LA Divorce Attorney Reveals Why So Many Celebrity Couples Break Up At The Same Time

There’s a real reason why celebrity couples break up at the same time. According to Laura Wasser, one of Los Angeles’ top divorce lawyers who represented Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani, the timing is on purpose. She explained the strategy to Bloomberg Business:

“I’ll tell my clients, ‘I have someone else, I can’t say who, but you should really wait and file [for separation] at the same time,'” Wasser said, because this divides the media attention.

That is pretty incredible. No wonder Wasser is one of LA’s top attorneys. Wasser shared with Bloomberg Business a few other strategies used by Hollywood divorce attorneys:

1) The best time to file a divorce petition is before a holiday weekend, when news outlets aren’t paying close attention.

2) According to Wasser, the county clerk’s office at the Los Angeles Superior Court tends to tip off tabloids when a celebrity shows up in a filing. A spokesperson for the court denied this report. Wasser says she likes to file her cases in branch offices like Santa Barbara, where she said clerks leak fewer documents.

3) Stars are told to tell their spouses they’re filing for divorce before they put in the papers. If they don’t, then they will most likely hear the bad news from the press. ”The turnaround is so fast,” Wasser said. “I have to tell my clients, ‘Okay, the courier is filing it today. Okay, he’s in line to file. Okay, it’s filed. It will be on TMZ within an hour.’” It is incredibly sad something so personal can become so public so fast.

4) Celebrities are advised to negotiate an agreement before they file documents. Not all the terms of those agreements make it into the official papers. “I think we worked on it a good year—no, a year and a half—before it came out on TMZ,” Melanie Griffith said of her 2014 divorce with Antonio Banderas. “And when we did file it, there were some personal things that were agreed upon by Antonio and myself that we had removed from the official papers so they wouldn’t get out.”

5) Celebrity divorce cases are often decided by private judges, sometimes in Wasser’s office. This keeps what happens during the case out of the press.

6) Now that award season is over, expect more celebrity divorces to be announced this March. According to the report, Wasser is currently working on about forty-five cases, some divorce. Wasser explains, divorce attorneys are more sought out in January and February, after the holidays. Separations are announced after the Oscars, when clients no longer have to worry about walking the red carpet alone.

‘Spider-Man’ Sequel Filming Location and Start Date Revealed

Spider-Man: Homecoming fans are probably impatiently waiting for updates on the upcoming sequel to Peter Parker’s first solo Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Now fans may have a piece of information to get excited about the upcoming sequel. Thanks to a new report, we now have an idea about when and where the shooting of the sequel will take place.

According to Omega Underground, filming for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is set to begin in June in Atlanta with a wrap date sometime in the fall/winter of 2018 — likely between October and December. The film is likely to see the return of director John Watts as well as screenwriters Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna and is presently slated for release on July 5, 2019.

While no other details on the movie have been released, the film is expected to be the first installment of the MCU’s Phase 4 following the Avengers: The Infinity War movie, which also filmed in Georgia. The recently released Avengers: Infinity War trailer shows the arrival of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet and Avengers 4 said to be an end of the beginning for the MCU – possibly even with the deaths of some of the current characters. The Spider-Man sequel will also likely somewhat deal with the Avengers 4 aftermath for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

The new shooting schedule also lines up with other Sony Marvel projects. Venom, with Tom Hardy in the lead role, is expected to finish shooting in Atlanta this February 2018; While Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Silver & Black is set to begin filming after that. Venom is scheduled in theaters October 5, 2018, with Silver & Black expected February 8, 2019.

California Wildfires: Los Angeles Shuts Down Filming

After six days of wildfires, half a dozen unconfined fires are still raging in Southern California while being fueled by the Santa Ana Winds and the less than 10% humidity. Each day brings horror to San Diego and LA as the fireballs continue to burn much of the state. In fact, over 100,000 acres and 400 structures have been burned due to the fire.

The Washington Post spoke with San Diego County Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Ron Lane about the Lilac Fire, which has injured multiple people and burned 20 structures so far. Lane says he’s never witnessed strong winds like these in December and warns that thousands of homes are still at risk in California, for “we are nowhere near the end of this.”

As for the Thomas fire, the LA Times says the officials are optimistic that densely populated areas should see relief as early as next week, but trouble will continue elsewhere.

In Ventura County, [firefighters] feared wind could drive the flames into Carpinteria on the coast. Without rain, they said, the fire could burn for weeks in remote parts of the Los Padres National Forest.

“My hope is that within a week, the issues around the population areas are going to be gone, but then it’s still going to be up in the forest in the wilderness areas,” Ventura County Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen said. “The size and the scope of this thing is going to be enormous … There’s no road out there, and the wind is pushing it. You can’t put anybody out in front of it.”

CNN reports the statistics thus far as a result of the six significant blazes that continue burning. About 160,000 acres have gone up in flames, 190,000 residents have evacuated their homes, and 5,700 firefighters are working nonstop to battle the blaze. Moreover, Schools are closed in 16 districts, and high winds will continue throughout the weekend.

According to Reuters, the California wildfires have sent film and TV productions “ scrambling”. The Southern California fires are taking a toll on the film industry, forcing producers of commercials, TV shows, and even student films to stop filming or seek alternate shooting locations. In fact, the LAPD on Wednesday suspended permitted shooting in zones near the fire as well as other areas that were deemed to be at severe risk of burning.

Phil Sokoloski, a spokesman for Film L.A., which coordinates film permits for the city of Los Angeles, told Reuters, “Everyone is usually rushing to complete production ahead of the holidays,” said Sokoloski. “This may put some additional time pressure to finish their work before the holiday season.”

Westworld, the sci-fi TV series by HBO, was among the productions that were temporarily halted on Tuesday due to nearby wildfires.

Also, CBS’ S.W.A.T. shut down for two days, eventually moving to sound stages.

HBO is Bringing Back ‘Big Little Lies’ For Another Season

0

HBO’s award-winning limited series Big Little Lies is coming back for a second season.

Since the first season’s ending with such praise and love by fans and critics, it seemed pretty obvious a second season is on the way. According to Nicole Kidman, because there are people who want this, they’re going to get it.

“This is inspired by the overwhelming response by audiences around the world, conceived once again by Liane Moriarty, realized by David Kelley and now in the hands of visionary filmmaker Andrea Arnold,” Kidman said in a statement. “What a journey this has been. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to keep exploring these female characters and make this series with my friends.”

Nicole Kidman will executive produce season 2 with co-star Reese Witherspoon. The rest of the original cast–Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz is expected to return as well.

According to HBO, this season will center on the  “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting…relationship[s] will fray, loyalties will erode [and] the potential for the emotional and bodily injury shall loom.”

Vulture also reports several new characters are being added to the new season. Including a second grade teacher who gives Renata’s (Dern) daughter Amabella a panic attack about global warming. A new school employee who becomes friends with Jane (Woodley) and the two share their “deepest secrets”; and finally, the parents of Bonnie (Kravitz), who are “controlling and abusive” (mom) and “emotionally distant” (dear old dad). Arnold, most recently the director of American Honey, takes over for Jean-Marc Vallée, who directed the first season.

Strip Club From ‘The Sopranos’ Is Closing For Alleged Criminal Activity

0

The real-life New Jersey strip club that served as the fictional setting for the Bada Bing! on The Sopranos is shutting down for allegedly being home to criminal activity.

New Jersey Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino announced that Satin Dolls is one of two Garden State strip clubs “ordered to cease operations,” reports NJ.com, along with A.J.’s Gentleman’s Club. They have until the 17th to “cease live entertainment due to alleged violations of state laws.”

The clubs and owners — identified as members of the Cardinalle family — have been under state investigation for more than six years, Porrino said.

“The division has alleged that Anthony Cardinalle, who was criminally disqualified from maintaining involvement with the clubs’ operations, nonetheless continued to run the businesses,” Porrino said. “The division also alleges that the owners failed to account for large amounts of cash flowing in and out of the businesses.” (Via)

“Illegal activity was glorified at the Bada Bing in the fictional world of Tony Soprano, but it has no place in modern-day New Jersey,” Porrino said. “It’s time to shut it down.”

‘Stranger Things 3’ May Not Return Until 2019

0

Stranger Things star David Harbour, who plays Police Chief Jim Hopper, says the Stranger Things may not return until 2019.

Harbour is the first person attached to the show to confirm Stranger Things will not return until 2019.

“I think we’re supposed to go into production around April,” he said in a video interview with Variety. “We’ll see, though. I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019.”

“But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day. And the scripts are so sophisticated, but that only comes with time. So the more time they take, the better the scripts are so that to me is the most important thing.”

Sometimes a long wait is better. It gives all the aspiring actors who want to appear on the show a chance to improve their acting resume and credentials. It also provides the show’s writers and creators time to keep the storyline going, on the hit TV series.

“I think we threw out the mold a little bit and started with this stuff afresh,” Harbour said. “And we’re like ‘We’re going to continue to take risks.’ The horror show could have been that Jim Hopper shows up saying catchphrases like ‘Mornings are for coffee and contemplation’ like every scene and we just sort of trot out all the greatest hits. Thankfully we didn’t do that.”

That said, the showrunners sounded like they were working on Stranger Things 3 even before the show was officially renewed by Netflix, and have promised a “weirdly more intimate” season that isn’t just going to throw an even more obvious monster at the cast. It will also bring back Stranger Things 2’s most controversial character.
