About Step Up TV Series:

The Step Up series is described as a heart-pounding, sexy, music-filled drama about dancers in a contemporary performing arts school.

The original Step Up (2006), was followed by four other movies – Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up: 3D, Step Up: Revolution and Step Up: All In. The last two films were released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label.

Georgia Chamber Launches Group to Boost The Film Industry (Update)

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is investing in protecting Georgia’s film tax credit.

The group has launched a statewide advocacy organization to work on keeping the cameras rolling in the state.

With such hit shows such as The Walking Dead and Stranger Things taking advantage of the state’s film tax credit, the Georgia Screen Entertainment Coalition (GSEC) launched earlier this month to keep the state’s film industry alive and thriving. Their mission is to be the “go-to” resource for state leaders regarding the film, television and digital entertainment industry in Georgia.

“We want to make sure there’s a single voice speaking on behalf of the industry,” Steve Mensch, president and general manager of studio operations at Tyler Perry Studios told Biz Journals. Mensch is now working as the GSEC’s vice chair of the organization. “Our position is that the legislature has done a terrific job in creating the business climate. We want to make sure it stays that way.”

Since Georgia leaders enacted the film tax credit 10 years ago, the state has established itself as one of the biggest filming locations in the world. In the fiscal year 2018, Georgia had 455 film and TV productions, creating an economic output of $9.5 billion including $2.7 billion in direct spending.

Mensch argues the success of the film industry depends on three points.

  • A Stable Tax Incentive
  • Building a trained workforce
  • Investment in production infrastructure

“We are fighting a global battle to keep business here,” Mensch said. “The world is seeing Georgia through the movie and TV shows being created here.”

“The founding members of GSEC represent Georgia’s top industry and private sector leaders … united by their commitment to protect and promote the screen entertainment industry in our state,” said Chris Clark, the Georgia chamber’s president and CEO. “With the incredible economic impact this industry has on our state, we’re proud to introduce GSEC as the united, cohesive voice of the industry at the Capitol.”

YouTube’s On Becoming a God in Central Florida is now casting background actors in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in New Orleans and Baton Rouge this October 2018.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  1. PARENTS – Currently casting men and women, (ages 18+, any ethnicity) to portray water park guests! You must be OK wearing bathing suits and/or water park attire. This will film in New Orleans on Monday, October 1st.
  2. MEMBERS – Currently casting men and women, (ages 18+, any ethnicity) to portray members of a cultish pyramid scheme at an assembly. You must have business casual clothing. This will film in New Orleans on Tuesday, October 2nd. If you are available to also work on Thursday, October 4th (in Metairie), Monday, October 15th and/or Tuesday, October 16th (in New Orleans), we may be able to book you. Notate the additional date(s) you are available for in your email submission and we will do our best to book you for additional days!
  3. STAFF (2 DAYS) – Currently casting men and women, (ages 18+, any ethnicity) to portray employees at a dead-end office job! You must have business casual clothing. This will film in Metairie on Wednesday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 4th.
  4. FUNERAL GOERS (2 DAYS) – Currently casting men and women, (ages 18+, any ethnicity) to portray Funeral Goers. You must have Funeral attire, clothing in black or other dark colors. This will film in New Orleans on Monday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 16th.
  5. DRIVERS W/ CARS – Currently Casting men and women (18+ years old, any ethnicity) to work alongside their cars. You must be comfortable driving your car in the scene. Looking for vehicles (Sedans, SUVs, Trucks and Vans are OK) in good condition and OLDER than 1995! NO black or white vehicles! ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ is Now Casting a New Speaking Role (Report)

Star Wars: Episode IX is now reportedly casting a supporting speaking role.

Despite filming for Star Wars: Episode IX is still underway, it does not seem the casting director’s work is done. Apparently, there is at least another female character the movie needs before it premieres next year.

According to The Hashtag Show, J.J. Abrams, LucasFilms and the Disney company are looking for a female actress with comedic timing.

The Hashtag Show says, “We have gotten word from our source that they are now on the hunt for an actress, 27-35, to play a supporting role in the J. J. Abrams-directed film. The studio is looking for “KARINA”, described as “a younger Charlize Theron with street smarts and a sharp wit.” The studio is open to any ethnicity, but is looking for someone with “a good sense of humor, solid comedic timing and a strong voice.”

The Hashtag show also says its source says the role has been downgraded from a lead role to a supporting role. As the movie moves into production, the script should be finalized soon and the possibility of not needing as many more roles.

But this gives Star Wars the chance to do some additional fine tuning to the movie.
