Casting director’s for FX new television series ‘How and Why’ Starring Michael Cera is now casting talent in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The comedy’s initial description reads, “The story of a man who can explain how and why a nuclear reactor works, but is clueless about life.” The pilot was written and directed by famed screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, who won two Academy Awards for “Being John Malkovich” and “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.” Kaufman will executive produce with Anthony Bregman, who also collaborated with him on “Eternal Sunshine.”

Wilmington, NC- First casting need for How and Why!!
I am in need of guys to submit for an extra position that would require whoever is selected to wear a bird costume including the head (so must not be claustrophobic). The costume has very specific size requirements so only apply if you meet requirements. As of right now the date needed would be FRIDAY MAY 2 (but please keep in mind this can always change). Must be available all day for what could be an 8-12 hr day. I haven’t gotten BG rates 100% approved at the moment, but rate would be something between $58/8hr-$64/8hr.

Disney’s latest movie ‘Million Dollar Arm’ is turning the movie into a publicity event that could win the average guy a million dollars.
The Million Dollar Arm Pitching contest starts April 25th at Disneyland and Disney World and on April 26 in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood for amateur baseball enthusiasts who think they can pitch like a MLB pro.
According to USAToday, the contest is to follow the sports movie, which centers on the true story of the sports agent JB Bernstein who left to India to discover the next great MLB pitchers among young cricket players in India.
Three hardest-throwing contestants from each location will not only win tickets to Million Dollar Arm‘s May 6 Hollywood premiere, but on the big night, all nine will have a chance to nab a cool $1 million — provided he or she can land a smokin’ 100 mph strike.

It looks as though filming for ‘Divergent’ is expected to stay in Georgia for a while.
Lionsgate has announced that they will be splitting the final book, Allegiant of the Divergent series into two movies.
The first Divergent made $139 million dollars worldwide featuring Shailene Woodley. Lionsgate CEO announced that he planned to continue the series. “We’re confident that ‘Divergent’ is on its way to becoming another important franchise for us, and we have just greenlit the second film, ‘Insurgent,’” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.
‘Divergent’ was filmed in Chicago, Illinois but, after the success of novel turned movie, producers have decided to move filming to Atlanta, Georgia.
“The Illinois incentive was designed for good reason: to maximize the utilization of local businesses, performers and crew. But true enough, it’s not the biggest incentive out there. Lionsgate also shot ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ in Atlanta. They’re very familiar with the location and the benefits of Georgia’s film incentive. Many factors played into their decision, but ultimately, they felt Atlanta was a good fit for the sequel.[Chicago Tribune]”
Producers were not surprised at the success of Divergent and plan to continue in the same format as ‘The Hunger Games’
The fourth film will open on March 24, 2017. Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns made the announcement Friday on CNBC.
The move was not a surprise. Burns told Variety last month, “Assuming the movie works as we expect, we like the idea of a ‘Divergent’ film every March to complement our ‘Hunger Games’ films every November.”
“Divergent” was produced for $85 million and greenlit in December 2012 with Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher of Red Wagon producing. Neil Burger directed the tale of a dystopian Chicago in the 22nd Century.

Star Wars: Episode VII will shoot in and around parts of the United Arab Emirates starting mid-May.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming is scheduled to start in Abu-Dhabi and will last for about four weeks.
The J.J. Abrams production is looking to recreate the planet of Tatooine and it looks like producers are seeking to use the United Arab Emirates as the perfect filming location.
Abu Dhabi is likely to be the new Tatooine.
If you can’t recall the planet Tatooine, it was the home to pod racing and Mos Eisley cantina. The original Star Wars filmed in Tunisia. But, sources close to The Hollywood Reporter claim that the political climate in North Africa is too dangerous to film a big Hollywood production.
Star Wars Episode VII is also expected to shoot at England’s Pinewood Studio. Disney has yet to officially unveil the cast of the production.
Abu Dhabi is becoming a bigger destination for feature films as Fast and the Furious started shooting several scenes there a few weeks ago.

Tosh.0 Production Assistant Accidentally Killed by L.A. Sheriff Deputy
Last Monday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department accidentally shot and killed a production assistant for mistaking him for a stabbing suspect.
According to the Los Angeles Times, John Winkler went over to a neighbor’s apartment Monday night to try to help three people who were held hostage at knife point.
As deputies continued attempts to contact the people in the apartment, the apartment door suddenly opened and a male victim came rushing out. He was covered in blood and bleeding profusely from the neck. Simultaneously, Victim Winkler ran out of the door, lunging at the back of the fleeing victim. Both ran directly at the deputies. Winkler was similar to the description of the suspect and was wearing a black shirt. Believing Winkler was the assailant and the assault was ongoing and he would attack the entry team; three deputies fired their duty weapons at him.
Winkler was shot once and later died at the hospital.
One of Winkler’s friends spoke to the Los Angeles Times after the shooting pointing out that John had moved to Los Angeles six months ago from Washington state to pursue a career as a prodder. “He basically went to help some neighbors and ends up getting shot,” Devin Richardson said.
The suspect, Alexander McDonald, was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of torture.
