According to Deadline, The Passage is Fox’s latest drama pilot from Liz Heldens, Matt Reeves and Scott Free and in partnership with 20th Century Fox TV. Marcos Siega will direct the pilot after “securing permission for him to do the project from Warner Bros. TV, where he is under an overall deal, serving as  director/executive producer on new ABC series Time After Timeafter directing the pilot.”

The TV series is written by the Heldens and centers on a government conspiracy thriller with vampires. The series will span over a hundred years and center around a young girl named Amy who mast save the human race.”

Nickelodeon Is Bringing Back ‘Blues Clues’

Nickelodeon announced this week that it is rebooting the popular children’s series Blues Clues.

 Twenty new episodes have been ordered, and filming will begin this summer. The show will boast a “refreshed signature look,” and there will be an open casting call for a new host in Southern California on April 14.

The original show ran from 1996 to 2006. The show was a mixture of live-action and animation and chronicled the adventures of an animated dog named Blue who leaves clues for the show’s host and the preschool audience to solve so they can find out what Blue wants to do.

Blue’s Clues, which was syndicated around the world. The show was hosted by Steve Burns from 1996 until 2002, and Donovan Patton until 2006.

Nickelodeon also announced a Loud House spin-off series titled Los Casagrandres, the renewal of Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and the pick-up of the game show Keep It Spotless, which is executive produced by John Cena.

Danny McBride Shares Amazing Tips for Aspiring Actors

One of the best pieces of acting advice you will ever hear is that you should “Write your own material.” The idea is that if you create your own script, then you will create opportunities for yourself and help with the actor develop storytelling skills. One actor found success by developing his own material is Eastbound & Down star Danny McBride, who tells Rolling Stone that he came to Los Angeles with dreams to write and direct and not become a comedic actor.

McBride reveals that he has a similar story to many dreamers who move to Los Angeles with plans to make it in Hollywood and he initially ran into some huge obstacles. He recalls “Man, I thought that I’d move to Los Angeles, sell some screenplays, become a director. Then I get there, became a waiter, started working at the Burbank Holiday Inn, was P.A.-ing, ran out of money and didn’t have time to write. I went out there thinking I’d replicate what I was doing in film school. I studied to direct there; I didn’t have anything to do with acting. I was really trying to make that happen, and I quickly learned, so is everybody in that town. I struggled a lot in my early 20s, but looking back on it, I liked how dirty and grimy and dangerous it got. It was living on the edge the whole time.”

One reason why McBride did not give up on his dream is that he had the support of filmmaker and frequent collaborator David Gordon Green.  McBride recalls, “If David thinks I can do this, then I’m not going to waste any time thinking I can’t. I’m just going to go try to deliver what he wants. I found that that came in helpful for everything that happened in my career. Because I went from waiting tables to, six months later, acting with Owen Wilson in Drillbit Taylor, acting with Ben Stiller in The Heartbreak Kid, doing Tropic Thunder with Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise. Literally, a year earlier, I was stoned on my couch watching these motherfuckers on my TV. Now I’m being thrown into scenes with them. It was crazy. It really was just a matter of just not getting in your own head about things.”

However, McBride still thought of himself as a writer and not of an actor. After his first role in Green’s All the Real Girls, McBride thought he’d go back to writing — until one of his other collaborators, Jody Hill, suggested that he write something to star in. He continues, “I didn’t have any ambitions to do more of it. I just was trying to write and figure out what was next. That’s when Jody was like, ‘Why don’t we write something together for you to act in?’ We felt at the time, just because I was in a movie, maybe that would help us get it made. That was when we started talking about Foot Fist Way. We wrote that script, went back to North Carolina, shot it and our careers took their next step from there.”

Legendary Hollywood Casting Director Shares Tips for Aspiring Actors

Casting director Bonnie Zimmermann shares tips for aspiring actors.

Casting director Bonnie Zimmerman is known for casting some of the biggest actors including Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, Glenn Close, Bruce Willis and dozens of other huge names as well. In an interview with Forbes, Timmermann spoke about what she looks for in actors, and how she puts her self on the line to represent actors who went on to have a tremendously successful career.

Timmermann reveals that she tries to see beneath what the actor presents. She explains, “As a casting director if I’m going to put my camera on you, I’m going to look to see what is inside the person as opposed to the physical. The camera reads what we go through in our lives. And I hope that I am like a camera, that I can read the interior.”

Like many casting directors, Timmermann has worked a long time in the film industry. She elaborates on what brought her to this point and reveals she has grown as a casting director alongside the talent she scouted.

She explains “Do what is in your heart. If you don’t ask you don’t receive. You need to get out and try. It doesn’t matter what the result is. The most important thing is that you tried.

Know that you can create the life you want. When I was a kid I was a musician. I wasn’t that good, so I wanted to do something else. By luck, I got a job casting at the Phoenix Theater. There was very little money!  However, several plays that I cast were televised. Five years later the actors in them became big stars, including Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. When I worked in the theater I also cast Buried Child, Sam Shepard’s first play, which won the Pulitzer Prize. From my work in theater directors and producers, including Francis Ford Coppola and Michael Mann, approached me about casting films.

Trust your instincts. When I cast radio plays for the BBC and National Public Radio. I went to the theater, closed my eyes and listened to the voices. Working in radio and theater prepared me for film and television. When I cast for television, I didn’t want to use the same people that you often see on TV. We have many qualities to us. Some of us don’t have good skin. Some of us are heavy. Some are skinny. I love people who have unique faces and think differently. I look for that. I don’t just look for just the standard I-am-beautiful kind of person. I look for character inside and out. It’s not about what we look like on the outside. It’s what we project.

Dive into what you want. I’m not afraid of drowning or what the result will be. I never worry about it in the beginning. I just jump into the pool. And I don’t swim. Of course, it’s terrifying to be rejected. No one wants to be rejected. But if people reject you then that means it’s not the right fit for you.

‘The Walking Dead’ Ratings Fall to Lowest Viewers Since Season 1

The Walking Dead ratings continue to tumble, as the AMC drama series hit its lowest numbers since its first season on Sunday.

The most recent episode 2.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers, and that demo rating is the show’s lowest since Season 1. The last time the series fell below a 3.0 rating was Season 1’s penultimate episode “Wildfire,” which drew a 2.8 rating. Even looking just at the total number of viewers, that 6.8 million is a low we haven’t seen since the Season 2 episode “Better Angels,” which hit 6.89 million viewers.

Season 8 began with solid ratings but viewership dropped significantly in the second episode. Both ratings and viewership have been in steady declines for much of the season. In fact, the midseason premiere last Sunday, featuring the death of Carl Grimes, finally saw a rise in ratings, and it seemed as though the show was headed back on track. Sadly, this week proved that people are losing interest in The Walking Dead.

Overall, The Walking Dead has done well in the Live+3 ratings, as many viewers tend to watch the show on the AMC app or on-demand throughout the week.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC. Fear the Walking Dead will debut its fourth season after The Walking Dead concludes its eighth, at 10 pm ET on April 15.

About Billions:

 Wealth, influence, and corruption collide in this drama set in New York. Shrewd U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is embroiled in a high-stakes game of predator vs. prey with Bobby Axelrod, an ambitious hedge-fund king. To date, Rhoades has never lost an insider trading case — he’s 81-0 — but when criminal evidence turns up against Axelrod, he proceeds cautiously in building the case against Axelrod, who employs Rhoades’ wife, psychiatrist Wendy, as a performance coach for his company. Disney Cruise Commercial Casting Call (Pay is $6000 + Free Cruise Vacation)

Disney cruise line commercial casting call for families.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work between April 14th through April 21st in Orlando, Florida. The compensation is $2,000 per each of the three principal members of the family for fitting and seven-day cruise. No per diem or hotel, as the ship will provide cabins and food (alcohol is not included). Ship embarks from Port Canaveral morning of Saturday, April 14th and returns end-of-day Saturday, April 21st. Ship sails to Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Jamaica and Disney’s Castaway Cay. Shooting will consist of roughly 40 hours of work spread throughout the cruise with lots of time for families to play. Passport Required.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  1. Family – 6 year old daughter (no one under age 6), Dad, Grandpa of any ethnicity – plus other members of family (like mom, grandma, brother or sister) who will get the free cruise and appear on-camera s unpaid supporting cast only. Dad, Grandpa, 6 Yr Old Daughter will all be paid $2,000 each. Six year old is lead in the commercial so they need to be both outgoing and patient.
  2. Family – 6 year old daughter (no one under age 6) Mom, Dad ethnicity mUST be “WORLD” family, which is to say darker hair, eyes, olive complexion. Think Brazilian, Greek, French, Mediterranean, Italian, etc. – no other family members are being sought. Six year old is the lead in the commercial so they need to be both outgoing and patient.
