Boston Marathon Bombing Series is Coming Soon to FOX

FOX is currently in production to create an event series surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing.

The untitled project is in development and is based on the best-selling book Long Mile Home, written by Boston Globe. The book centers on five people whose lives are changed forever after the two bombing blasts at the finish life of the 2013 Boston Marathon.

According to Deadline, “Basil Iwanyk, producer of We Are Marshall and executive producer of The Expendables franchise, will produce through his Thunder Road production company. He and Kent Kubena, who’s filming Gods Of Egypt, will shepherd the project for Thunder Road.”

Rod Lurie is set to write and direct the new series.  Lurie recently visited Boston ahead of the 2014 marathon to get a sense of the people and the place. “It’s a big beautiful city,” he posted on Facebook, “with a bounce-back population that takes care, not just of its own, but others as well, and they aren’t about to be stopped by a couple of punks, potheads without a winning bone in their body, cowards without a country. There’s no place on Earth I’d rather be than right here, right now.” Visiting the apartment where the bombers lived, Lurie found a note thumb-tacked to the door: “Nobody in the building has anything to say to journalists/reporters. Please go away.”

USA Network “Satisfaction” is Now Hiring Crew and Extras in Atlanta

Production for the USA Network series ‘Satisfaction’ is ramping up production in Atlanta.

The new drama on the USA network is described as a “provocative drama that explores modern marriage at its midpoint.”  The new television series features Matt Passmore (“The Glades”) as Neil Truman and Stephanie Szostack, (“The Devil Wears Prada”) as Grace.

The USA network describes the series by answering the question, “What do you do when having it all is not enough?” by delving into their shocking and unconventional choices.

HBO ‘Blue Goose Hollow’ Starring Queen Latifah to Filming and Hiring in Atlanta

Queen Latifah to produce and star in the HBO movie, “Blue Goose Hollow”.

Queen Latifah is a hard worker. Between producing TV shows and movies, hosting her own talk show, now she is getting ready to star in the story of the legendary blues singer Bessie Smith in a HBO movie.

The movie will be directed and written by Dee Rees, the director of the Pariah. Latifah will star as Smith, and her production company Flavor Unit will produce alongside the Zanuck Company, Shelby Stone Productions, and HBO.

Production is set to begin in June in Atlanta, Georgia.

The new movie will center around Bettie Smith’s life and music. Smith was one of the biggest blues singers in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Her nickname was ‘The Empress of The Blues’. Her career took a hit during the Great Depression, and as she was trying to make a comeback, she lost her life due to a major car accident.

‘Ride Along 2’ Starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube Now Filming and Hiring in Atlanta

Production for ‘Ride Along 2’ is heating up and producers for the sequel are now getting ready to film in Atlanta.

The Kevin Hart and Ice Cube production is getting ready to begin filming in the next couple of weeks in Atlanta, Georgia. According to Deadline, filming is set to begin late June and early July. It is also reported that the movie will become more multi-cultural to expand to a wide demographic.

The original Ride Along made $120 million in the first weekend now, Tim Story, the director of Fantastic Four, and Think Like a Man Too, will direct ‘Ride Along 2’.

Kevin Hart is currently filming ‘Get Hard’ alongside Will Ferrell in New Orleans, Louisiana. Filming for ‘Get Hard’ is expected to wrap this May. ‘Get Hard’ centers on Will Ferrell who seeks the help of Hart to toughen him up before serving a sentence in a maximum security prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

‘Pitch Perfect 2’ is now filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana featuring Rebel Wilson.

Pitch Perfect 2 star Rebel Wilson is returning to the stage with  Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, and Brittany Snow in the new sequel to the hit movie. Wilson recently tweeted a photo (see below) letting everyone know that movie rehearsals are underway.

The movie is filming in Baton Rouge, Lousisana and casting directors are seeking extras to work on the movie.

 

The sequel to the movie centers on Fat Amy and Beca as they move to college. The upcoming movie is directed by Elizabeth Banks from 40 Year Old Virgin and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

Here’s an explanation of what those steps are!

1. AVAILABILITY CHECK:
Complete a survey with your availability.

An availability check does NOT mean you are booked!

Once we receive everyone’s availability, we will book people based on the needs of the production for this date.

2. BOOKING EMAIL
If you are booked, you will receive a BOOKING EMAIL. It will give you the details of the date you are booked to work. You must respond to your booking or you will be replaced.

If you FILL OUT THE SURVEY and don’t receive a booking email, it means that you are not needed for this particular date. We will do our best to get a booking email to you no later than 48 hours of the shoot date, but that is not always possible with promos.

3. CALL INFO
The day before your booking you will receive your CALL INFO. You can expect this email to arrive some time between 8:00PM and 11:00PM. When you receive your CALL INFO email you are REQUIRED to respond. This is how we know you have received the information about wardrobe, location, call time, etc, and that you will be there.

‘The Librarians’ starring Noah Wyle casting call in Portland, Oregon.

Producers and casting directors are seeking talents for the new television series ‘The Librarians’.

The Librarians’ centers on “members of an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library who are dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality and protecting the artifacts housed in the library.”

The series will star Noah Wyle (Falling Skies) as the Librarian who is tasked with keeping track of these supernatural objects of power. Rebecca Romijn will also star as Wyle’s female counterpart, Eve Baird, who is also tasked with protecting the artifacts. Also appearing in the new series will be Christian Kane of “Leverage”, Lindy Booth, Matt Frewer of “Orphan Black” and John Larroquette. Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin are also rumored to be part of this project.

The casting call is for those 18 & older, all types of looks and ethnicities are welcome to apply.

AwesomenessTV to Produce Movie With Vine Stars Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas

Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas have more than 11 million subscribers on the video social network and now AwesomenessTV CEO Brian Robbins plans to make a movie with the social media celebs, according to TheWrap.

Robbins directed hit movies such as “Varsity Blues” and “Hardball” but, this is not the first time the critically acclaimed director has went to social media to find his next production. The television and film producer produced a movie with YouTube star Fred aka Lucas Cruikshank. Robbins believes the large amount of fans will definitely turn out to see Grier and Dallas in a feature film

“Nash and Cam have really authentic voices and a strong connection with their audience, which is why we’re so excited they are going to be part of the AwesomenessTV family,” Robbins said in a statement. “Making a movie is a natural next step for them. They already have a dedicated fan base.”

Grier and Dallas have more than 11 million followers on the Vine App and an additional 3.5 million followers on Twitter and Instagram. The two actors will move their YouTube channel to AwesomnessTV’s network in the next couple of days.

FOX Cancels ‘Almost Human’ the JJ Abrams Production

FOX cancels JJ Abrams produced tv series ‘Almost Human’

The futuristic drama failed to connect with audiences and Fox has decided to give the television series the boot. The drama featured Karl Urban and Michael Ealy and when it premiered in November it had a rough start.

It is interesting to note that the ratings for Almost Human were nearly the same as Kevin Bacon’s ‘Almost Human but, according to Deadline, FOX decided to give the robocop tv series the axe.

 In fact, the March season (and series) finale of Almost Human logged a 1.5 rating in 18-49, matching the Live+Same Day rating for last night’s finale of The Following.(The Following is a bigger DVR draw). Almost Human‘s chances started to slip once Fox’s drama pilots started to come in.

But, you have to keep in mind that FOX has to make room for their upcoming pilots. The soon to be picked up Batman prequel, Gotham is set to premiere as well as The Red Band Society and Empire.

If you never caught an episode of Almost Human, the television series centers on a cop that is paired with a realistic robot. The series was created from producers of Fringe, JJ Abrams and J.H. Wyman.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Cast Finally Revealed

J.J. Abrams has released the Star Wars Episode VII cast with new comers, veterans, and favorites.

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill will reprise their leading roles in the upcoming feature film.

Other actors include Adam Driver, Oscar Isac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Max Von Sydow, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Kenny Baker as R2-D2, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca.

While it has not been released as to what roles each actor would play, it is assumed that Adam Driver from the television series Girls will play the main villain in the Star Wars sequel.

“Assassin’s Creed” Movie is Coming Soon to a Theater Near You

Assassin’s Creed movie is coming to a theater near you.

Video games are a billion dollar industry so, it is expected movies will follow.

Now, New Regency and Ubisoft are working on Assassin’s Creed, a live-action version of the Ubisoft video game that has Michael Fassbender attached to star in the production.

According to Deadline, producers are seeking ‘Macbeth’ director to direct the upcoming production.

Kurzel isn’t a household name in the action arena just yet, but he and Fassbender just came offMacbeth. They wrapped that Weinstein Company film, with Fassbender in the title role, and the actor must have really liked what he saw. No deal yet, but they are eager to get this film started, so it’ll come soon.

This is not the only video game turned movie. Ubisoft is working with Regency to produce Splinter Cell, with Dougal Liman as director and Tom Hardy starring in the production.
