MTV’s ‘Finding Carter’ trailer shows all the drama behind child abduction

MTV does a great job with coming up with creative types of television series. Their latest television series, “Finding Carter” definitely illustrates MTV’s creativity.

“Finding Carter” centers on a teenage girl who was abducted at age three and finds herself reunited with her long-lost blood relatives.

A new trailer for the upcoming television series, shows Carter’s relationship with her real family as being more awkward and tense than anyone can expect.

‘Finding Carter‘ is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia and features Cynthia Watros, Anna Jacoby-Heron,  Alexis Denisof and Zac Pullam. 

‘Finding Carter’ premieres on July 8 at 10p.m.

‘Grumpy Cat’ Christmas Movie is Coming to Lifetime

Lifetime Network is making a ‘Grumpy Cat’ Christmas movie.

Grumpy Cat is one of those rare memes that the world does not get bored with.

Whether Grumpy Cat is upset about Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ music video, or covering the front page of The Wall Street Journal, has become the biggest thing to be discovered on the Internet since, Justin Bieber.

Grumpy Cat MovieGrumpy Cat‘s popularity originated from a picture posted to the social news website Reddit by Bundesen’s brother Bryan on September 22, 2012. It was made into an image macro with grumpy captions. “The Official Grumpy Cat” on Facebook has over 5 million “likes”.

Now, Grumpy Cat is finally getting a movie. The adorable cat will star in Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever for Lifetime, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tim Hill (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Jeff Morris will pen the script, about a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her. “It brings fun and irreverence that we haven’t had at Lifetime,” says VP of original movies Arturo Interian, noting that his teenage daughters are fans of Grumpy and gave him the initial idea for the project. “We’re so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes.”

They have not cast the voice of Grumpy Cat yet, but maybe Bill Murray will get a second chance at being a cat since ‘Garfield‘.

But, it is important to note that Lifetime plans on creating a movie that is “a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard,” and would also feature cameos from other famous Internet memes.

Netflix is Bringing Back ‘The Magic School Bus’

Netflix is planning on bringing back the children series Magic School Bus with all new episodes.

Magic School Bus, is a show based on Scholastic book series that focused on science, emphasizing learning about the world around us. The new version of the show is expected to include a modern updated learning lessons, according to The New York Times:  

Netflix is acquiring for worldwide streaming 26 half-hour episodes of the new program, “The Magic School Bus 360°,” which will use computer-generated animation. The show will start appearing in 2016, the companies plans to announce on Wednesday. […]

First broadcast on PBS in 1994, and most recently seen in reruns as part of the children’s programming on Qubo, “The Magic School Bus” was the longest-running children’s science program, Scholastic said, and was shown in approximately 39 countries. While the television show left Qubo in 2012, the company continues to publish books under the brand. […]

Expect the show to be basically the same, except for better animation, and digital upgrades. Netflix also acquired Clifford the Big Red Dog and Goosebumps in the deal with Scholastic, but there is no word if Netflix will give the show a modernized version of those shows.

It looks as though more and more classic childhood shows are gaining in popularity. With Levar Burton’s Reading Rainbow having an amazing comeback, now the Magic School Bus, if you grew up in the 1990’s it is time to relive your childhood.

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Movie Coming Soon to Theaters

Sonic the Hedgehog Movie is coming soon.

Sega‘s billion dollar hit video game series, Sonic the Hedgehog is being turned into a movie.

With the help of Sony Pictures Entertainment expect to see Sonic the Hedgehog the movie, coming to a theater near you.

Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sega‘s animation film production company Marza Animation Planet, announced their plans to develop a feature film based on Sonic the Hedgehog, a $1 billion dollar franchise.

The film will be produced by 22 Jump Street producers, Neal H. Moritz.

According to a recent statement released about the upcoming feature film, Sonic will reunite with “some of the most revered and infamous characters of the franchise,” including Dr. Eggman.

“There are limitless stories to tell with a character like Sonic the Hedgehog, and a built-in international fan base. Along with our wonderful creative partners at Marza, we’re looking to capture everything that generations of fans know and love about Sonic while also growing his audience wider than ever before.”

The first game in the series, published in 1991, was created by Sega’s Sonic Team division after Sega requested a mascot character; the title was a success and spawned sequels, and transformed Sega into a leading video game company during the 16-bit era in the early to mid-1990s.

Watch Out for Hidden Tests at Your Next Audition

Pay attention to hidden tests at your next job interview or audition.

Auditions are simply, job interviews for actors. On the surface, they seem like a simple exchange of questions and answers or reading of lines.

However, some casting directors, and producers may include hidden tests, that can decrease your chances of landing a job or landing a part.

Fast Company recently reported that HubSpot interviewer David Cancel brings a disposable cup of water into a job interview. He will wait to see if the applicant throws away the cup at the end. If they don’t throw away trash, he says, they aren’t a good fit for the company. The applicant is not told the interviewer is judging them on their behavior. But, Hubspot argues, that this is a test of character:

The interview process across HubSpot’s teams integrates what Cancel calls qualitative tests of character, rather than quantitative measures of skill. Instead of tests and brainteasers, which don’t work, hiring managers look for tells that give insights into people’s personalities.

The same may apply for a casting director. The casting director will ask to see how well you will perform under stress. By asking you to re-read lines several times in different emotional settings.

 

Just remember to do your best, but also be aware of these hidden tests at your next interview/audition.

‘Star Wars’ Spin Off to Film in the UK in 2015

Disney’s new Star Wars spin-off will start filming in the UK in 2015

During a set visit to J.J. Abrams “Star Wars: Episode VII” sets in London, the British Chancellor, George Osborne revealed that the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff will begin shoot in 2015.

During a visit to the JJ Abrams‘s “Star Wars: Episode VII” set in London’s Pinewood Studios, Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, revealed  that the recently announced Star Wars spinoff will be shot in the U.K., according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Star Wars spin-off, has a release date for December 16, 2015. The script will be written by Gary Whitta, the writer of Book of Eli. Gareth Edwards, the director of Godzilla, will direct the sequel, Edwards told THR: “Ever since I saw Star Wars I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life — join the Rebel Alliance!”

There are no details surrounding the storyline of the new movie, but recent reports suggest that characters such as Boba Fett and Jedi master Yoda maybe getting their own movies.

It is also rumored that there is a potential Han Solo origin story.  The new feature film will start shooting in 2015, at Pinewood Studios. 

The Boba Fett film would take place either between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, or between Empire and Jedi, where the bounty hunter was last seen plunging unceremoniously into a sarlacc pit. Exactly who would play him isn’t much of a complication – in the original trilogy, he never took off his helmet. And in the prequels, we learned he was the son of the original stormtrooper clone, played by Temuera Morrison, who’s still the right age for the part if his services were required.

In addition to bringing back two fan-favorite characters as the leads of their own films, the Han Solo and Boba Fett projects would also allow Darth Vader, in full-on black death-metal gear, to return as a villain, since placing the spin-offs within the original trilogy would mean he is still alive and hissing. That timeline would also open the door for a return from visit with everyone’s favorite degenerate slug-like gangster, Jabba the Hutt. [EW]

Recently, the U.K. has implemented an aggressive set of tax credits to bring major Hollywood productions into the U.K. and based upon the chancellor’s recent tweets, he promises more jobs and opportunities.

“Given Lucasfilm’s decision to film another Star Wars movie in the UK, it is clear that the Force is strong here,” U.K. Culture Secretary Sajid Javid commented.

“The Walking Dead” Has Plans to Film for 12 Seasons

Producers have a plan to film ‘The Walking Dead’ for 12 seasons.

AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ is heading into its fifth season with 28 million weekly viewers. The most popular show on TV has Rick Grimes fighting off zombies, killers, and cannibals but for how long?

Well according to the producers, we are not even half way there.

Indiewire reports that at the Producer’s Guild of America’s Produced By conference on Sunday, The Walking Dead Executive Producer David Alpert was asked about producing a show from the original comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

“I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what Season 10 is gonna be,” Alpert replied. “We know where season 11 and 12 … we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there.”

For all AMC fans and TV execs, this is good news. Not too mention AMC is already in the works for a Walking Dead spinoff featuring new characters and story lines. However, reaching 10 seasons will be a major challenge for any cable television series.

The Walking Dead returns in October for its fifth season.

Is Dave Chappelle Bringing the ‘Chappelle Show’ Back? [VIDEO]

CBS posted a preview clip for Dave Chappelle’s first Late show interview in ten years and it is amazing.

David Letterman asks Dave Chappelle the question the world has been wondering for years now. What happened to the Chappelle’s Show?

Chappelle answered simply by saying, “Listen, here it is…Technically, I never quit. I’m seven years late for work.”

Does that mean there’s more Chappelle’s Show episodes coming in the near future?

Chappelle has been keeping it very low key ever since the end of the show. Following the third season, Chappelle had an interview with Oprah in 2006 after traveling to South Africa. There were reports that he planned on going back to the show but, he was unsure. However, Comedy Central decided to release the “lost season” and removed any chance of the show returning.

But, it was probably for the better. The comedian and actor commented that he was getting burned out by the work, and he found it more comfortable on the stage, without the problem of Comedy Central executives dictating what he can and cannot do.

This looks like a great and promising interview.

Dumb and Dumber To will center on 20 years after the dimwits set out on their first adventure, they head out in search of one of their long lost children in the hope of gaining a new kidney (IMDB). 

Carrey and Daniels reprise their roles of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, the daft duo at the center of the films. Bobby and Peter Farrelly, who wrote and directed the first film, will co-direct and co-produce the sequel.

“Bolden!” The Movie Casting Call for Featured Roles in Atlanta

‘Bolden!’ the movie is currently seeking extras in Atlanta, Georgia.

Recounting the jazzy life story of legendary cornet player Buddy Bolden, the film began its initial production in early 2007. It is the passion project of Hyatt Hotels heir and writer/director Dan Pritzker, who has reportedly funneled millions into the film.

Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker”) originally was featured in the title role but will be recast before filming restarts, according to Star News Online.

Pritzker will reshoot all the scenes with the main character now played by a new actor.

Tyler Perry is currently seeking extras to work on his new television series “If Loving You is Wrong”.

The first episode is set to premiere in September and will be created, written, directed and executive produced by Tyler Perry and centers on the relationships of a group of husbands and wives that live and love on the same street. While the neighbors are all from different backgrounds, their lives are really similar. But, secrets, lies and deception threaten to destroy what they have built.

‘If Loving You is Wrong‘ stars Zulay Henao, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Aiden Turner.

Casting directors are seeking prisoners, party guests, police officers and witnesses for a scene filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Drumline sequel, ‘Drumline 2‘ is currently casting people to appear in the movie in Atlanta, Georgia.

VH1 has given a green light to Drumline: A New Beat. It will be the next original movie to follow the widely popular TLC Biopic that was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nick Cannon is expected to make a return, reprising his role as well as executive producing.

Drumline 2, will focus on a female lead — Dani Bolton from Brooklyn — and her decision to defy her parents, go to school in New Orleans and bring a once-prominent drumline back to life.

Netflix Original Series Casting Call in New York City

Netflix Original series is seeking women to play female inmates in a production filming in New York City.

Details surrounding this production have not been released, however, according to Marvel.com, Marvel is filming several original Netflix series in New York City starting this summer.
