‘TURN: Washington’s Spies’ Season 3, Episode 2 Speaking Role Casting Call

AMC’s hit TV series ‘TURN: Washington’s Spies’ is now casting several new co-starring roles for Season 3, episode 2.

Arvold Casting is now casting speaking roles for season 3, episode 2 of the hit AMC TV series Turn: Washington Spies. Casting directors are looking for Caucasian male actors between the ages of 20 to early 50s.

Filming will take place between November 11th through November 20th. Auditions start November 2nd or through video auditions.

AMC’s television series Turn: Washington’s Spies is filming in the Central Virginia area, and Arvold Casting is seeking actors who look authentically from the Revolutionary War period for speaking roles. TURN is adapted from the nonfiction book Washington’s Spies by Alexander Rose. The story is centered on a band of young soldiers and civilians who were part of the secret spy ring during the Revolutionary War.

Seeking the following co-star (speaking) roles for episode 302:

Top Casting Directors Reveal Why Non-White Actors Are Rarely Cast for Lead Roles

Here’s the reason why casting directors never cast non-white actors for lead roles.

In an interesting interview with some of the biggest casting directors in Hollywood, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg’s top choice for choosing actors to appear in the movies revealed some of the biggest secrets behind casting actors.

During the 23rd Hamptons International Film Festival, three of the industry’s biggest casting directors shared secrets and offered tips during a panel called “The Art of Casting: Casting Society of America.”

The panelists included Ellen Lewis, who has worked with Martin Scorsese for the past 25 years as well as several other major casting directors.

During the hour-long discussion, casting directors shared several casting stories but, also revealed some of Hollywood’s biggest secrets behind casting.

One of the topics casting directors discussed was the lack of diversity in movies and TV shows. Casting directors were asked why so few non-white actors appear in front of the screen and this is what they said:

“If they’ve written an all white cast, you can usually open their minds to some of the roles. It’s getting easier now but it’s always been hard to have a blended family or interracial romance because the producers or directors may think that drives the story some way and that’s not the way they want to go. You end up getting the doctors, the shrink and the nurse with color. It’s a struggle we all work on all the time.”

Ultimately, producers and directors believe that by casting non-white actors for movie roles it will distract the audience from the movie’s storyline.

According to , the number of non-white actors appearing in TV shows and movies has “flat lined” and lead to non-white actors playing stereotypical roles.

If you’re a black man, you are allowed to be a rapper, a bouncer, a drug dealer, a convict, a gang member, a rapist or a wife-beater. You can be a noble slave, the normcore best friend, a duplicitous merchant or space-pirate. You also get to die first. If you’re a black or Hispanic woman, you can be a prostitute, a maid, a nanny, a crack addict, a stripper or a dead body. If you’re an east-Asian woman you can be a geisha, a witch, a concubine, a submissive wife, a waitress in your father’s restaurant or a kidnap victim. Middle Eastern men can be terrorists or local peasants, and east-Asian men can be sadistic enforcers with martial arts skills.

In fact, in a study by the University of Southern California, examining over 700 movies in the past seven years, 75% of all movie characters were white. In addition, only 17% of the top 100 films featured a lead or co-star as a non-white actor.

In the words of Viola Davis, winner of an Emmys earlier this year: “The only thing that separates a woman of colour from anything else is opportunity.”

It is important to highlight the fact that a study concluded a diverse cast actually improves TV ratings and leads to a bigger box office. For example, “films with casts about 30 percent diverse did best at the worldwide box office.”

Bradley Cooper’s ‘Burnt’ Flops in the Box Office

Bradley Cooper’s Burnt fails to heat up in the box office.

Despite having Bradley Cooper, Burnt is burning in the box office as the feature film cannot compete with The Martian and Goosebumps. 

According to Variety, Bradley Cooper’s chef drama Burnt is a box office flop. Having only made $1.8 million from over 3,000 movie theaters across the country. Variety reports that Burnt will only made $5 million in the box office.

But, at least that’s better than Sandra Bullock’s Our Brand is Crisis, which is already reported as the worst movie in Bullock’s acting career.

But, this should not come as a surprise. Rotten Tomatoes reports that “Burnt offers a few spoonfuls of compelling culinary drama, but they’re lost in a watery goulash dominated by an unsavory main character and overdone clichés.” And, the movie currently has a 29% rotten rating on their website.

Burnt centers around Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) who has it all and then loses it. The former culinary chef was one of the best chefs in the world. But, Chef Jones is forced to take his cooking skills to a new level in order to land his own kitchen.

Burnt is directed by John Wells and is written by Steven Knight, Michael Kalesniko.

Actress Leah Remini Bashes Scientology, Tom Cruise in 20/20 Interview

Leah Remini bashes Scientology and Tom Cruise in an exclusive 20/20 interview.

Leah Remini has become extremely critical of the religion she spent a large part of her life practicing. But, since her departure from Scientology in 2013, the actress appeared in an episode of 20/20, to share her experiences and reveal some of the mysteries behind the Church of Scientology.

It is important to point out that Dan Harris reported that representatives of the Church of Scientology delivered a package containing statements about Remini to ABC News.

But, she started off the show confirming several accusations about her. “You say, ‘I am an apostate. I have lied, I have cheated,’” Dan Harris said. “You then go on to admit that you have been selfish, that you’ve physically threatened people and been a horrible wife and mother.”

“Correct,” said Remini. “I know what my former church…how they deal with people who tell their story, and so I wanted to be the one to say it.”

Lea Remini did not hold back. She spent a large amount of the time bashing Scientology’s most famous member, Tom Cruise. She described her early experiences by saying it was “very effusive” and “very loving”.

Leah Remini then told a story about being invited to personally hang out with Tom Cruise by church official, who told her that Cruise wanted her to teach him salsa dancing. At Cruise’s home, she said she saw several “high-ranking Scentiology officials” along with his then-girlfriend Katie Holmes. “He was, like, forcibly kissing Katie,” recalls Remini. “I said, ‘hey get a friggin’ room.'” Remini then says one of the officials wrote up a “knowledge report” on her and then forced to go to an audit.

“If you say something critical to the church, you will be written up,” she says.

But, Leah Remini never decided to bag down and remained critical of Tom Cruise. “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself. You are a person who is anti the aims and goals of Scientology. You are evil.”

Scientology leader David Miscavige, Remini claims, attended Tom Cruise’s wedding to Katie Holmes. It was there that Leah Remini was critical of the church’s leader. This led to another “knowledge report” with Katie Holmes bashing Remini’s behavior in a private letter.

Remini read from what she said was Holmes’s letter: “I was dismayed at the behavior of Leah Remini during the events leading up to our wedding and our wedding. The behavior as a guest, a friend, was very upsetting.”

In multiple reports, Remini was charged with being late, loud and rude at the wedding. She was also accused of upgrading her hotel rom and switching seats at the wedding reception.

Katie Holmes wrote to ABC News earlier this week saying that does not confirm or deny writing the quoted knowledge report but, she does “regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future.”

But, she didn’t only reveal what it was like working with Tom Cruise in the Church of Scientology. Remini also explained how strict the church was to her.

Remini’s mother introduced her to the religion when she was a child and she told 20/20 that Scientology’s mission is to save the planet. But, she points out that while it sounds like a good idea, it has negative consequences because it children are not treated like kids therefore “your ego becomes extremely inflated.”

However, Remini felt that she was expoited as a kid forced to work in a youth labor camp while living in rundown conditions, 20/20 reported.

But, the Church of Scientology did not hold back.

Church of Scientology shot back at Remini’s allegations with a statement criticizing Remini for blaming others for her own weaknesses.

“She needs to move on with her life instead of pathetically exploiting her former religion, her former friends and other celebrities for money and attention to appear relevant again,” the church said in a statement.

Giant Halloween Pumpkin Ballon Escapes and Terrifies Children

A giant Pumpkin balloon bounces through Arizona terrifying children and ruining Halloween.

Halloween isn’t the same without candy, costumes and pumpkins. But, one pumpkin has gone wild in Peoria, Arizona.

According to multiple reports, a 25-foot tall, 350 pound inflatable pumpkin got on the loose “bouncing like a basketball”.

“I was so shocked to see that it was like bouncing like a basketball all the way down the road,” Patrick Sparkes with Big AZ Promotions, the pumpkin’s owner, told local 12News.

The pumpkin was to be used for a local party but, it broke free after storm winds. Following nearly hour long search, the pumpkin was found in a park. The pumpkin was later deflated.

This is not the first time an inflatable balloon got loose. Just a few days ago the JLENS blimp broke free of its tether in Maryland and floated all the way to Pennsylvania where it finally collapsed onto the ground.

I smell a movie idea…the rise of the haunted balloons.

Quentin Tarantino: Chicago, Houston Philadelphia, LAPD, NYPD Unions Boycott ‘Hateful Eight’

The boycott against Quentin Tarantino is getting worse and worse day by day as more and more police unions join together to boycott Quentin Tarantino movies.

According to reports, the Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and New York police departments have all vowed to boycott all of Quentin Tarantino movies. And in an industry where money talks Quentin Tarantino may be in trouble.

The Chicago police force has just announced that they will be joining the five largest police department unions in the country in their battle against Quentin Tarantino.

This all started after comments Quentin Tarantino made during a Saturday rally protesting police brutality in New York City.

Chicago Fraternal Order of Police president Dean Angelo tells The Hollywood Reporter, The Chicago police union “joins with others from coast to coast moving to boycott anything and everything, including his new release [The Hateful Eight].”

“He has an obligation to be more responsible,” according to a similar statement from the New Jersey State Police union, which has also joined the boycott. “This is not a movie, this is real life where police officers lives are impacted by his words.”

Earlier this week, the Houston Police Officer’s union called Quentin Tarantino’s comments “sickening”.

“To use inflammatory rhetoric and imply that police officers are murderers does nothing to repair the fractured relationships with the community,” according to the Houston police union. “It simply makes things more difficult and only deepens the divide.

“We ask officers to stop working special assignments or off-duty jobs, such as providing security, traffic control or technical advice for any of Tarantino’s projects,” the organization said in a statement. “We need to send a loud and clear message that such hateful rhetoric against police officers in unacceptable.”

“I’m a human being with a conscience,” said Tarantino at the Saturday rally. “And if you believe there’s murder going on, then you need to rise up and stand up against it. I’m here to say I’m on the side of the murdered.”

But, Quentin Tarantino’s comments may make his next movie a major Box Office disaster. With well over a hundred thousand people associated with these major police department unions, the new rally against Quentin Tarantino can eventually impact his movie career.

However, based on upon Quentin Tarantino’s comments during the NYC rally, don’t expect him to easily back down.”When I see murders, I do not stand by. … I have to call a murder a murder, and I have to call the murderers the murderers,” according to multiple reports.

N.W.A Manager Suing ‘Straight Outta Compton’ for $110M

Former N.W.A manager Jerry Heller wants you to know that he is not a bad guy and he’s doing this by suing ‘Straight Outta Compton’.

Another day, another lawsuit in Hollywood. In a city that is plagued with lawyers and lawsuits, Jerry Heller is added to the long list of celebrities upset about a feature film. According to reports, Jerry Heller has filed a $110 million defamation lawsuit on Friday.

Heller claims the hit feature film inaccurately portrayed him as the the one responsible for breaking up N.W.A. If you cannot recall, Heller was played by the award winning actor Paul Giamatti.

According to Jerry Heller, he alleges that he did not take advantage of the artists and did not withold the $75,000 check from Ice Cube. In addition, Heller argues that he wasn’t fired by Eazy-E.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heller is not backing down either. In fact, Heller is now working with Michael Shapiro, one of Hollywood’s biggest attorneys who has worked on some of the biggest cases in recent years including a lawsuit over music used in The Steve Harvey Show.

But, the latest Jerry Heller lawsuit is putting Shapiro against some big league attorneys including NBCUniversal, Legendary Pictures, Comptown Records, director F. Gary Gray, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Eazy-E.

In addition to defamation, Heller is alleging “misappropriation of likeness, tortious interference, breach of a settlement agreement and copyright infringement.”

With regards to that settlement, said to have come in 1999, Heller and parties connected to Eazy E are said to have come to an agreement they “shall not make any statements, directly or indirectly in writing, orally, or in any other form, which disparage in any way the other.”

Heller also says through the lawsuit that he entered into an oral contract with various parties to collaborate on a book, and that those parties prepared at least four screenplays, with two being titled “Straight Outta Compton.” In 2006, his book was published by Simon and Schuster. The former N.W.A. manager is now asserting that this year’s film was based on those screenplays. He contends that key scenes like police forcibly detaining N.W.A. members at the studio trace back to his works.

You can read the full complaint here. But, the lawsuit alleges the film failed to give his consent, didn’t pay him a single dollar, and stole his likeness and image. The defendants are planning on using the First Amendment to fight this lawsuit.

‘Passengers’ starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence is now casting extras to play pod passengers in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rose Locke Casting is looking for a ton of people to play pod passengers for a scene filming on November 3rd, 5th and 6th in Atlanta, Georgia. Josh Brolin and Danny McBride are set to star in The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter, a movie project from Scott Rudin Productions and Rough House. Fox’s new hit TV series Scream Queens is now casting real musicians in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Batherson Casting is looking for marching band members to appear in an upcoming episode filming in New Orleans, Louisiana. Producers are looking for 5 real marching band students from the same school who all possess their own matching marching band uniforms. Marinella Hume Casting, the extras casting director of House of Cards Season 4, is looking for retired military, Air Force, and active military men and women to appear on an episode of the popular Netflix series filming in Baltimore this November.

Kevin Spacey plays a Democrat from South Carolina who creates an elaborate plan to get himself into the highest position of power in the country, with the help of his wife, Mrs. Underwood. Season 3 ended with Underwood seeking re-election and it seems that in Season 4, he had won the election.

2 Open Casting Calls This Weekend Every Atlanta Actor Should Be Going To

Two major motion pictures are now filming in Atlanta, Georgia and casting directors have decided to open their doors for new talent.

First off, the producer behind Ride Along, Think Like a Man, Ride Along 2, and The Wedding Ringer is now cast filming his next feature film, “A Meyers Christmas” in Atlanta, Georgia. A Meyers Christmas is a family comedy written and directed by David E. Talbert from Baggage Claim and producer Will Packer. A Meyers Christmas centers around an estranged family who reunites over Christmas for the first time since their mother died. It will hit theaters November 11, 2016. A Meyers Christmas features Gabrielle Union and apparently, Pierre George casting, the casting director behind Straight Outta Compton, is looking for a male actor to audition for a lead speaking role in the upcoming feature film.

Along with, A Meyers Christmas there is the wildly anticipated feature film, Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Tammy Smith Casting, the official extras casting director of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be holding an open casting call for the new Marvel feature film.

According to the casting call, Tammy Smith Casting, the extras casting company for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, is currently looking for male actors to play Aliens. So, producers are looking for men ages 18 to 65 that are extremely thin, have imperfect teeth, strong facial bone structures and amputees to audition for a featured Alien background extra role.

In addition, casting directors are looking for beautiful Alien models. Marvel producers are looking for men and women between the ages of 18 to 50. Tammy Smith Casting is looking for very attractive, physically fit, and some bald women to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Here are 8 times celebrities went too far for Halloween.

If you look towards celebrities to figure out what to wear this Halloween, you better beware. Halloween is known for offending millions of people and here are a list of celebrities who have gone a little too far during the festive season.

1. Hedi Klum as Godess Kali

Hedi Klum is known for her over the top costumes. But in 2008, she went as the Goddess Kali which caused quite a backlash. With many people accusing her for “using the religion for decoration or to advance her selfish agenda.” In fact, Hindu-American leaders demanded an apology.

2. Colton Haynes as Kanye West

Arrow’s Colton Haynes has a history of dressing up in blackface. In fact, one year he dressed up as Kanye West and the next year he dressed up as Gandi.

3. Julianne Hough as Crazy Eyes

Julianne Hough is another celebrity who decided it was smart to dress up in blackface. But, would later offer an apology:

I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize.

4. Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick as “Sheik Pussy”

The Kardashians showed their true colors when Disick dressed as an Arab Sheik and Khloe instagrammed it with the captaion “Sheik Pussy.” She would later comment on the issue during an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians:

“I just wrote “Sheik Pussy.” Wait, what’s wrong with it? I don’t understand. Nothing is nice so far, what is happening?!”

Many people found that the costume was culturally inappropriate.

5. Chris Brown as the Taliban

Chris Brown thought it would be a good idea to pretend to be a terrorist. One year he dressed up as a member of the Taliban and he even tried to justify his reasoning to Hollywood Life:

“It’s Halloween and people can be whoever the f**k they want to be. That’s the whole point. It’s a costume. We all didn’t mean no disrespect by dressing up as Arabs. Nobody ain’t mention s**t about no Taliban or nothing like that. We just went out, put on a costume and had some fun. Damn, it’s too early in the day to be talking about drama and s**t like that. It’s f**king Halloween and all that really matters is that he had a good time and came out and supported Rihanna and made a big a** donation to her charity. Talk about that instead of a stupid costume.”

6. Adrianne Curry as Amy Winehouse

America’s Next Top Model winner, Adrianne Curry, thought it was a good idea to dress up as the late Amy Winehouse.

7. Ashley Benson as Cecil the Lion

Ashley Benson’s costume as Cecil the Lion was so offensive that she had to post an apology on Instagram. Blaming her management for using an improper title, she donated to money to the World Wildlife Fund to apologize.

8. Snooki as a milk carton

Thirty years ago people used to advertise their missing children on the side of a milk carton in the hope that it would help find their kids. So, naturally, when people saw Snooki’s costume people found it extremely insensitive.

AMC Renews ‘The Walking Dead’ for a Seventh Season

If you were worried that AMC was going to cancel The Walking Dead, then we have some good news for you. AMC has just renewed The Walking Dead for a seventh season.

AMC is planning on keeping their most watched TV show in history on their network for another year.

According to THR, the cable network has renewed the zombie drama based on the Robert Kirkman comic-book series for a seventh season. With the renewal, Walking Dead ties Mad Men as the longest-running original TV series.

“Thank goodness someone had a Magic 8-Ball with them in our many long internal meetings about these renewals. When, on the third shake, ‘without a doubt’ filled the murky blue screen, we knew we had to proceed with new seasons of The Walking Dead and Talking Dead,” AMC/Sundance TV president Charlie Collier said in a statement Friday. “All joking aside, we are so proud to share these shows with fans who have been so passionate, communicative and engaged. We are grateful for and continually impressed by the talent, effort and excellence on continuous display by Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, Chris Hardwick and the many people with whom we partner to make these unique shows possible. The result: More Walking and Talking. Hooray.”

This should not come as a surprise. The Walking Dead still ranks as TV’s most watched drama among the key demographic of 18 to 49 year olds. Season six had 14.6 million total viewers and with three days of the premiere, nearly 20 million people watched to see what happened to Rick and the gang.

Kid’s Pablo Escobar Halloween Costume Has the Internet Going Crazy

Internet is going crazy after seeing a kid version of Pablo Escobar.

Someone decided to dress up this little kid up as the notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, complete with a tacky Hawaiian shirt, parted curly hair, mustache, a tiny gun, and a briefcase full of money.

The adults at the party seem really entertained. Especially as the kid even fist bumps other adults. The website, Break, also found this pretty funny, posting the video on Facebook with the caption, “Little Pablo Escobar runs the biggest fun size Snickers cartel…”

However, as The Latin Times points out, many commenters found this extremely offensive. “I can’t wait to dress my children up in the most offensive, inappropriate costumes ever. I want at least 10 phone calls to Social Services questioning my parenting abilities,” writes one Facebook user.

“I do not think this is funny. Pablo Escobar is tied to murdering thousands people (many of them innocent),” writes another, who then binge-watches Netflix’s Narcos, to research the damage Escobar did the Columbian people.

Ultimately, this poor kid has NO idea what is going on and is probably extremely confused as to why everyone is laughing at him and his minature briefcase.
