work till you cry yourself to sleep every night for months on end. Work so hard you pass out and wake up crying. Become a world class athlete. Read Shakespeare every day to learn about human nature. EVERY DAY. FOR DECADES. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever take a day off. And never complain. It’s the best job on earth and worth it when you break through. They say Dustin Hoffman couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag, and I knew Kevin Spacey since he was like 15 and he was sooooooooooo bad it used to hurt my eyes. But boy did he work hard and deserves all his awards.”

Kilmer also shared an amazing tip about getting typecast. “I have never been typecast. Made sure of that.”  Essentially, it is up to the accident to make sure that he or she is never typecast.

Learn How to Become a Professional Movie Actor (Video)

Learn how to become an actor on a major feature film

One of the most critical parts to the creative process and filmmaking is the communication between the director and the actor.  The director has a vision and it is his responsibility to communicate his vision so the actor can understand his direction, feelings, and emotions they would like to see on screen. It is tough and definitely not easy.

For example, According to Sharon Waxman’s movie about the film industry, Rebels on the Backlot, George Clooney felt that director David O. Russell had been too rough with an extra and got in his face about it; the men shouted at each other, Russell head-butted Clooney, and Clooney grabbed the director by the neck.

While many filmmakers go to the film school to learn different camera lenses, lighting techniques, filmmaking styles and other technical aspects of filmmaking, rarely does a film school teach a director how to find the best talent to their movie, TV show or production neither does an aspiring filmmaker learn how to communicate with her talent.

It can be a tough and hard process both for the actor and the director. If a director is unable to communicate effectively, then the producer or even the production company may run into issues.

Recently, during a question and answer session with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation,  filmmakers share their experiences and gave tips for actors trying to break into the movie industry. The video features Ana Lily Amirpour, Patrick Brice, Liza Johnson, and Adam Salky discussing their approaches to working with actors.

These filmmakers share their experiences as a director and revealed not only their responsibilities but their expectations they demand, talented actor. While many actors see the casting director is the biggest hurdle to landing the acting job, it is ultimately up to the director to decide who should or should not appear on the screen. The video is about 90 minutes long but is definitely worth it as a gift and exclusive and inside view into the art of filmmaking from the directors perspective.
