Matthew McConaughey Might Not be in ‘Magic Mike XXL’

0

After winning an Academy Award, Matthew McConaughey may not be in the upcoming Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL.

Many argue that Matthew McConaughey was robbed of an Academy Award after his performance in Magic Mike. Think about it, he was a crucial part to the success of the feature film. His performance for “Ladies of Tampa” has men and women excited for the sequel.

It is arguable that Matthew McConaughey had so much of a major influence in Magic Mike, that Channing Tatum, writer of Magic Mike 2, uses a sculpture of Matthew McConaughey as inspiration for the sequel (see the photo below).

Magic Mike 2
Facebook

But, according to Gabriel Iglesias in a recent interview with Dish Nation,  Matthew McConaughey may not even be involved in the movie.

“Word has it that Matt’s probably not gonna be involved, because he’s worth a lot of money now – that whole Oscar thing – so, but yeah, I’ve signed on for part two.”

It must a secret rule that after winning an Academy Award you can’t do stripper movies any more.

Gregory Jacobs is expected to direct the sequel, taking over from the original director Steven Soderbergh. Jacobs was the assistant director in the previous Magic Mike movie.

Channing Tatum Told GQ that a sequel will be set in a stripper convention, based again on his experiences as a stripper. Gabriel Iglesias said he’s heard that they are “taking the show on the road.”

Magic Mike XXL will hit theaters in the Summer of July 3, 2015. Regardless of Matthew McConaughey, Fourth of July is going to be one hot summer weekend.

Do you think Matthew McConaughey had a major impact on the first Magic Mike? Are you going to watch Magic Mike 2? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

Here’s What your Acting Resume Should Look Like

0

Here are some resume basics to help you stand out in your next audition.

Have you ever wondered how to format your acting resume? Do you want to learn what your resume should look like as an actor? Well have no fear, here are some tips from the SAG-AFTRA, the official union for actors like Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and Brad Pitt on how to format your acting resume.

Here's What your Acting Resume Should Look Like

The image below shows what your resume should look like. But basically, your resume is your first chance to tell the casting director, director, producer, and production assistant that you are worth their attention. It may be the headshot that draws the producer’s attention, but it’s your resume that showcases your abilities, achievements, and illustrates your level of professionalism, dedication, and experience.

How can I make my acting resume stand out?

Typically, a casting director will spend only a few seconds looking at your resume. Therefore, it is important to highlight upon your major accomplishments.

What should I do, If I don’t have acting experience?

But, what do you do if you don’t have a lot of experience? Well, according to Melissa McQueen of the Kim Dawson Agency, “being referred by a casting director, respected acting instructor or producer who has hired the talent is a good way to present yourself in the best light.”

Should your acting resume have special fonts and colors?

Are you deciding to spend a lot of time with a fancy layout? Well Don’t. Casting director Don Shaner says, simple, easy to read, clean, straight information is best. Leave the fancy texts and colors alone.

Should you put extra work on your acting resume? Yes, unless you live in Los Angeles.

According to Paul Weber from the Casting Society of America (CSA) he argues that you “Don’t list extra work on your resume unless you are a regional actor in a regional market. Producers shooting in your state like to know that you have worked on a set. But, when you move to Los Angeles, drop all of your extra credits. They won’t help you here.”

Check out the image below to give you an idea on what your acting resume should look like.

AMC ‘Breaking Bad’ Renews ‘Better Call Saul’ for a Second Season

0

AMC Renews ‘Breaking Bad‘ Spinoff ‘Better Call Saul‘ but pushes the premiere to 2015.

We have good news and bad news. The bad news is ‘Better Call Saul‘ was set to start on November, 2014 but is now set to begin sometime 2015. Now, for the good news, before ever releasing a single episode, AMC has decided to renew ‘Better Call Saul‘ for two seasons.

The Breaking Bad prequel has been renewed for an additional 13-episode season, according to an announcement released on Thursday.

The second season is expected to start in early 2016. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Better Call Saul‘ will air around the same time as ‘The Walking Dead‘ in the first few months of 2015 and 2016.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is directing the series premiere and will be co-showrunning the series with Peter Gould, the guy who created the character of Saul Goodman. Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as ‘Saul Goodman‘.

“Production on Better Call Saul is underway, and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date. We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series, and today we happily confirm that our initial Saul order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes,” said AMC president Charlie Collier. “When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of Breaking Bad, there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves. We have a strong history with Vince, Peter, Bob, the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on Saul and all share a focus on making it a true television event. No half measures.”

Better Call Saul centers on the life of Saul (Bob Odenkirk) before he appeared on Breaking Bad.

Gilligan, Gould, Thomas Schnauz, Gennifer Hutchison, Bradley Paul and Gordon Smith are among the writers on the spinoff, which is executive produced by Gilligan, Gould, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. Stewart A. Lyons and Schnauz are co-executive producers.

Filming is currently taking place in Albuqurque, New Mexico. White Turtle Casting is currently seeking extras to appear in the television series and by the looks of the recent ‘Better Call Saul‘ second season announcement, they are looking for a TON of people to appear in the series.

What do you think of AMC‘s decision to give ‘Better Call Saul‘ a second season? Do you think they are confident the show is going to be a hit? Do you think the show will live up to the ‘Breaking Bad‘ expectations? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

‘The Walking Dead’ Producer Says The Show Has Only One Season Left

0

A producer of The Walking Dead argues that illegal downloading of The Walking Dead, will most likely end the series in one to two seasons.

Gale Ann Hurd has produced several hit productions including Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2:Judgement Day, and several other hit production. Now, she is working on The Walking Dead as an executive producer.

The Guardian recently interviewed her during the Cannes Lions festival and the conversation surrounded piracy. Currently, The Walking Dead is the second-most pirated series in the world. She commented that we are close to the point where piracy is ruining the TV industry. “We are poised on the precipice … because of the prevalence of piracy. The content creators won’t get a revenue stream, to the point that they won’t be able to create.” The most disturbing aspect is that Gale Ann Hurd suspects there’s a season or two left in Robert Kirkman‘s, the creator of ‘The Walking Dead‘ material – but Hurd strongly feels piracy threatens the industry as a whole.

READ MORE: “The Walking Dead” Has Plans to Film for 12 Seasons

“When you do go on these websites, they look legitimate,” she continues. “They have advertising from well-known brands … How would a consumer know the difference between a legitimate site and an illegitimate site?”

Hurd argues that Google Search Engines could do a better job eliminating what is appears in search results.“Search engines should be able to filter out pirated websites,” she says, pointing out that in searching for House of Cards she was unable to find Netflix as an option in the first 50 hits of a Google search.

Despite Gale Ann Hurd‘s assertion that the show will only last a season or two, I find it hard to believe.

Indiewire reports that at the Producer’s Guild of America’s Produced By conference last month that The Walking Dead Executive Producer David Alpert was asked about producing a show from the original comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

“I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what Season 10 is gonna be,” Alpert replied. “We know where season 11 and 12 … we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there.”

This is more than a piracy issue. The Walking Dead is not just a hit show in the United States but a major series across the world. Australia for example, will have to wait for months before ever seeing a new episode. So, instead of waiting they visit websites where they can illegally view the hit series. At the end of the day, piracy is a problem but, with any industry, it has to evolve. Besides,  are also more likely to spend their money on film, music and gaming content.

READ MORE: ‘The Walking Dead’ – How to Become a Zombie on The Walking Dead!

What do you think? Is ‘The Walking Dead‘ only going to last one or two more seasons? Do you think piracy hurts the entertainment industry? Why do you think Gale Ann Hurd and David Alpert have different opinions as to how long the show will last? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!
