Aaliyah Biopic ‘On Hold’, Leading Actress Zendaya Coleman Quits

Lifetime’s Aaliyah Biopic ‘on hold’ after the lead actress, Zendaya Coleman leaves the movie.

The Lifetime movie, “Aaliyah:Princess of R&B’, was set to start filming this summer with a release date for this Fall. But, a rep for Lifetime announced that Zendaya will not play Aaliyah in the movie.

“We are sad Zendaya will no longer portray Aaliyah. Production is currently on hold,” Lifetime wrote in a statement posted on its Twitter account on Sunday. A network rep did not comment further. 

Zendaya Coleman was cast as the lead role in the upcoming movie. The singer/actress was to record four of the songs that would have appeared in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie was titled Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, was to begin filming over the summer with a fall premiere date. The script was based on the book Aaliyah: More than a Woman, by Christopher Farley.

After the movie was announced the family of Aaliyah fought against the making of the movie.

Lifetime “didn’t reach out,” Aaliyah’s cousin Jomo Hankerson told The New York Daily News in a June 24 story. He added that the family was seeing a lawyer about rights issues.

“We want a major studio release along the lines of ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It,’ the Tina Turner movie,” Hankerson explained to the paper.

With Zendaya backing out, it looks as though the Aaliyah family is getting what they want.

Erykah Badu Tries to Kiss a Reporter Live on TV

Singer, Erykah Badu crashes a live broadcast in New York City

Mario Diaz, from New York’s PIX11, was reporting on Shia LaBeouf when singer Erykah Badu, wearing an awkwardly large hat, walks by and she tries to crash the live broadcast and give Diaz a kiss.

Badu later apologized to Diaz on Twitter, but she did not explain why she decided to play a prank on him.

Mario Diaz replied to her with lyrics from Prince’s “Kiss.”

Diaz’s wife and two-year-old were there with him when Badu tried to get a smooch. His wife does not care/is amused.

This is not the first time this happened to Diaz, according to Pix11:

In 1993, while announcing the second title fight between heavyweights Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, a paraglider crashed a few feet away from Diaz’s broadcast position.

A few years later, Diaz was photobombed by Tiger Woods while doing a report prior to his first professional victory.

Here’s another video of Shia LaBeouf trying to start a fight on the streets of New York City.

Shia LaBeouf is going through a hard time in his life. LaBeouf was caught by paparazzi trying to start another fight, one week before his recent arrest. The fight happened outside of a strip club in New York City. The video shows LaBeouf boxing behind a man trying to keep him away from another man.

Drumline sequel,Drumline 2 (Drumline: A New Beat) is seeking Drumline coaches in Atlanta.

Casting directors are looking for fans of Drumline or individuals that go to college football games just for the half-time show.

VH1 has given a green light to Drumline: A New Beat. It will be the next original movie to follow the widely popular TLC Biopic that was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nick Cannon is expected to make a return, reprising his role as well as executive producing.

Drumline 2, will focus on a female lead — Dani Bolton from Brooklyn — and her decision to defy her parents, go to school in New Orleans and bring a once-prominent drumline back to life.

Facebook is Playing With Your Emotions on Purpose

Facebook is playing with your emotions.

Facebook has been experimenting on us. A new paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals that Facebook intentionally manipulated the news feed of almost 700,000 users in order to study the emotional contagion through social networks.

The researchers, who are associated with Facebook, Cornell, and the University of California-San Francisco tested whether less positive messages people saw made those people less likely to post positive content themselves. Would posts with sad or angry words from someone’s Facebook feed make that person write more gloomy updates?

They tweaked the algorithm by which Facebook sweeps posts into members’ news feeds, using a program to analyze whether any given textual snippet contained positive or negative words. Some people were fed primarily neutral to happy information from their friends; others, primarily neutral to sad. Then everyone’s subsequent posts were evaluated for affective meanings. [VIA]

The results found that social networks affected positive and negative emotions people had. But, at the same time Facebook intentionally made thousands of people depressed.

This raises some ethical questions. The team may have skipped the ethical research standards and went straight for results and according to The Slate, they may have overstepped their federal law and human rights regulations. “If you are exposing people to something that causes changes in psychological status, that’s experimentation,” says James Grimmelmann, a professor of technology and the law at the University of Maryland. “This is the kind of thing that would require informed consent.”

But, as long as you sign up with Facebook and agree to their terms and conditions you are able to have your emotions, and feelings manipulated.

BET Awards Pre-Show Party Shooting, Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead, Several Injured

BET Awards Pre-Show Party stabbing leaves 1 dead, 5 others injured in Los Angeles.

The mayhem included a deadly shooting at a restraunt in East Hollywood and a stabbing in the Hollywood area.

One person was killed at least five others injured when violence started at two BET Awards pre-show parties this weekend in Los Angeles.

In one incident, a man was shot to death and four others injured at an overnight party at Monalizza Restraunt and Banquet Hall in 1100 block of North Vermont Avenue, Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The shoot occurred around 5:17 am on Sunday, when a gunman opened fired on a crowd partygoers, the LAPD said.

Three of the victims were rushed to a local hospital by ambulance including an adult male who died a short time later.

Video from the scene, aired on local TV station CBS Los Angeles, shows partygoers filing out of the restraunt as paramedics performed CPR on one of the victims.

In a seperate altercation, a man was stabbed at a BET Awards pre-show party on Saturday night at Lure nightclub in Hollywood.

The incident started around 9 p.m. at the night club. The victim was in his 30s and rushed to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

A security guard inside the club told CBS Los Angeles that rapper The Game was in attendance when the stabbing took place.

Both incidents are currently under investigations and no arrests have been made in either case.

The BET Awards are taking place on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Chris Rock will host the upcoming award show tonight.

‘8 Mile’ movie outtakes show extras battling for screen time in the movie

These ‘8 Mile‘ outtakes really show how incredible Eminem was on set the movie. During the production of the rap battle scenes, the director hired dozens of extras to work on the movie. After several days of filming, the extras got bored with being on the set and often tired of hearing the same routines over and over again.

Then, the director noticed that a lot of the extras in the crowd were rapping between the scenes and decided to hold a rap competition for a chance to be in the movie. After a few days of competitions, four lucky actors were selected to battle Eminem in the movie.

At first, Eminem was told that he would just pantomime rapping in order to save his voice. But, the crowd started to make fun of him. By, the time the second rapper battled, Eminem started improvising and battled rapped against his once background extra, turned rapper/actor.

This is a great video to see a behind the scenes look into filming of 8-mile and how a director connected with the crew on set and created an amazing improvisational performance.

‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ made $120 million in one day

Despite many people agreeing that ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction‘ is a horrible movie, the latest ‘Transformers‘ movie rocked the box office with optimus prime.

In fact ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction‘ is currently the worst reviewed movie Michael Bay has ever made, even worse than ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ where even Michael Bay admits was a terrible movie, the fourth ‘Transformers’ movie still made 121 million dollars on Friday.

This weekend, ‘Transformers 4‘ broke records in China. “Transformers: Age of Exctinction” had the largest opening and premired on the most movie screens in Chinese movie history.

The movie is expected to do 42% better than the last ‘Transformers‘ movie which had an opening of $161 million worldwide, and should easily be enough for the biggest movie of 2014 beating ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘ which made $95 million.

Many argue, what made the movie do so well was the amount of consumer research that was done on the movie. The entire movie was focused on the key demographic of people that go to the movies, middle-aged men. This focus group is more likely to buy multiple tickets for himself and his family versus, young men who will either not watch the movie at all or simply watch the movie by themselves.

At the end of the day, Michael Bay knows exactly who his target market is and intends to cater to them with each and every film.

Expect a Transformers 5 coming soon to a theater near you.

‘The Walking Dead’s Exec Producer Says to Expect ‘Savageness’ in Season 5

What do you think is going to happen in season 5 of the Walking Dead?

Writer and series executive producer Robert Kirkman offered some vague spoilers on what millions of people can expect in the fifth season of the hit zombie series.

Assuming you’re caught up on the series, minor spoilers ahead. If you are not caught up with The Walking Dead, then major spoiler alert.

When Season 4 of The Walking Dead ended, most of the lead characters were seen trapped inside a railroad car at Terminus, a place that was supposed to offer them shelter.

EW confirmed with Robert Kirkman that the characters will get out of the train car. Kirkman says, “It is through ingenuity and creativity and somewhat savageness that they are able to make their way out of that train car,” Kirkman said, in the interview. “They are definitely not in that train car for multiple seasons.” 

So, expect savageness at the start of The Walking Dead season 5. This is not too hard to believe, Officer Ricky showed his willingness to go full-savaged on his enemies during the Season 4 finale, when he bit a hole through Joe’s throat.

Kirkman added that we will get to know the people of Terminus a lot more in the upcoming episodes.

I will say, there’s a lot going on with Terminus. To a certain extent, at the end of Season 4, Terminus was a big mystery. I can say that in our premiere episode of Season 5, we’re gonna give a ton of answers of who the people of Terminus are, what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, what’s going on with them… By the end of that episode, you’re going to have a much better understanding of what’s going on with them and why they’re so important to the show. And yeah, I think that’s pretty much all I can say. Oh, and Daryl dies.

I’m assuming that Kirkman is joking about Daryl dying. But, hey you never know.

In the comic books, the people of Terminus were a group of cannibals. So, we may find out if that remains true in the TV series version.

Kirkman also commented on his plans to continue the show until season 15. But, at the same time he is taking it one season at a time.

It”s kind of a strange endeavor at this point, because the show is going so well and the source material is not ending anytime soon. The potential is pretty big. All that said, I’m just hoping we make it to Season 7, so we’ll see.”

The Walking Dead Season 5 will air this fall.

CBS ‘Under the Dome‘ casting call for families in North Carolina

CBS Under the Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome.

Casting directors are looking for families of four with a 5 to 7 year old, 9 to 11 year old and two parents. Filming will take place on Monday, June 30th.

Producers for ‘Triple Nine’ movie is currently seeking actors for featured roles in the movie filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Casting directors are seeking actors with tattoos and men with dreadlocks for scenes in the upcoming movie, ‘Triple Nine‘ movie.

‘Triple Nine’ is the latest production from Open Road Films which features Casey Affleck, Norman Reedus, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer and from the cast of Batman Vs Superman, Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).

Triple Nine centers on a crew of dirty cops that attempt a robbery. But, something goes terribly wrong.

Producers of Scouts vs Zombies posted a Casting Call for military guys in Los Angeles

Scouts vs. Zombies centers on the eve of their last camp out, three scouts discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak.

The upcoming feature film features Patrick Schwarzenegger as the popular high school quarterback who is a rival to the boy scout troop. Scouts vs. Zombies also features Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, Joseph Morgan and David Koechner.

The movie is directed by Christopher Landon and is produced by Andy Fickman, Todd Garner, Bryan Brucks and Betsy Sullenger.

Sande Alessi Casting is currently looking for extras to play military type guys and humvee drivers in Los Angeles. Extras must be willing to get a military haircut and must be in good shape.
