As part of the crackdown, the company will begin blocking devices after a specific period of time, although this measure does not affect members who use Netflix to access the service. Users subscribed to the ad-supported plan will not have the option to add member. In its Q1 letter to shareholders, Netflix acknowledged that they have observed a certain level of subscription cancellations due to this change. Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix, stated, “It’s very much like a price increase — we see an initial cancel reaction.
